Kajun Seafood restaurant in Dawsonville

They know how to do catfish! My husband and I had the two-piece fried catfish entree and our son had the six-piece fried shrimp entree. All meals came with fries, 2 hush puppies, and coleslaw. The food came out hot and quick. There was a steady flow of customers and everyone got their food quickly. The fish was fried to perfection and tasted great. The fries were crispy and hot. Hush puppies were moist and fried just right. I liked the cole slaw but I generally like it with more vinegar. Very friendly service!

GREAT food! My wife and I were very impressed. The quality of the food was great and it came in large portions. When we went to pick our food up, the restaurant was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. Such a good experience. Try the catfish or shrimp po-boy!

The fried shrimps are the best!!!! Normally I’m not a fan of shrimps but after I tried their fried shrimps I have to say that I love it! Me and my friends ate it all including all of the others food.

We stopped here passing through Dawsonville on our way home from the fall activities at an apple farm. This was our 2nd stop that evening for dinner (1st places' online menu drew us in, but reality provided far fewer choices). We took a chance on Kajun, and it did not disappoint from the food, prep, service, and taste standpoint. The gentleman that took our order, I assume, was the owner. He was very kind and friendly. When you enter the establishment, do not expect to be blown away by the ambiance or comfort of the seating and tables as it was very generic and basic but again, the rest of the experience was on point! The food was great with ample seasoning and flavor! We will definitely stop in again if we find ourselves in Dawsonville!

Disclaimer....my family already devoured half of it 🤣 Great quality and a lot of food for the $$. We got the sample platter to go. It came in a large casserole type dish with a layer of crispy fries on the bottom, 8 small hush puppies, 6 pcs of fish, 10 HUGE shrimp (definitely not chewy at all) and 10 juicy oysters + a few cups of coleslaw. Definitely enough to feed 3/4 as stated or even 5-6. Fish is crispy but not heavy breading, cocktail sauce is flavorful with a kick.

I had my doubts about a seafood place in Dawsonville of all places. I was wrong. I had the mussels with spicy butter and a shrimp basket. They were both delicious. The service was great too. If you're in the area, and enjoy seafood, I would highly recommend you stop. You won't regret it!

Food came out quickly and it was absolutely delicious! Price is good too. I love that they offer grilled option, not just fried stuff.

Looks like a hole in the wall but holy cow! I don't do a lot of reviews but if something is exceptional, I must. This place had the best "Low Country Boil" I have ever had in my life and I have been to New Orleans. The crab just about fell out of the shells, the shrimp was cooked to perfection and even the corn, potatoes and BROCCOLI had a delicious flavor! Sorry no sausage though. The restaurant was clean and the staff accommodating and sweet. I will definitely be back. The messy photo of an empty plate may not be the most appetizing, but it shows how I had to devour it.

This place is truly a gem. It hits my seafood craving everytime. I travel from Braselton when I'm in the area shopping at North Georgia Premium Outlets on 400. I hope they continue to keep their seafood fresh and standards high!!

We were taking our grandson out to dinner tonight to Red Lobster and saw this restaurant right in our home town and decided to give it a try, instead! It was amazing!!! The only change I would make is real forks and wet wipes haha 🥰. Cashier was the sweetest and most helpful! The food was delicious. The restaurant was very clean. We will be back again and again!!! The amount of food was incredible.

Excellent food and beyond excellent service. We tried a variety of the dishes and everything was delicious and flavorful.

Portions are well done, even in the boils. The boil we had wasn't drowning in sauce and was absolutely delicious.

The front staff was one guy but he took orders, verified and delivered the food, bussed tables, cleaned, etc and handled everything very well. He was one of the most polite people we've had as servers.

It is a smaller dining room but it was very worth the visit.

We eat there in February. We will never ever forget this place.
My wife has not stopped talking about her Shrimp dinner to this day! She loves fried shrimp and said this was the best she has had.
I had the catfish and it was awesome. The service was excellent. If we lived in GA we would be there every week.

Don't be turned off by the strip mall type store. This is not a fast food place.

Had to run some errands in Dawsonville, about a 25 minute drive from home. While I was there I stopped by Kajun Seafood to pick up some lunch to go. First time trying one of these places. Ordered the oyster, shrimp & catfish combo that came with fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. There was so much food that I had 2 catfish filets left over. The slaw was how I like it. Mayo based and tasty. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and was really good with the tartar sauce.
The young lady at the counter was friendly. Will definitely be back.

This place exceed my expectations! Food is delicious, perfectly seasoned light and crispy ! I had the combo fry platter with a side of gumbo. I was able to taste the shrimp oysters and catfish throughout my entire meal. The fries were on point the coleslaw was delicious I recommend this place to anyone who is in the mood for seafood and in Dawsonville. The staff was super friendly and the place is also very clean keep up the great work thanks again!

Very good. I had the fried oysters, shrimp, and fish. When I left all I could smell were the fried oysters. Just about couldn't wait the .6 miles back to the house. Service was prompt, food hot and fresh. Not a large dining room but who cares, it was great!

I give it a high rating the food was excellent I had shrimp with rice and hushpuppies and deep-fried oysters dang make sure tasted good

Good. Had a shrimp poboy. Solid. Would have it again. Little to much mayo and tomato for my preference. Shrimp was good nice crisp fry, not greasy.

All the low reviews are never about the food, because it's amazing. I've never had an issue with customer service there. They have always been nice and courteous. As for their food, I'm obsessed with their shrimp po boy. Huge shrimp on the sandwich, the sauce is amazing, and the bread is PERFECT! The fries in the combo have always been nice and crispy. There isn't anything that I could recommend to make that sandwich better. Love it!

The best new(ish) restaurant in Dville! The fried shrimp, fried catfish, po'boys, and even fries, are so delicious! We've been twice and it's just perfect, especially for the price. The customer service is top notch and this little spot is super clean. I wish I could eat out more!
