Central Park

Beautiful, well maintained park with great trails for hiking. This is one of my favorite places in the Jones County, Iowa area.

They have everything you need to get away and unwind.

This place is gorgeous. It’s perfect for a family with small kids. A shallow, roped off swimming area makes it perfect for the little ones.

Beach is super clean with lots of room and very nice tables with umbrellas attached. Beautiful place to have a picnic and spend time outdoors! Nice bathrooms and showers for after. Paddle boats available as well!

Great lake for kayaking. Newly redone beach area. Fishing is still spotty and smallish due to lake being redone a couple years ago. Camp host is very friendly and patient. Great place for a day trip or a few days!

this is a beautiful park. good fishing, lots for kids to do. a very well spread out primitive section, the camper section is a little tight for my taste. for those without a tent or camper they have cabins with electric and a/c. boat docks, canoe and kayak rental and a shower house. five miles from Anamosa and a walmart if you need anything

Beautiful rural camping and picnicing spot. The lake is currently drained and being deepened and a larger swimming area developed. It should be ready to go again next summer. In the meantime it's still a gorgeous spot for a day trip to rural Iowa.

Edit: lake is almost full. Docks are in. Fish are stocked.

Central park is currently under going a major restoration so the main lake is unusable. The will be a fully redone beach and swimming area a new handicap accessable dock and new boat ramp. Fish on the main lake should be amazing in 3-4 years. Right now there is a large pond for fishing canoeing and kayaking. There is also several miles of trials and prairies and nature center will many exhibits. The park had modern and primitive camping with fire puts and tables there is also cabins for rent and a modern shower and bathroom.

There is awesome progress with trails and clean up. It looks promising, can't wait to see continued progress. The geese families are growing, the grass and water are clean and inviting.

Fantastic beach centrally located Cedar Rapids/Dubuque/Tipton. Well maintain beach, wonderful tables near the beach and shade trees up the way. We rented paddle boats $5/30 minutes and checked out a bit more of the lake... so I was able to see a playground as well. The only thing I will change is next time have water shoes by the end of the afternoon my feet were feeling the rocks in the sand in & out of the water.

Our new family summer camping destination. Great place with great veiws. Cabin we rented was perfect for group of 4 and for the price worth every penny. Plenty of stuff to do like fishing, kayaking, boat ramp, beach and swimming area perfect for kids. Definitely will be back again.

Absolutely one of the best local places to take the whole family. You can swim in the lake for free, go fishing, kayaking, paddle boating, camping and the nature center and all the activities they offer is truly amazing!!!

Beautiful Jones County park. Well maintained and clean. Nice pond. Many camping options.

Perfect place for camping. Not expensive, paid 25 a night for electrical, water. Internet and sewer. Walking distance to the beach, kayaks, paddle boats, kids playground but very peaceful atmosphere.

We had a blast tagging monarchs then watching the snake eat some worms. ;) It was a great way to have some outside time while doing some science! It was great being able to use my entomology skills from 4-H to help the kids safely catch the butterflies! Thank you Jones County Conservation team!!

Redone this place and expanded it! Great camping and swimming and fishing!

Very cool little lake and nature center. Very well kept.

The park is clean, has plenty of walking trails and spots for fishing. The camper hookups work great with relatively level ground. Has a shower house with toilets. You can buy firewood on site.
