Hands-down the best food on the east side of Schroon Lake!
I rode my jetski over for dinner tonight, and the new owner of the Adk General Store is amazing! Super nice, great store environment, and of course amazing food! I will definitely be back:)

This place is what the name says: a store carrying a general pantry and products with a heap of Adirondack charm. I recommend stopping here whether you’re a local on the east-side of Schroon in need of some quick groceries or someone who’s just visiting the area.

They have a small dining area and deli bar which I haven’t tried yet. They also carry a selection of Adirondack-style clothing, knick knacks, and furnishings, though those things, as usual, are a little pricey. The owner and her sister were friendly and made the place a delight.

Breakfast at the ADK General store was amazing. The breakfast sandwich and the pancakes were incredible. The atmosphere is really welcoming and the service was great.

In the fall, the Adirondack General Store does dinners. They offer an uncommon experience that is rare to find these days. If you want a good home cooked meal in a cozy old time general store, this place is it! Diane and Rich are focused on keeping everyone happy and their commitment to friendly service shines through.

What a gem! Great old building. Neat as a pin inside. Great selection of merchandise. Fantastic food and service. Even a deli counter and a cooler featuring Oscar's meats. Just up the hill from Schroon Lake. Stop in for breakfast or lunch - or just to browse.

Loved the Adirondack General Store - we had lunch and it was excellent! Such a cute, old-style, throwback vibe! Don’t miss this gem; they serve breakfast, lunch and delicious muffins! Also sell general supplies and liquor!

Go back in time here, this is such a great place. A little bit of everything, as a General Store should be. Wonderful staff, excellent food, and even beer & wine. Pot Belly Stove as you enter, just the right spot on a fall day. If you're around the Schroon Lake area highly recommend the Rueben!

New ownership has breathed new life to this all-in-one store/restaurant/gift shop. One can purchase one's daily grocery needs or relax and enjoy a delicious, substantial, and freshly cooked meal. Service is both efficient and attentive. This is a 'must see' at the heart of Adirondack.

Amazing place. Their breakfasts are great. We’ve used their catering service (meals to-go) and it’s awesome, too. Good chef.

Very cute convenience store...sells a little bit of whatever you need! The prices are very reasonable.

Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Great deli. Also do catering. We enjoyed our brunch on the deck and bought local honey and cutting boards to bring home as gifts.

Love, love, love this place. We purchased a home down the road in August and have been going to the Adirondack General Store at least once every weekend that we are there for breakfast typically - my go to is the breakfast burrito, my husband's in the ADK, but also highly recommend the corned beef has - best I've ever had and occasionally lunch - wings and reuben are awesome. Everyone there is so friendly and have made us feel welcome in our new community. Great for gifts as well...have purchased a few knick knacks as well as the "Lake Girl" sweatshirts and shirts, xmas ornaments, mugs and jewelry. We also get our weekly deli meat from there (made in house) rather than the processed deli meat from the grocery.

This place is AMAZING! The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is perfection and the staff is authentically kind and hilarious!

The Adirondack general store is your basic tiny lake community one stop shopping store. We rent a cabin a short distance from the store so over the past five years we've gone there many times. This year the store has new management which seems to be more focused and enthusiastic. They offer more dining options there. They have always had lunch but now they're having some dinners. There is a window on the outside of the store where you can get hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream. We had the takeout a couple of times and were very happy.

You will receive really delightful food, both in taste & presentation. It's a cozy place to go especially in the winter time because their wood stove is running. Plus most of all, the owners are warm & friendly. It's a place that you should not miss if you're in the area.

Everything about this place is great, the food comes quick and hot and the store is always clean. They have a wide selection of beer from the basic to local selections also. Also have plenty for the kids and decent souvenirs along with the basic groceries!

The sheer ambiance of the shop with all of its knick knacks and basic needs for tourists in the area combined with an excellent breakfast menu and seating makes this a real gem in the area. Its off the well trodden path and really gives ones a sense of a throw back to the adirondack of old. I highly recommend even just browsing and stopping by.
