BLUE BIRD CAFE

Wonderful breakfast today. This was my first time here at Blue Bird and I loved it. I had the three pancakes with eggs and bacon along with an orange juice and water. Waitress was cute and friendly. I will return!

Quick seating, clean tables, and good food and portion size. Had a nice familiarity to the atmosphere. Had a nice experience.

Visiting my brother in Arlington and met him here for breakfast... he highly recommended this place... had their "half order" biscuits and gravy...holy cow! Glad I didn't order the full sized!
Biscuits were house made as was the gravy...delicious and awesome old school personal service and restaurant, which is family owned for 40+ years. One can expect more delicious menu items here. Tip well here!This place, added to the original downtown charm of Arlington is a must visit, if not a destination.

This is a charming cafe. The food was very good. I had a cup of the best clam chowder I've eaten in years. The service was spectacular. Our waitress was great.

Best breakfast place in Arlington! The food is cooked perfectly and tastes amazing! The staff is super friendly and fun, I'll be going back again soon!

Went on a breakfast date with my wife on Veterans Day. We don't usually come up this way and we didn't realize there was a parade happening. Parking was a challenge to find because of it.

Pros:
-Great waitstaff, super friendly
-Supersized large portions
-Housemade food - always reminiscent of grandma's cooking
-Super flavorful, no need to add salt or pepper
-Freeflow pour sugar on the table alongside sugar packets!
-Sweet tea option available! (Important to me as a southern woman!)
-Fun atmosphere, very much an old school diner
-They take cash and card!
-They have a super cute lunch counter with swivel stools
-They have housemade cinnamon rolls that are bigger than your head
-They offer a punch card and veterans get double punches!

Cons:
-Parking can be a challenge
-You seat yourself, but if its super busy you're left kind of looking around ready to "vulture" a table
-Service is a little slow, but honestly I'm ok with it because I know they are fresh making my plate.
-They don't serve dinner.
-They close at 3.

Food:
-The food was incredible. Very stick to your ribs. The menu has old school selections such as liver and onions, hamburger steak and omg the BEST mashed potatoes around! We had breakfast this time and I had the eggs benny and she had the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fluffy and gravy was perfect. The eggs benny was amazing, great hollandaise!
The potatoes were fried perfect, and you can add your choice of brown gravy or sausage gravy.

Overall it is such a neat little place with excellent food. Just make sure when yiu go, you wear your best stretchy pants!

Great food and friendly staff. Buy and support local. World-class quality service. Blueberry pancake our all-time favorite. We decided to try their dinner menu and it was a superb meal. UPDATE 3/2021 Business now open for dine-in, take-out, pick up, order ahead or through grub hub and door dash apps. Fantastic and delicious food and service as always. We highly recommend their business.

They were extremely busy because there was the Memorial Day parade downtown Arlington. We sat down in no time at all. Our waitress was super funny. She had been there for eighteen years and we were laughing the whole time .. her jokes are good eatings. ...with as busy as they were, the food was very fresh. Everything was steaming hot, including the gravy that is very impressive to me definitely going back.

Such a cute old school shop with a taste that will about knock you out of your seat. I got the BLT croissant with side salad and my husband got the Philly cheesesteak also just perfectly put together. Yum!!

We have never had to wait to be seated or served. The food is delicious and there is plenty of variety. We love coming here as our get away breakfast of the month. They also sell local honey which is a nice bonus!

My 2 eggs and bacon meal was yummy!! Bacon was crispy like I like it. Waitress was very kind!

We love this place! We go here most weekends for breakfast. This is a true old school, small town cafe. Food is AWESOME and the staff are friendly and fast. The mimosa's are fantastic!!!

THE BOMB! Generous portions and flavorful and they thought of everything! Even the ketchup for my to go order for my hash browns. I will definitely tell anyone who'll hear it to go and they will for surely see me again. Thank you Blue Bird and my boyfriend who bought me breakfast! Made my morning ☺👍♥

A classic dinner with amazing food and a wonderful staff. Everything we had was excellently prepared. And bottomless coffee!

I love this place and the food. Generous portions. Love the fries! This is my second time coming to this cafe and will come back again.

We ordered to go, chicken fried steak and Reuben sandwich, both were excellent. The service were great, we enjoyed our food @ the beautiful Twin Lakes. Also try their fresh made pies.

I have visited the Blue Bird many times over the years and it has been consistently a good experience. Breakfast is my favorite meal there. Prices are reasonable. Parking is free and typically ample.

This was our second time eating at the Blue Bird Cafe. Amazing Hand Pressed Chicken Fried Steak! Not only is the food amazing,the staff is amazing. Fast service and GREAT FOOD! We went on Saturday morning October 24, 2020 and they had ONE waitress. At most places this would be a problem, even if it was slow. Not a problem for this ONE AMAZING waitress. She NEVER stopped moving, everyone was happy and no one was left behind. The rest of the staff was AMAZING too. Can't wait to visit Arlington again, so we can eat at the Blue Bird Cafe.

Stopped by for brunch on a Friday. The staff was very friendly, and service was quick given that the place was full. Food here was exceptional. I've tried the biscuits and gravy at many places, and these folks have it nailed. Their thick biscuits tasted fresh, warm, and fluffy. As for the gravy, it was smooth, had the perfect consistency, and was flavorful without being too rich or salty. In true diner form, the portions were somewhere between generous and gargantuan, challenging for me to finish even in the midst of a 100-mile bike ride. The food pictured + bottomless coffee came to $10 before tax and tip. This is simple food, flawlessly executed, at a reasonable price.
