Donald Chavez was so kind, polite, and enthusiastic. We unknowingly entered his store just as he was about to close but he kept his store open for us and explained the many different items he had for sale, and then shared his own recipes with us! Mr. Chávez is a true gem with a wealth of knowledge and experience, and his store is a well-stocked delight.

A “must stop” market in Southern Colorado offering an authentic selection of fresh Mexican dried chilies, spices and other ingredients found nowhere else. The owner is happy to pair these fresh offerings with traditional recipes. If you are into Mexican and Hispanic cuisines and like to cook, the Chavez Market will become your go-to place to stock up on essentials.

Owner Donald Chavez is the nicest man you will meet. Very attentive to his customers! Chile, beans, chico's, lamb is sold in this little quaint Southwest Market!

Donald is customer friendly, he goes above and beyond for his customers. The shop also carries lots of great antiquities and collectibles. I get excited every time I stop by because he has new collectibles in his shop!
