Red Roof Inn Arcata

I must say I was a bit anxious when booking my stay here due to all of the negative reviews. However, we still went ahead and booked a room and stayed there. I must say that my experience definitely exceeded my expectations!

The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, both on the phone and in-person, upon checking in and out. Our room looked like it was renovated not too long ago (laminate floors, desk and nightstand lamps with outlets and USB ports). The bathroom was clean and looked nice. There was a stain looking like nail polish on one of the towels, but the towel did smell washed, and it would require the housekeeping to closely inspect each single towel to notice it.

The room did not have a fridge and microwave, but it wasn't mentioned on the reservation. I would stay for the rate half of what the other budget chain hotels (Choice, Wyndham) within the same area of the city were asking ($67 compared to $140-150) it was definitely an amazing value!

No frills, no nonsense. If you want a cheap, clean, quiet hotel that will let you have your dog stay too, this is the place. It's not fancy but if you're visiting the coast, you're not spending much time in your room anyway. This place is affordable and clean. Make sure if you need a fridge and microwave, you upgrade to the deluxe room for around $10 more...the regular rooms don't have them.

So welcoming and worker was so helpful and called when our room was available. Our stay was amazing. The worker who offered to help with our luggage is amazing and helped let us know when the pool was available. They should get so many stars then they get. I’d definitely stay here again. ♥

We were greeted with a smiling happy host named Perry, who was just an absolute delight. Made sure we were completely taken cared of. Warm indoor pool, kept my 5 year old happy! Nice breakfast included! Broken hair dryer, and had to ask for a few things for the room that should’ve been there already, but Can’t beat it for the price, but the costumer service made it top notch. They really made you feel welcome

Because it was clean and the laundry lady was always quick to help me with whatever I needed. She cleaned my room did my garbage and brought me towels and coffee when I needed it. The clientell seems to be getting better and I felt safer.. I watched her put out a fire that could have been very bad so I think that she goes above normal standards and surly will be back again because of her and the way she cares about her people she works for. I am sure you recognize what you have in her a real asset to your business.

Room was decent for the price. Bathroom did look warn out a bit and my wife really missed the remote. But other than that it was a great room for our buck. Hotel is located in a great place close to eateries and quick access to tourist attractions

Pauline is a wonderful person, she greet us as soon as we arrived, the room was super clean( apparently they have a new management and is doing a very good job) and didn’t smell like mold. Thank you for the great service, definitely coming back. <3

I'm glad we hadn't read the reviews before we booked a room. These new owners are working hard to overcome the negative reviews & seem very interested in pleasing their guests. We found the check in staff, Mat, pleasant & accommodating as we wanted to check in a little early; he asked housekeeping to get a room ready asap. We were able to get into our room in about a half hour. We had stayed at a different motel the 2 previous nights where the night staff was rude & lazy. Red Roof Arcata, CA has clean rooms, friendly staff & favorable amenities; Glenn waited patiently while I dressed after using the hot tub as it was time to close the pool room. The amenities include (working clean pool & hot tub, free secured wi-fi, simple but adequate continental breakfast (no waffles yet), iron & ironing board, hair dryer, extra pillows when requested & coffee, tea & TV in the lobby while we waited for early check in.) There is also a computer in the lobby for guest use. The breakfast room needs a couple of small tables for the handicapped who have difficulty or simply cannot lift themselves up onto the bar stools. It doesn't seem that this motel should be less expensive than the nearby motel that had none of the named amenities. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

The hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious. But the best part about staying here is the staff. A lady named Sheila was extremely helpful and friendly. Because of her I will definitely stay here again. She was able to make our stay pleasant.

Excellent value hotel. We turned up drenched and they let us wheel our bikes straight through reception to our room. Huge room with microwave and fridge. Excellent shower and quiet. Decent breakfast included too and great atmosphere all round

Great hotel, room was cleaned well. You can tell the rooms have seen a lot of use by scuffs on the furniture. But even with that everything was wiped down and cleaned. For such a cheap hotel it’s the cheapest and one of the best cheapest hotels I have ever stayed at. It’s next to the “pantry” so it’s easy to get brexfast lunch or dinner within walking distance. The rooms were in the middle of being updated with new mattresses, tv’s and adding a fridge and microwave to every room. Which for the room we had wasn’t “the deluxe” and didn’t have a fridge or microwave. The central heating and air worked great and was quite. The front desk employee, was very helpful and professional. All around for a hotel room that only costed 65.00 out the door with tax your not going to find a better hotel. Period.

I planned on staying three nights but due to some unseen circumstances I only stayed two nights. normally management would charge a fee for a late cancellation but as for me they did not. I didn't get bothered at all. When my room card malfunctioned midnight shift manager personally walked over and made sure everything was ok. I keep hearing the continental breakfast is absolutely amazing, but I didn't have a chance to try it myself. On my next stay I'll definitely have to try it myself! everything else was good, room was clean, tv/cable worked, bathroom/shower in great condition and no noisy neighbors, defiantly recommend it for a great price and only about 5 minutes away from the state university ! (Where all the bitches are at)

Well I liked the stay but wont be back. The night staff who checked me in messed everything up. Matt was the only one who was nice and helped me. His super visor should see how much of a good person they have and give him a raise. You don't find people like him in the hotel business. Keep him and I might be back.

Staff helped us out and got us the last room. Was able to bring the pups and park my car in a safe spot. Clean sheets, nice smelling room. Can’t ask for more! 👌🏻

Beds are comfy. Great price. Staff and front desk have excellent customer service although the last time I stayed I payed for the room got the keys left the hotel for about 4hrs plans changed had to leave on emergency and even though I never entered the room they would not refund my money and or would not credit my account through them.

Stayed here for a few nights couldn’t believe the amazing service Marrissa Nelson provided! Our room was so clean and comfy not too mention Such a positive and helpful young lady! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Marrissa and Red Roof Inn❤

Real nice evening staff. Low price room, low deposit. Wonderful pool clean heater and air conditioner worked well worth the stay.

My family’s stay was amazing! The rooms were so clean and spacious for my family, Jessica and dez were super friendly and helpful with anything we needed! Definitely will be booking here again in the future!

Another restful peaceful stay at the red roof inn .Tiffany was extremly helpful in getting me the right room for my needs. Great location with a grocery store right across the street and laundry mat and several stores nearby.
