The restaurant at the Imperial is a must whether you're visiting from out of town or are a local. We're local and come here regularly. We were actually just in for dinner a few days ago when we had family in town (this was the first place we wanted to take them to). And for the record, we have zero affiliation with the hotel or anyone that works there. This place is deserving of this review. Simple as that.

My wife and I are from bigger cities and are well traveled. We both agree that the food and service here is on par with the nicest of restaurants in any city (but with small-town charm).

The Chef (a legit chef, not just a cook) I believe previously worked back East in the Hamptons. We're pretty particular and have always found everyone here to be very accommodating. The service has always been great and the manager (Kate) is exceptional. The atmosphere is tough to beat whether sitting inside or outside. The parking is easy...... the experience overall is top notch.

So long story short, if you haven't been, you're missing out. This place is great.

Been coming here since I was a kid to eat, love the atmosphere and food/drinks, but had never stayed overnight. My gf and I stayed the weekend and very much enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and great at their jobs, you really feel welcome. Cocktails are unique and delicious. You're in a 100+ year old building so you might find the complementary earplugs useful, but that's part of the experience. The bar was open til 10pm which is awesome for this area.

A couple friendly suggestions:
An extra trash can in the room would be nice. We only had a tiny one in the bathroom.
It would be great if they added a few more dishes to the breakfast menu in the restaurant. Maybe like an omelet, a hash, and/or a breakfast sandwich. We likely would've eaten brunch in the restaurant twice if those were on the menu.

Thank you very much! Excellent room, service and location! We had a great time with your customers and staff and I would love to come back and play and stay again! Imperial Hotel is home to us since we first stayed 35 years ago for our first anniversary!

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone! Couples or girls trip or solo! Me and my best friend stayed here end of January for some relaxation and wine tasting! It’s a short drive to Sutter Creek and close to Black Chasm caves and many many other small adorable towns. The hospitality was more than I could have ever imagined! We happened to be the only two staying at the hotel those two nights and they upgraded us to a suite. They brought us breakfast in our room and it was all homemade. The owners are the sweetest and their food is amazing! I will forever remember this trip! Also there is a great brewery right down the street! There is a great hiking route that takes you in a big circle beginning in town and brings you back to town! The nature and views were impeccable!

We stayed in the Golden room, just lovely with a cute semi private balcony. The bed was very comfortable! We enjoyed the Nespresso coffee station outside our room, and the staff was extremely accommodating. Our dinner in the restaurant was very good and the ambiance was very nice. There are several wineries in the vicinity and Sutter Creek, a nearby town, is adorable!

The Hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. Theres an outside sitting area that is very relaxing. The drinks at the restaurant are top notch. The only complaint I have is how expensive the rooms are on a week day considering nothing in town is open and the bar doesn't open til 5. I would definitely stay here again!

This place is a hidden gem. They have breakfast and let me tell you it was amazing. The staff was so friendly. I met the owner and his wife l. They are such a nice couple. This place is a nice boutique hotel with beautiful decor. My wife and I are planning to stay here. Please check out the local shop and wine bars.

The Imperial Hotel is wonderful. We did not stay at the physical hotel, cause we had the dogs. We stayed at the Imperial Hotels off site room, which was fantastic. Our room was huge. The service was great as well. We will definitely be back 👍🏻

What an amazing place! We could not have enjoyed our stay more. You could tell they’ve put a ton of work into the details and managed to make a historical landmark (I don’t know if it is but it should be) a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The service was top notch and their restaurant had fantastic food. I live in a fairly big city and I would be hard pressed to find a dinner that good. Really impressed. Would stay again.

Stumbled upon this while hunting last minute for accommodations as a solo traveler in the Shenandoah Valley while visiting for my first time tasting wines in the Sierra Foothills. A perfectly lucky pick.

The space received a 'fresh coat of paint' six months ago when new owners took it on. But it still has its old brick building, boutique charm.

Staff were delightful, tipping almost-but-not-quite into being excessively attentive, with the food and drinks at the restaurant being unexpectedly excellent (not the badly overpriced and trying-too-hard to-be-good stuff you sometimes can find at these historic building boutique conversion hotels). I brought a book down to the bar to read and never opened it, as the locals spent the evening sharing recommendations for how to spend my tasting time the next day.

The room was charming and clean. Plenty of smart thoughtful touches without being too over stylized or pushing to track a trend.

Would stop by again in a heartbeat if in the area. The tiny little old town main street it's on is also a charmer.

It was late, and we had been exploring the nearby areas of Amador all day. We decided that we wanted to get a room when we came across Imperial Hotel and Restaurant. We knew it was a long shot, and we decided to drive to the hotel to see if there was an availability left. When we got there, we caught Kate just before she was leaving for the night. She helped us get into a guest cottage for the night because the hotel itself was completely booked. It was a lovely cottage. Kate was so above and beyond anything you could ever expect. She was not only friendly and helpful, but she took her time to walk us up to the cottage and went over everything with us (we were the second people who stayed in the cottage, so everything was new not only to us but to them as well). Everything was great and she made our stay fantastic.
I highly recommend coming here.

We went for brunch. It was my first time to Imperial, but my other guests had been for dinner and really enjoyed.
Overall a great experience. The food was delicious, however I would have loved to see a few brunch classics on the menu.
One of my favorite parts was the over all esthetic of the restaurant, bar and lobby. Super cute decor, blended colors and overall relaxing space.
The real winner of the morning was their cocktails. They had some of the best drinks on their menu and when they showed up they were just as beautiful as the sound.

We visited Imerial Hotel & Restaurant for dinner. The service was impeccable, from the bar tender to our waitress, everyone we interacted with seemed to really enjoy what they do. The atmosphere is welcoming, comfortable, and elevated, still maintaining the historical feel. The food....just wow!! Every bite was perfect!! 10 out of 10 on everything. We will be back.

We stayed in a weekend rental and saw the backyard lights of this hotel resturant patio. I had both brunch and dinner here, found the bartender to be a thoughtful and intelligent mixologist. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. The dishes included interesting garish, wait staff was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. I was not aware of the level of quality fine dining in Amador; this place exceeded my expectation of the best city fine dining!

Great hotel with a very creative brunch. I had a brussell sprout, pancetta and egg, and my wife had the smorgasbord (eggs, bagel chips, smoked salmon, chèvre/chives). All very tasty backed up with some French pressed coffee.

Fantastic place for dinner. 4 of us had the 75 dollar tasting menu. With one exception every course was perfect. The beef course is cooked sous vide and very rare, not stayed on the menu. One of our party prefers medium cooked beef. The staff immediately redid the dish to her liking. Nice service. Extensive wine list at every price point. A great splurge place in Amador county in Amador city. Menu online although a little out of date.
