Based on all the great reviews, I drove directly here as soon as my flight from Houston landed. As expected, Great Friendly Service and they gave full attention and answered all my questions. Picked up a couple Rand’s for the stack, had some good ole brief chit chat about cities and unique coins. Keep Up the Great Service. If I’m ever back visiting Asheville I’ll definitely drop back by.

Michael, who's been collecting coins since age 6, is in this business for the love of the craft. It's so obvious by the way WNC Coins feels when you enter the store and with how much care and kindness they treat each client.

My dad's been collecting coins for a lot of his adult life, so when I was looking to sell some BU silver AEs, I was delighted to find Michael. Having sold coins in the past in the Washington, D.C. area, I felt less than impressed with the businesses I was dealing with up there. I found I was often treated great the first time I went in and then the subsequent visits brought anxiety and anticipation of being ripped off, as I had to negotiate harder each time.

This couldn't be further from the case at WNC Coins. Both Terry and Michael are honest and thoughtful. I called once and was quoted over spot, but it wasn't what they had offered me initially, so Terry said to me, "Call back. It goes up and down." The kind of care for the client and expertise found at WNC Coins is unparalleled both locally and regionally.

I've sold metals to Michael a few times. He always offers fair market prices and he skips the horse trading (low ball offers) drama and just gives a good price right up front. His store has a great selection and he is easy and interesting to talk to about the metals industry.

My Mother handed me an old Cigar Tin full to the rim of old coins and said, "Here. Do something with this."
So, after a little research, and after going through what was in the Tin I took my "loot" to WNC Coins. They were very helpful on the phone, and then again when I took the coins into the store for evaluation. They were very upfront, honest and professional. My coins were worth more than I thought, and I left their shop a happy customer.
While I was there I took a peek around the store. They have a lot of great stock. While I am not a collector, they seem to have good inventory and would be a great resource for collectors and those who want to research the coins they have. Highly recommended overall. Thanks guys!

Great shop with a great staff! Fair prices, very transparent, went through every coin, one at a time, and gave me a price for each. If you're looking to add to your collection, sell a few items, or peruse a nice collection of items for sale, this is your shop—no need to go anywhere else. What a wonderful surprise experience I had here! I called a week before asking if they would give me an estimate on old coins that my late parents passed on to us. They suggested I come in and they would "on the spot" give me the value. Once I entered the store front, I notice how clean and meticulous everything was. I was greeted warmly and professionally. They went through my coins (one by one!) and keep a record of what I would receive should I be interested in selling to them. (I had some idea of the value of many of the coins.)

I decided to sell them and not have to deal with the time and effort that would go into searching for other coin dealers and/or on-line actions or Ebay.
I realize they are in business and that I did not get top dollar; but, I choose to sell because of the convenience and I most definitely felt I was being treated fairly. They immediately paid cash.

It's been several weeks and I found additional coins; I will return one day soon to see if they will consider purchasing.

I give it 5 stars! BEST coin shop around. I visited this coin shop not long ago and Michael has a great inventory of coins. I was amazed by his knowledge and he has an absolute passion for his trade. Very honest and nice fellow who knows the coin business well! I would highly recommend this place. Great location and easy to find. Excellent customer service.

The staff is always courteous and friendly. We have some great conversations and they always seem to know what I like when I come in. Pricing is affordable and fair on everything I have bought from WNC Coins. They dont pick on my wife for knowing very little about coins, I would. Stopped here when visiting Asheville - nice store...decent selection..and prices seemed fine.

I did hear the help say some other dealer just cleaned them out a day prior - so the selection wasn't quite what I was hoping - but that appears common in many places anymore...still nice though and probably worth the stop....I did buy a coin.
