Mom's Cafe

Ordered a delivery thru Uber Eats. What a gem of a place! The fried catfish was easily the best I have ever tasted! The outer cornmeal coating and seasonings used were perfection. It was cooked exactly right, a bit of a crunch biting in and the inside so nice and flaky- I highly recommend it! The description only gave the option on picking one side, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it also came with a side salad and soup! The country potatoes were like homemade potato chips only better, soft but crispy at the same time. The vegetable beef soup was outstanding and most definitely not out of a can. The portion was generous and I loved every single thing about this entree.
We also ordered the hamburger steak and while it was delicious I was a bit underwhelmed overall. After opening the catfish to go box and seeing the portion size then opening the hamburger steak, there was a distinct difference. Yes it also came with soup and salad, however the hamburger steak was almost hidden under grilled onions and mushrooms and a bit on the small size. I wish it would have also come with a potato option.
Overall I was extremely satisfied with Mom's Cafe. They are a breakfast/lunch cafe, I wish they had some extended hours for dinner - if the rest of their menu is half as good as what I ordered I could eat there multiple times a week!

Amazing food. Pancakes were so fluffy. Great service and atmosphere. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The carmel chocolate iced coffee was to die for! Can't wait to go back!

Long time diner. It’s getting expensive to eat there, same as other places. It’s a vicious cycle of inflation causing prices to go up, then people eat out less and then business fail.
Anyway, the veggie omelette was good. I like the way the broccoli stays crunchy. The cabbage hash browns are great.
Hubby liked his corn beef hash order but said the biscuit needs to be better. He said it’s like a Bisquick type biscuit. Needs to be flaky or something.

This is a very good place to have a nice, quiet breakfast. The food is delicious and the service was good. Owner really tries to help out the local youth with jobs and encourages bettering themselves through education and work. We can really get behind a business that has that kind of impact on the local community! Thank you, Mom's Cafe!

Friends love this place and suggested we try it out. We came in and really liked the decorations on the wall, very cool indeed. The menu can be completely overwhelming as there are so many options to choose from. I liked all the differences. Since we arrived at brunch time my wife got the French toast and I got the Cowboy Chicken.

The plate was huge and full of food which was awesome. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. The chicken and breading was awesome. I loved the hashbrowns, as they were just the right crisp.

My wife thought the French toast good, but could have been a bit more crispy. The bacon was great as well. The prices are between 10-20 a plate which seems to be the norm lately. We did see people get the peach tea and a frappe which bother look delicious and something to get next time

The staff was very nice and attentive.

This was a random stop by for us. We were searching for a taco place, couldn’t find it and boy am I soooo glad we didn’t! Honestly, before we walked in I thought we were going to be eating at a diner (classic American diner food). Could have been exhaustion from the heat, or maybe how the decor on the outside is, but we had no idea what was waiting for us on the inside, and it saddens me to think if we didn’t stop we would have missed out on a great meal and meeting great people. When you walk in you are greeted with big hole hearted smiles. Once sat at a table the manager (I believe that was his title), Francisco, was friendly attentive and just overall a wonderful human being. You felt immediately loved and after working outside and feeling the stress of the week, this is just what was needed. Then, we ordered and the food came. Holy cow guys! It was amazing! I ordered the breakfast burritos with their homemade chorizo and home potatoes! Amazing!!! Ate every last bite! My friend ordered the Guajillo Chilaquiles… moment of silence as we devoured our food.

Living nearby, I drive by this place all the time. My wife and I have been wanting to try it out for a while. We recently got a chance to have breakfast here, and I am definitely not disappointed! The food choices are uniquely southern, and quite delicious! I love the decor, how it builds a calming and comfortable atmosphere! If you haven't taken a moment to eat here, you're missing out, bub! I would suggest brunch!

2021: Best breakfast experience in Allen. Great food ranging from Mexican and American breakfast standards at a high quality, and the nicest manager around. I've visited a couple of times this past month and been amazed at all the food. They have perfect pancakes with a crispy outside but soft and cakey inside, and the egg varieties are all exquisite. The service is beyond spectacular, as it is hard to leave without a smile on your face. Probably one of the best eating experiences around town—I very strongly recommend.

Update 2022: I came back recently. Still the best around town. The food is amazing. Cafe de Olla or Mexican coffee is still one of the best coffees I've had.

Update 2023: Mom's Cafe is a must when I'm in the area. Absolutely wonderful food, service and atmosphere. Francisco keeps adding fresh new things on the menu and they are worth coming back for. I recommend the new cinnamon roll pancakes for those with a sweet tooth!

Love the Mexican coffee. Best coffee in Allen. Try the cabbage hashbrowns. Good breakfast. Love the lunch specials. The cobbler is great too.
The wait staff is super friendly. The owner is nice and frequently says hello to his patrons.

Friend staff, my wife and love go for breakfast. They have a home made pumpkin spice latte that’s a great way to start your morning. With cinnamon bread French toast and bacon.

What a charming place this turned out to be. I visited one cold, rainy, January morning. I was at once taken by the cozy atmosphere. It's very warm and inviting, and the server was kind and attentive. The food is also very good. Long live Mom's Cafe!

i love this place, decided to go here to eat brunch. the service was top tier, wonderful staff that make you feel welcomed. as well as great food. will definitely come back.

my husband and i were running errands in the area, and needed to kill some time for shops to open so we stopped in for breakfast. it was a random pick of the bunch, and soooo glad we came. we were greeted by a very nice gentleman, who seated us and also put a small heater on to warm our area up! we ordered our food from our very attentive waitress, and man let me tell you was it the bomb. breakfast is my favorite meal so this being as great as it was took me over the top! they even gave us complimentary espresso shots of a mexican espresso made with cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate. so freaking good. anyway, sorry for the life story, but i hope if this is a place on your list to check out, that you do! 10000% worth it.

Best breakfast we’ve ever had! My 3 kids loved it as well! Great service! Nice employees. Best chicken batter and pancake batter and bacon we’ve ever had. The Mexican coffee is great too!

Great food and service. A little loud on Father's Day but all was good! Great place to get a bite to eat.

The owner Francisco treats you like family. The place has an international feel bringing in the best of Mexico and local cuisine. You must try the Mexican style coffee with cinnamon and vanilla. Deliciousness. You must experience this local family owned diner to feel the pride of ownership and exquisite service. I loved it.

We just sat down and man….i gotta say we are already impressed. Greeted like family.

Now for the big wow factor. I myself do not like coffee. BUT!!! The mexican coffee…my god…delicious!!!

We've been coming here for years, but never consistently. That said, we're always happy when we eat here. Superior service yesterday and awesome hearty breakfast. The cowboy chicken was big and tasty. I'm sure it's in violation of any diet you may be on.

This is a future franchise. The best taste of a home cooked meal with great authenticity. Superbly prepared cooked and seasoned
