Castle in the Country Bed & Breakfast Inn

My wife and I stayed there and it was a beautiful location. The staff was very friendly and really helpful with ideas for the local area for site seeing and eating. The room was incredible and had a great mix of old and new to make the stay very enjoyable. The grounds and walking paths were very nice, and the lake was beautiful. We both really enjoyed spending a couple hours in the igloo one night, as well as just sitting outside and enjoying the wildlife and views. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious!!!

I booked this trip as a surprise for my fiancé’s birthday and we had the best time. The Romeo and Juliet suite has such a romantic vibe, the jacuzzi was our favorite amenity. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the fire place made the room so cozy. We had breakfast delivered to our room each morning and the food was great. We got the couples massage and it helped us relax so much more. Dinner at Schaendorf was great and we were able to have a romantic dinner at Salt of the Earth. Staff was wonderful at this B&B. Everything was perfect. Having a picnic in the outdoor igloo was a fun part of our Saturday afternoon. We will definitely be back, especially when the weather warms up. So much to do, we wish we could’ve stayed longer! Thanks to the staff for creating such a fun and enjoyable experience!

My now husband and I visited castle in the country for our elopement. We chose the enchanting elopement package and it was perfect. Everything was simple and was booked and planned for us. I sent pictures how I wanted my bouquet and boutonnière to look and they were made identical! We were sent a list of restaurants to chose from for dinner and reservations were booked for us (we chose salt of the earth and it was very good). When we arrived we were greeted and then explained everything that would take place during our stay and during our elopement. We were actually given a very clear print out of everything talked about with times so there was no guessing, as a big planner I really appreciated this! The room was very clean and cozy( we stayed in the Camelot suite). We had our ceremony indoors followed by cake cutting and then pictures outdoors in the snow. We chose to upgrade our photos package and took pictures several places on the property. Pictures were emailed to us the following morning and came out great!
We were delivered breakfast to our room both mornings we were there and the food was great! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay and elopement easy, stress free, and enjoyable! Everyone at the castle in the country was extremely friendly and welcoming, including the officiant and photographer that they booked for us. We are so glad we chose the castle in the country for our special day!

Room was phenomenal other than some small problems that could be mostly overlooked. We didn't interact with many workers but Spencer checked us in and he was very accommodating after the owners originally were not over the phone. Location was great if your looking for peace and quiet but not much to do in the area as we were in the off season.....unless you want to get hammered as there are plenty of breweries and wineries, just bring a designated driver that can spot the Amish with their horse powered carts and your good to go.

I am so glad I found this place and booked a couple days here for our honeymoon. This place was perfect. The staff was so kind and generous to us. Spencer went above and beyond in providing us with information and even making our dinner the first night which was amazing. The couples massage was perfect and great way to relax as newly husband and wife. Every couple needs to find the time to come up here in the fall at some point in there life. The trails with the leaf colors is gorgeous and calming. We will definitely be back in the future as this place will always hold that great memory of our honeymoon and we can definitely say it is the perfect honeymoon spot in michigan.

My wife and I stayed here for our 17th anniversary. We stayed in the Kingdom suite, which was phenomenal. Such a beautiful room. We added the celebration package and thoroughly enjoyed the massages and food. Every meal was delicious, filling, and so well thought out. Top notch room, top notch food, and top notch staff. It was also our first BnB, which set the bar high.

We stayed the weekend of 11/17/23 for our honeymoon and it was incredible! We got there late after check-in times because of traffic, but that was so okay because they have a great late check in process. We stayed in the Romeo and Juliet suite and it was everything we could have imagined. Breakfast was top tier and the jetted hot tub was our favorite. It was so nice to relax around the room. Their recommendations for dinner were the best, we went to Butchs Dry Dock in Holland and it didn’t disappoint. Went walking on all the trails after check out and it was absolutely lovely. Also the cookies in the kitchenette were amazing. Will totally be coming back for our anniversary. ❤

My husband and I got married on 10/27/23 and decided to stay here for our honeymoon! We are so glad we did. After an extremely busy wedding month, the only thing we wanted to do was relax. We got massages, walked the beautiful trails, ate locally, and didn’t even need to move from bed to eat breakfast! The view from our room was gorgeous. This getaway was just what we needed and we will be back for an anniversary in the future! We already want to go back!

10 out of 10 by far. All the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Quick to respond to inquiries. The room was immaculately clean and tidy and we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. Definitely coming back in the future.

