The Glass Onion Griddle

One of our favorite breakfast spots! Excellent omelettes and local Great Lakes coffee. Monthly specials that coincide with the season. Tried the game day pizza and tots from the September menu. Lots of outdoor seating which is open April-October, depending on the weather. Closed on Mondays.

Was so good we had to come back the next day! The coffee is really good, the eggs are super fluffy, and the staff is so friendly!

Went here with my mother in law one morning before going out house hunting. The food and service was great. Seemed a little small on the inside but luckily we literally got there right in time and did not have to wait at all. I think they had a rush right before we got there and they started getting another after about 20 minutes of us being here so you could tell the place was a pretty popular choice. I’d for sure go back here and if your in the area you should too!

We have eaten here a number of times for breakfast. We just happened to find the restaurant on a trip doing some running around. The monthly specials keep us coming back to this international destination. They are always so unique, and very tasty!

Everything is served hot, and the presentation is excellent. The coffee is very good too. There is plenty of parking in the area and that shouldn't be a concern. I would definitely stop in if you are in the area.

We decided to find a cute breakfast spot, and my boyfriend picked the glass onion. We aren’t from the area, so we had no idea what it was. And it was incredible. We walked in and were greeted by the sweetest lady that took us to our table. Our waitress was SO CUTE and was so attentive! The food was incredible. He had the French toast and I had a skillet. The gravy—- now that’s the kind of gravy I like! I also love that they have sourdough and gluten free bread options. The food came out scorching hot so it was FRESH and we were being checked on by people who weren’t even “supposed to be.” It felt like a big family in there. I hope I find myself in the area again soon just so I can go😊

We ate here for the first time today and all I can say is I am impressed! It looks like any normal diner from the outside, but it’s warm and welcoming on the inside. The food was absolutely amazing. We had almost no leftovers (and I took 3 kids!)
I would highly recommend them for any breakfast/lunch type meal.

Very filling. I pressed on and stuffed myself by going for the onion soup since I am from out of town so knew would not be back soon. Definitely worth trying. Nice mix of flavors and nothing overwhelming so that was great. Nice little mom and pop kind of place. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.

Delicious, neat, and fresh, tasty food! Love coming here :) Cute little local cafe, and I love how they have a monthly specials menu too =D. Recommend coming on a weekday though for no wait, forgot a place like this would be super busy on weekends lol

I go here often for breakfast or lunch, the food is always exceptional and I love the various options they have for breakfast. You can pretty much tailor a breakfast to anything you want. The pancakes are always on point; some of the best and sweet. Waitresses are always kind and attentive. I go out of my way to eat there even on my days off, and the coffee is great. 5/5

This place was amazing... The food was wonderful! The place was as cleaner than any restaurant I have ever been in, even the bathroom, and that says a lot about a restaurant.... The staff was pretty dam awesome as well... They were accommodating, professional, and sweet.... The prices were extremely affordable, and the portions were just right....This place is a 10 out of 10 for me ... I live 45 min away and would come here on a regular basis...

OMG. This place is delicious. By far the best potatoes and they have a fun twist on their eggs. Their meat is their masterpiece. If you want an out of the box breakfast this is the place. The meals are big to they make great leftovers. We will be back.

Food and service were both great. I had the veggie eggs Benedict and my husband had the gravy and biscuits. The gravy and biscuits had a DIFFERENT kind of taste to them but were still good. We will be back one day if we are in the area.

You can enter from the front or rear. Cute family diner. All the staff is friendly. Checked on us several times. The food came out extremely quick. The stuff French toast wasn’t overly sweet and the turkey sausage was fresh (not frozen). The American sandwich was on point.

Quiant family owned restaurant located in downtown Allen Park. Use the freshest ingredients with local vendors. Fluffy omelets, great breakfast sandwiches. Can eat inside or out during warm times. Efficient service. Not a greasy spoon. Prices reflect that but higher quality food. Nice atmosphere. Great place to grab a bite and worth a little drive if not in the city.

This was my 2nd time eating at The Glass Onion, and this afternoon took my family. My husband and I thought the food was phenomenal, especially the onion soup! He had breakfast, an omelet he created, I had lunch, onion soup and the Double Ruben sandwich with homemade chips. My son had the Polish sliders. All were delicious and we can't wait to return to try something else.

Went here for our wedding anniversary brunch. Been following them for a while on Instagram and finally came to try! Diner style restaurant with good breakfast/brunch/lunch. I don’t eat pork so them having a lot non pork options was a plus! I got short rib hash and pancakes which were AWESOME! Husband got the triple threat sandwich which has cornbeef, beef brisket and pastrami. That sandwich taste like more! Will be back soon!!

I wanted to try a new restaurant for brunch. This was my first visit and I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and they were knowledgeable about the menu. It was a beautiful day and I was able to sit at a table outside with an umbrella for shade. They suggested the special which at the time was the Pumpkin Spice Beignets... 😋DE...LI...CIOUS!!!! The meal I ordered was fresh and very tasty. Thank you to the staff and to the cooks! Great job!!! I'll definitely be back.

I'm soooo mad that I haven't eaten here sooner!!! Everything was fresh !! Corned beef hash was amazing!! Belgium waffle was perfect !! Potatoes were on point!! My brother even said the pancakes tasted like donuts!! Delish!! Can't wait to try something else!!! 😋

My wife and I love this place! We have been here many times and have never eaten a bad meal or had bad service. The seasonal special menu is awesome. The game day pizza and loaded tots were my absolute favorite. Couldn't go wrong with the stuffed French toast, either!

We went on a Saturday and waited about 10/15 minutes.

The place was pretty busy but the hostess and servers were great and got us checked in quickly

Small place but has some outdoor tables as well as a small bar type area.

Ordered the French toast and the American sandwich.

The American sandwich was excellent 👌
The French toast in my opinion was a little dry but my girlfriend loved it.

Will definitely be back again.
