Zorro's Cafe & Cantina

Lovely restaurant with a huge menu of comfort foods. There’s both inside and outdoor seating. We came for the clam chowder and it didn’t disappoint. The chowder was hot, chock full of clams and so delicious. I ordered the half BLT and half chowder that I upgraded from a cup to a bowl for an additional $2.99. So glad I did.

This has been a family favorite for brunch since my wife and I started going to Cal Poly in 2012. Still our favorite spot in the county for brunch by the water to this day. Best clam chowder in SLO county hands down. The offerings are unmatched and the chips/salsa are always a nice touch. Friendly staff that’s always top notch. Hope to come here for many more years to come 🔥

We had an excellent breakfast at Zorro's. Guillermo ensured we got great seats and drinks right away. He kept our waters and coffees topped off throughout the meal. All of the food, some specifically suggested by Guillermo, tasted amazing and the portions were quite sufficient to walk away feeling full. One of us couldn't even finish their meal.

If you're traveling in the area I strongly suggest taking the time to enjoy a breakfast or lunch here. You won't regret it (especially the sweet corn tamale).

The staff was very friendly. Food hit the spot! Chips and salsa were good. I need to go back to try the deep-fried ice cream.

This place is the 💣. The food is 🔥. Try the shrimp and crab enchiladas. French toast was really good. The burrito 🌯 will leave you full for days, lol.

I have stopped here twice now on my way down to socal and both times have been a very good experience. They have really good food and excellent service. I love that it is away from the main pismo strip so it's a Iittle less touristy. It's is small but cute. My only complaint would be that the outdoor seating is not the most comfortable but other than it's a great spot. I would definitely recommend.

Zorro's is a regular stop when we're in the area. We got lucky with a table when we walked in. I've tried many dishes here and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I highly recommend checking out their specials board. Those are usually gems. Tonight we went simple. I had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. It was full of big chunks of veggies and chicken, topped with a dollop of sour cream. It hit the spot. My partner had a chicken salad. It was huge and full of all the goodies.

Packed on a Friday night when we went to order. The to-go order was ready in 10 minutes.
The wonderful lady who took our order was so welcoming and cared for our order .
The food at Zorro is great. Chile Colorado was above par (7.5/10). The Southern California Chile Colorado did indeed stand out .

Food was excellent, we really enjoyed the zorro dip! It had chilies, cheese, rancho sauce and beans in it. The salsa was great. Enjoyed the tacos. The clam chowder was surprisingly good as well! They have an outdoor patio which is pet friendly so you can bring your dog.

We had a party of 7 and we were trying to find something open after pulling into town late. It was after 8:30p, but they immediately assembled a big table to accommodate us and took our drink order right away. We had chips and salsa within seconds. What a great first impression. My wife got the clam chowder in a bread bowl and considers it the best she has had anywhere, including the San Francisco wharf. I got one of the combination plates, and the rest of the family each got various items. All the family was full, and all the plates were empty by the time the two servings of fried ice cream came out. What a great dessert to share to finish the meal. We are definitely going to be coming back the next time we are in town.

Yummy and generous! The menu is extensive and everyone should be able to find something wonderful to eat. Chips and salsa are fresh and yummy. Taco salad was super fresh and huge! The tuna melt was very good and also generous in size. Great service.

The service, the food, the dessert, and the overall experience was great! My Wife and I enjoyed everything about this place. The service was great, we were seated very quickly and our waiter was top notch. He explained everything in detail and made sure we were happy. The food was delicious. I ordered the sombrero burger and my wife ordered the Chile verde enchiladas. We also got the quesadilla which was good. The micheladas were good as well. And the fried ice cream was HUGE! It was the size of my fist! I would definitely recommend this place and will be back next time we visit Pismo!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - The complimentary chips and salsa is amazing! #6 combo of shrimp and crab enchilada has a rich creaminess that offsets the sweetness of the seafood. Great combo! Chile Verde Plate with handmade style corn tortilla was highly recommended and for good reason. The pork was so tender that you can pull it apart with two forks and the sauce goes great with the rice and beans.

Service: 5/5 - we were immediately greeted when we walked up and when we told the server we were ordering to-go, he provided a menu and let us know we can order inside. After debating over the menu a bit, another server stepped out to take our orders and was able to provide some recommendations to consider.

Value for price: 4/5 - a bit pricier than usual but comparable for a beach city/town

Great Mexican restaurant! Very authentic taste, excellent service and wonderful menu options for vegetarians. The coffee was strong and very good. Lemonades were very refreshing. Fajitas with beans, rice, corn tortillas were just superb! Spinach Enchiladas were beyond expectations. And Avila burger (vegetarian) has so much in it. They cut it to half for kids. The drinks were refilled often. Chips and salsa are so yum! It’s kid-friendly, dog-friendly and vallet-friendly restaurant. Fresh, healthy and tasty food with great hospitality is a rare combo.

The wife and I have been very fortunate vacationing on the Central Coast this weekend. The choices for breakfast are absolutely delicious and very well prepared. I wish all Mexican restaurants Had these kind of high food standards. Can't wait to revisit for the dinner menu.
The pozole was my favorite.

We usually have our clam chowder in a bread bowl but this time we asked to have sourdough toast on the side and they did that! I didn't know so we don't have to let all that bad go to waste. We decided to have something different to add on and we added their shrimp and crab enchiladas plate with white cream sauce and it was really good! I think if we could add a good kick of spice to it! It would be great! Love their salsa and chips!

Came in on a real windy Thursday evening around 7pm. Place was full inside, the hostess got us a table in the covered patio area. Little bit of noise from the wind blowing things against the patio cover but, it wasn't annoying. Temperature was comfortable with sweater, and the wind draft was blocked by the cover perfectly. Service was excellent. Our server was Gerardo and he had a secondary server/busser backing him up. Both were friendly. Food was great. Brought chips and salsa (both seemed homemade)with our drinks. Mom ordered №14 plate, two Tiger Shrimp tacos with beans and rice. Looked like three (or 4) good size seasoned shrimp per Taco with shredded cabbage and radish. I ordered the Chile Verde Burrito. It had soft moist pork with rice inside, covered the outside with Cheese and salsa Verde with sour cream on the side. Served with rice and beans. Didn't have any leftovers to take home as it tasted too good to leave any scraps. Despite being way too full, ordered fried ice cream and homemade Flan to take home. Left very happy with the overall experience here.

Had one of the best Mexican meals that I’ve had in while here! Sometimes the most well-reviewed places aren’t necessarily vegetarian-friendly, but this place has a ton of options. I appreciated that the Spinach & cheese enchiladas were actually spicy (I love spice!) The staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Zorro's is exactly what you'd expect in a cute little beach town, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is fantastic! Atmosphere is laid back a low fuss, and those beach breezes makes the outdoor patio prefect on a summer evening. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered here so far, but I keep coming back to the crispy yet tender carnitas. Yum!
