Even though there were minor things wrong with our order I would definitely visit it again. My wife ordered the classic breakfast and I had their biscuits and gravy as you can see in my picture it has BIG pieces of sausage and good flavor, the hash browns were a little under done but still delicious Jenny our waitress was quite attentive. She kept our coffee cups full

Great breakfast spot! Highly recommend checking this place out. I have to admit… they have the most flavorful and delicious sausage patties I have ever had in my life… YUM!

Service with a friendly smile. Meal prepared quickly, decaf hot and delicious. Checked on a couple times and got my check without asking! And the Cafe was busy at half full!

Worked here back in the late 70's early 80's when my parents owned it. Plan on making a trip back to where I graduated and go back to a place that served the best food in the area. Wonder if that 51 lb 51 inch Muskie still hangs on the wall. See ya soon !!!

We stopped in for breakfast and it was not disappointing!
I had the special... Eggs Benedict with homemade hash browns and coffee.
It was delicious! Their hash browns are light and fluffy, yet crispy (I never know that was possible. Lol).
The classic breakfast he ordered was really good too. Over easy eggs were cooked perfectly.
Would definitely recommend.

3 of us went for Saturday breakfast, the food & service was amazing! We had 2 orders of eggs Benedict & one classic breakfast, everything was super tasty, especially the homemade sausage patty! Thank you!

Always a good experience. Wide variety menu and good food no matter what you order. Every vacation we take up North, we always stop here. The staff are on top of everything and mix it up with the customers which everyone enjoys. Good chance to meet and talk with the locals in Walker. (what a great town!)

***Expect this place to be busy and you may have to wait in line, especially on weekends during tourist season. Keep in mind during those times that the wait staff and cooks are trying their best to accommodate everyone. Just be patient.

Excellent experience. We came in with 8 adults, 3 children, and 1 infant and they sat us right away. We had prompt service and drinks came out right away. We all ordered different breakfasts and the food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. The complementary coffee with the meal tasted great and they were frequently asking us if we wanted refills. The wait staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food was fantastic - huge portions and excellent flavor. We had a great all around experience and would recommend to all for a great, classic Walker experience.

The breakfast was delicious. I'll definitely be going back tomorrow for more breakfast. Most places you will go to for breakfast would not giving an omelette as Outdoormsman Cafe would. It was sufficiently packed with vegetables. If you like crispy toasty in a good way hash browns this is the place to go as well. Thank you for taking your time in making the breakfast tasteful.

Small cafe, but the food was delicious. Haven't found a biscuits and gravy that reminded me of home in MN until now. Highly recommend. Friendly employees, average prices, quality food. Will be going back!

My girlfriend and I stayed in Walker over Valentine's weekend. We went to downtown Walker and found this gem. The food was simply amazing. The staff was over the top friendly and helpful. The waitress, Jenny, was one of the best we have ever seen. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place if you want some good food and a friendly atmosphere. We cannot wait until we can come back to Walker and go back to the Outdoorsman Cafe.

Best hash browns by far! Try them with the eggs Benedict 🤤. Wish I could get there more often.

Awesome breakfast with “to die for” hash browns !! Stopped on my way out of town today after visiting Walker for a few days and stopped for breakfast. I had the Western Omelet and my friend the Veggie ! Clean plate for both of us !! Service was awesome on all staff too, highly recommended .

I took my wife to breakfast on a random Tuesday morning and the place was bustling. The establishment was almost packed, which surprised me for an off the wall day. The business is the everyday small diner feel decorated with the lakeside cabin touch. They have high ceilings and is well lit. The Outdoorsman seemed very clean, and even the restrooms were wiped down. We sat down at a booth with a few dirty dishes; however, we did just see the previous customers leave. Within seconds a staff came over cleaned up the table and took our drink order. We waited about 5 minutes before they took our food order. I am not sure how long it took for the food to come out of the kitchen (I was enjoying my company). It did not seem long. I had ordered the steak and eggs with hash browns and toast. The eggs and steak were cook perfectly to order and were still hot when they arrived. I do not eat hash browns normally do to how they cooked, but The Outdoorsman Cafe cooked them with real butter, and were a great combination of crispy and well heated. Between my wife and I's order it only came to twenty dollars. Both of us left completely satisfied. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is either driving through, or staying in one of the local resorts.

Attention! There are a ton of bad reviews about rude service. I am from Sioux City, IA and we were greeted with nothing but great friendly service and SUPER fast and delicious food. We are a family of four and they had our plates to us in less than 10 minutes, our waitress was a sweetie...busy but went out of her way to chat a bit with us and took time to make my young daughters smile. Food was delicious too. 5 stars hands down.
