Redwood Steak House

So much yummy food! Our server was attentive but not over bearing. We love The Redwood. We were celebrating our anniversary that evening. It has become our tradition since we moved to the area several years ago.

Cute place! Waitress was very nice but it seemed like she was the only one, so diners need to be patient. Food was good - the relish tray was so cute and fun! It has a lot of different little things on it, and we had fun sampling all of them. The onion rings were also really good, as was the meal itself. Ham was very good quality and hubby said the chicken livers were really good. It's a bit pricey, but worth it for a special meal.

This restaurant is phenomenal! We loved everything about it! The relish tray was wonderful, brought back so many memories when places use to serve them! The fish my friend had was excellent as was my pork chop. Onions are the best ever!! The bread was warm and yummy. It was my friend’s birthday and they played happy birthday and brought him a dessert with a candle ! It was so special! Amy was our waitress and we loved her ! Excellent service! Will definitely be back!!!

Celebrated our 55th Wedding Anniversary with 6 family & friends. Love their breaded shrimp! Very nice waitress. All 8 of us very satisfied. Ended with a grasshopper drink.💞

This place is awesome! It's like a supper club that you'd find in Wisconsin. They've got an impressive amount of seafood on the menu and they bring out a relish tray containing everything from meat and cheese to pickled herring to olives and radishes. Biggest favor you can do for yourself is order one of the supper club cocktails/ice cream cocktails. We tried three different ones (really could have stuck with one, maybe two, for all 3 people) - the Grasshopper, the Swiss Virgin, and the Brandy Alexander. Absolutely fantastic. Barb was covering the drinks, tables and serving food and doing it all with a smile on her face. Great experience!

Ribeye and Jalepeno bacon pork, nice salad and homemade dressings. Sourdough bread basket, and best treat of all... this relish tray.
If you are in the area, don't miss the 8 mile drive from interstate 80 to visit this supper club!

We love this steakhouse in Anita. Just a few miles south of I-80, well worth the stop. This was my third visit on a cross-country drive. I always have the filet done rare. It's delicious! The relish dish is unique and has something for everyone. Many other dining options but when in Iowa, I'll have beef or pork. When passing through Iowa on I-80, stop by and try it for yourself.

Love this place. The food is always decent but what sets it apart is the nostalgia.

Best food ever! We make a point to eat at the Redwood whenever we are in Anita. Restaurant has been there for 50 years or more, and it is always a positive experience. Meals include a relish tray, as well as the regular sides. The onion rings are to die for!

The Redwood is a gem hidden in ole Anita, Iowa. I always walk out satisfied with the plethora of food, quality of service & the atmosphere. You have to start with an order of onion rings or cheese balls; they’re the best. With dinner, you get a delicious relish tray, salad and bread. There’s not an entree I’ve tried that I don’t love.

We took my Mom out for her birthday. Food was great! She and my husband had the whole catfish and I had a chicken fillet. I've had great steak there before too. Love, love, love the relish tray that comes with the meal! Plenty of extras come with the meal also. The service was wonderful, really nice waitress. Left feeling pleasantly full. I definitely recommend the Redwood Steak House.

Great place for a birthday dinner! We stopped by and had dinner here on our way back home. Great meal! Relish tray was awesome! Onion rings, steak, jalapeño pork chop were all great! We took home leftovers because there was so much food! They gave me a little birthday cake and play the birthday song on the jukebox! :)

The food was delicious. We got the relish platter which was always wonderful. I ordered the Cod sandwich and everything was very tasty. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was good and the people were lovely. Would go there again.

We went there as a group for dinner on Sunday, the service was first rate, the onion rings and portobello mushrooms were out of this world. The relish tray was totally outstanding, never have I seen such assortment.
The steaks and jalapeno pork filet were great.
All in all I would recommend this restaurant if you're in the area touring around as we were.

Been going here for 30+ years! Can’t find a relish plate like they do! If you want fish; this is the place to get it! Finish the meal with a Brandy Alexander ice cream drink... simply amazing! We have had some long wait times on a Saturday night at 7pm, but they were packed full so it was expected.

I was enjoying a siblings from the D.C. area get together. It had been about 20 yrs since seeing each other. Of course we had not changed. A nephew also attended. He changed from a little boy into a young man of almost middle age. I believe the other 7 or 8 all had steak dinners. The steaks were huge. I heard no complaints + I believe the only time the table fell quiet....except for the sound of chewing. A nifty surprise was the loaded appetizer trays. There were so many selections. Yummy. Yummy. The bar drinks were great. I don't believe anyone had room for dessert. I regret not remembering the name of our fabulous, ever cooperative, waitress. One final note to golfers: there is a supersized course across the street. I don't play but it looked beautiful. Have a fantastic meal after a challenging game.

Great Food, Friendly service!

This was our first time and we'll be back. Pictured here is our relish tray!! Our entree came with a relish tray, warm bread, salad, and choice of potato. Good, homecooked food. The homemade blue cheese dressing was well worth the extra 50 cents!

We met our son and his family half way between Omaha and Des Moines for dinner. I picked the Redwood. None of us had been there before. I was nervous.
What a great find! The serving was good. The oniin rings were the best ever! Relish tray was amazing. The steaks were prepared perfectly and delicious. The chicken was also awesome! Must have crisp hash browns! It was a great time. Thank you very much!
The restaurant was packed at 7:00 and we were glad we had a reservation. Anita is so lucky to have the Redwood!