We had a wonderful weekend! Came up for a friends wedding and decided to make it a romantic birthday trip as well! As someone with Celiac they were really great about my diet needs. We will definitely come back for another weekend! Love it so much!

Very nice get away. Breakfast was good. The room we had was clean. Got the package for Breakfasts delivered to the room, picnic basket lunch with a bottle of wine and the couples massage. It was all worth it. Nice walking trails that end up by the water.

Phenomenal hospitality. The staff is very passionate and willing to ensure you have a great experience both on and off the premises. The cleanest bed and breakfast we’ve ever stayed in, great breakfast, and local recommendations.

A treasure! They truly set things up for couples to have a romantic experience! My husband and I stayed here for our 20th anniversary. Our room, the King Arthur Suite, had so much character with gorgeous windows! The owners have extremely high standards for room and grounds and foods. Cleanliness and towel quality are two big items for me and Castle did not disappoint! The staff treats you like old friends that they want to help in any way they can. We took them up on many of their recommendations while they helped us plan our visit before and during our trip. Castle in the Country had a great central location with multiple cities to visit during the day but you could also choose to just stay on the grounds and walk the trails and use the paddle boats. We are so glad we found them and we can't wait to go back! Also, don't forget to grab one of the packages they offer with massage, picnic and dinner voucher options! That was a great combo for us!

This past weekend was our first time at Castle in the Country Bed & Breakfast. Long story short: It was amazing! The Castle Keep is located on +/- 65 acres, and there is complimentary paddle boats and kayaks for the guests to utilize. The staff was very friendly and informative, providing recommendations in nearby cities: Holland, Saugatuck, etc. We stayed in the Romeo & Juliet suite, and it was wonderful. Nice, spacious jetted tub and a unique interior design. Highly recommend getting the Royal Treatment package as well - the breakfast was tasty and all ingredients were local. The 1-hour massage was refreshing. All in all, I highly recommend Castle in the Country. We will be back!

Celebrated our 45th anniversary here! Beautiful place, staff so friendly! Short drive to Lake Michigan in South Haven- perfect place to walk and run!

Enjoyed our mini honeymoon at Castle in the Country and could not have had a better time. We enjoyed the grounds as well as a dinner in a nearby town arranged for us by Castle in the county. Selecting one of their packages was also great. We were provided with a wonderful picnic lunch, couples massages and a beautiful welcome gift. Breakfast delivered daily to our room was amazing. Spencer does a great job with all of the cooking (his fresh daily scones are to die for) and he is always available if you need him. Would highly recommend staying at Castle in the Country. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stumbled upon this place on accident while looking for places to go for our honeymoon and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Staff was very helpful when it came to booking our room and big thanks to Spencer for calling me personally to help us upgrade our room since they saw we were going here for our honey moon and it really shows how they look at their customers best interest! We stayed in the Sir Lancelot suite and it was a gorgeous suite that came with many great amenities like a two person jacuzzi, a cozy fireplace, and a nice view of the pond. My wife and I also enjoyed the outdoor amenities like the walking trail that lead to the large lake which offered free kayaking/paddle boating, and a romantic outdoor patio with fairy lights setup next to the pond! All rooms also came with free breakfast which was very delicious and taste like something out of a gourmet restaurant! The staff was also very kind and friendly and it made the place so much more comforting and homey. Overall, my wife and I feel that we came to the perfect place for our honeymoon and even bought a mug as a souvenir for our trip. We will definitely be back in the future!

My husband had stayed twice now at the Castle! This is the most charming, peaceful, romantic, and impeccably clean B&B. Every detail about the property has so much thought into it. We have done two different packages, the most recent was the celebration package and to have breakfast served to you each day in your room was heaven! We just celebrated our Anniversary here and it was nothing short of perfect. The staff were incredibly kind, the food we had was beyond delicious and the room was so cozy and clean. If you are looking for your own little Hallmark movie weekend getaway- This is the place!! I already want to go back (for the third time!) We also were given the best suggestions on nearby restaurants, we were able to go into South Haven to eat at Taste and it was such a great experience. Thank you Castle in the Country- I am still thinking about our stay, even though I am back to reality!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! All staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were always available to us. The room was very spacious, clean, and relaxing. The bathroom in the room was also clean, had plenty of towels and any toiletries we might need. The breakfast was delicious! The grounds were beautiful and very relaxing. My husband and I had a wonderful time at Castle in the Country!
