If you’re looking for a nice getaway with a river on your shoulder and beautiful breathtaking bluffs on the other, do not hesitate to stay here!! The owner is an absolute darling who's very friendly and kind. The entire town radiates friendliness despite how small they are, and there’s so much to do in town for history buffs, nature lovers, or just anyone looking for a beautiful stay out of the city.

Absolutely charming and comfortable! If I hadn’t been flying home I might have tried to bargain to buy some of the antique decor. My only regret was that I was there in Nov and it was too cold to enjoy the garden. The proprietor was also very welcoming, with lots of advice for what to do, and good stories. Note: the train runs right along the city of Alma, so if you’re a light sleeper, it might not be the place for you. But that’s the whole town, not the hotel in particular!

what a great place to relax, see their beautiful garden and browse through their used decorative items. We drink coffee and their scrumptious ice cream. We have toured the hotel rooms but never stayed. It is in the heart of Alma, WI with a lock and dam, scenic overlook, Mississippi River and a winery.

Unique and elegant decor in all the rooms. Spent 4 nights in the hotel. Dan (the owner was exceptionally accommodating). But the best part of the stay was the staff - the Greeks! Kudos to Dominic and Christos for the great food from Christos and the friendly demeanor of bartender Dominic. Would definitely revisit this gem!

Stayed here with my partner on May 6 - 8. The house was lovely and clean, the place has a great history. The location is very close to Buena Vista Park, Kwik Trip, Pier 4 Cafe & Smokehouse, the bakery, Danzinger Vineyards etc. Unfortunately the pizza place was still closed during our visit. The suites did not come with breakfast so we had our breakfast at Pier 4 Cafe, they close at 2pm. The people are very friendly. We had a wonderful time there and we will come back.

Beautiful place to stay. (Lincoln room in the Grand) The courtyard is amazing. Music playing, waterfall trickling. Walking through the house, everywhere you look there is something cool and quirky. The owner was great, we got into town way later than expected and he was nothing but helpful and kind. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!

My wife and I were looking for a 1 night stay on our way home to Texas. We were looking for anything close to the Mississippi in Alma. We call the first hotel that popped up on Google for Alma. The Hotel was empty due to the tourist season being over so we had the pick of the rooms available. We pick the Lincoln room, very unique and comfortable and just across the street form the Mississippi river. The tv was an Amazon tv so need of cable if your an amazon subscriber. we had a queen bed that was the most comfortable bed of our trip. Our stay there was one of the highlights of our trip and plan on a longer stay here on our next trip.

Adorable coffee shop with excellent customer service. High quality delicious ice cream and high quality coffee. The iced coffee I ordered had coffee ice cubes, so that the drink wouldn’t become watered down as it melted. What a pleasant surprise! Now that’s good service. Stopping here definitely made my day :)

It is such a combination of elements that made my stay at the hotel so lovely. All of the staff are super friendly and very helpful. The rooms themselves are each a different personality and they all have personality in spades. I had a beautiful weekend with my best friend and the hotel played a huge roll in that.

I didn't stay overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms, but my visit was wonderful. I stopped by the art gallery on the lower level, and was invited to visit the secret garden out back by the owner. A truly enchanted little spot! Such creativity and attention to quirky details. If I had needed a room that night, I would certainly have asked if there was one available. Even if you aren't looking to stay, do drop by for a look!

What a wonderful experience... from the moment we arrived at this unique property and met the charming and interesting owner, Dan. The attention to detail was over the top, rooms were so authentic - we were whisked away to Paris! A group of nine women seldom agree on everything - this was a rare exception for us. We all loved our stay! Thank you for taking such good care of us... you and your staff made us feel so welcome. Dinner, drinks and brunch were delicious - and the midnight treat of ice cream will be part of our story for years to come. We will be back.

A blissful winter stay! Need to get away? Need to get off the grid? Need to go back in time? Don't want to drive and take a ferry to Mackinac Island Michigan? Wow the Hotel de Ville is a historical trip back in time at a fraction of the rate! Located in Alma Wisconsin, across the street from the mighty Mississippi this eclectic hotel owned and run by a wonderful person,Dan has many properties near by a bakery, a Pizza restraunt, a ice cream shop, a antique store,And restraunt in first floor of hotel and other lodging options also!
We enjoy every moment we can get him to stop and chat with us! He's a treasure trove of wonderful conservation!
The hotel is less than a dozen or so themed named rooms, each with their own different colection of antiques and nicely modern bathrooms! We choose the top floor with in unit heating unit being winter, and love that in slower winter times you have the choice to pick your own unit! Doors are open so you can peak at the rooms! Summer I can say weekends it will fill quickly but week days would be our choice!
Can't say enough about the owner's hospitality! Rooms CLEAN and neat bathrooms fabulous! Beds comfortable! I highly recommend!

We stayed at Hotel de Ville in October 2019. Outstanding accommodation and hospitality! The suite was furnished with a unique collection of books, furniture & decor. Clean, excellent linens, & comfy bed. Dan was super to work with. Easy checking and check out.

The Hotel de Ville is a gem nestled between the sandstone bluffs of Central Wisconsin and the Mississippi River. If you have a refined eye for style and a sense of humor, you will no doubt enjoy your stay at the Hotel de Ville. The interior design of each suite is a unique mix of carefully selected furnishings and wall art. A full kitchen with quality cookware is a treat to any traveling cook! The beds are quite comfortable and bathrooms are well cleaned. My wedding party was cared for and accumodated beyond expectation. Many thanks to the amazing staff of the Hotel de Ville!

Truly a delight--You must see and enjoy, besides being toasty warm inside to make the yummy ice cream (I understand the brand is Chocolate Shoppe from Madison) a real treat. Plus desserts, and the second only, approximately 3 ft high, copper, still operating espresso machine in the USA. A must experience! And to enjoy the charming round marble top tables, old-fashioned glass counters and humongous cash register. An interesting grotto and English gardens out the back door to boot.

Just left Falcon Lodge. Always look forward every year to see what he has done. Have a great time there with family and friends. Dan has always been great there and helpful. Love his garden and all his rentals. Can't wait till next year. Count days down till our return.

This place is amazing! Every ounce of it has character. The gardens are a must see and the restaraunt The Empire Room is owned by the same owner and has the best food hands down, also lots of gluten free options. Def worth every penny and an unforgettable experience!
