The caves are beautiful right now. The paths are a little slick. I walked it in Hey Dudes but I had to hold onto trees and such on certain parts when people with Trax on their boots went with ease. There is a bathroom at the parking lot.

No charge, but there's a spot to give donations, please do. I do recommend bringing ice cleats. The only way I made it up to the cave was by climbing up in the creek.

Most important, when you get close you will see cats parked on the side of the road. KEEP GOING! If you keep going straight for a 1/2 a mile or so there is a big parking lot with a bathroom. Parking is free, or by donation. And it's right next to the trail head. At first it's pretty flat but then it gets pretty hilly in spots. Ice cleats aren't a must but definitely help. Absolutely beautiful.

Lots of free parking. Modern outhouse. Dog friendly. Property owners were selling bottled water & hot choc for $1 each. I think they should sell T- shirts too "I survived the Eben Ice Caves"! Plan on 1-2 hrs for the hike in & back. Wear ice cleats on your boots, if possible. Take at least one ski pole, if you're in your 60's, like us. The 1st half of the hike is flat & easy, but the 2nd half is icey & hilly. Had to sit & slide on my butt at least 3x to avoid wiping out & we had cleats & a pole to help! There's a ravine next to parts of the trail, which is a little scary. It is a cool natural winter wonder! GPS found it fine. Recommended donation $5.

Amazing! We adventured here a few times now and absolutely love it! The walk thru the trees to get to the ice caves is beautiful, definitely worth the trip. I took us about 2 hrs round trip, I would recommend ice cleats.

Great place but always gets really busy. Beautiful between the crowds tho. Bring cleats! Don't say you weren't warned!

Beautiful hike! I'd call a medium difficulty trail, ice cleats are a must. The trails gets more icy the closer you get to the the caves. I took my dog and saw plenty of other dogs on the trail also. Takes about 1.5 to 2 hours round trip. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend stoping here!

Until we get more snow this is slippery 1-10-21. I would not recommend taking small kids, not this year. And you can't see anything unless you can get up the hill. Little snow has made it very slippery. There are snow cleats for rent. It is a beautiful walk if you ok with not being able to get to the caves.

This definitely worth the 1 1/4 mile hike back. It's a fairly easy hike IF you have ice cleats and are somewhat agile. There are a few spots that are steep and slippery. It was busy when we went a few days ago, so we had to park a ways down the road. It was really neat to see. So pretty!

A 1.2-mile hike to the ice caves (2.4 miles round trip) that increases with difficulty as you get closer to the caves. You will go across flat farmland, up and down hills and, a steep incline at the end. We visited in mid-December, so there was more limited snowfall, less ice, but a bit muddier.

The path is well marked in the beginning but becomes less obvious along the way. Exercise caution when crossing the footbridge as it has seen better days. It is a well worth trip, and we will highly recommend it. Yak-tracks or Cramp-ons are VERY HIGHLY recommended to avoid slipping on the ice/packed down snow. I do not think we would have made it without them.

Easy parking and port-a-potties are available at the trailhead. This is a free adventure, but there is a donation box available. Always remember to leave this beautiful place better than you found it.

This was our first time to the Eben Ice Caves, we had seen alot of photos from there during the day but we decided to hike it for night photos. Its a bit off the road (a little over a mile, I would suggest using some cramp ons for your boots) Once we got back to the caves there were only 2 other people there so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. I would recommend going on "off" times to be able to take it all in.

Beautiful hike down a well packed trail. Spikes for shoes are a good idea. Trail can be tricky at times

So fun this year! It was my second time here! The ice looked really cool! Had a great time walking, climbing and sliding around! It's a really fun day with friends and family and something unique to da UP!

Mother nature sure does beautiful things! Having on yak traxs really saved our butts since most of the surroundings by the caves were just pure ice. The hike itself was decently short but the steep hill up to the cave was a muscle burner!

Beautiful spot. Definitely plan ahead and wear proper boots and spikes/cleats. Its do able in street shoes but your feet will be frozen and there's slippery slopes. I fell several times in my justin boots. Made it, but definitely feeling it the next day. My 3 year old made it but had to be carried the last half mile back. Bring a sled if you have small kids.

The caves were a truly beautiful experience. A winter wonderland worth the hike. The hike is not an easy trek. Even with cleats the hills are extremely daunting. The hike up to the caves had many difficult treks and hills that are difficult to go up and down. Not for the faint of heart but well worth the experience.

Interesting hike. Be sure to look to the right as you get close so you don't miss the turn. Be sure to donate so they keep the access open.
