This a black owned hair store (which I love) that will order the hair if they don’t have it and I love their products offered, the don’t have an extremely large selection but, I feel like if they’re supported, the selections will come!

Before I begin, people who shop here should know that if you pay with credit card, you get charged 4% ON TOP of the sales tax. They pass that cost on to the customer to save the business money. If it was clearly stated I wouldn’t have such and issue, but when I said I’m paying with card there was no mention of it. There’s a small sign on the glass you can easily miss and when telling me my total price they didn’t state the total with the 4% added on and they handed my receipt to me upside down; it felt like they didn’t want me to notice.

I gave them two stars because besides that, if you have no problem paying the 4%, they are usually well stocked with hair products that are reasonably priced for the most part. Also the staff has been helpful in picking out hair and different products such as gel. Everyone working has been kind and helpful as well.

Despite that, making sure customers know the actual amount that they will be paying is important. When I asked what my total was I was told $15.96 but when I paid I received a receipt for $16.60. It was only when I asked after walking away after paying and seeing the amount that she mentioned that credit cards will be charged 4%

What an absolutely awful experience. Our teenager opened an edge control product and touched the product accidentally when she wanted to see how it smelled- being a typical kid. I was choosing the packs of hair I was going to purchase when this woman (who I assume is the owner) begins yelling across the store about the signage saying not to open or touch products. We apologized and when our kid put the product back on the shelf she became even louder yelling about how we have to pay for the product that was opened. I apologized again and said we would pay for the product but this woman continued carrying on as we walked towards the register. She huffed and puffed this much over a $5 product which I understand is probably an issue she’s had as a business owner but the gross manner in which she communicates reflects poorly on her and her business. I left empty handed - I’m under no obligation to pay for any product that isn’t damaged although I initially considered it as an act of goodwill. She lost out on a sale much larger than $5 but more than that - she earned an additional poor review to an already poor reputation.

I was very disappointed in my experience just hours ago with this place. I purchased a pair of trimmers. I get them home a few hours later and they don't work. No big deal. Things happen. Return them to the store. Didn't bring my receipt and even though it had been purchased maybe 3 hours earlier the employee wouldn't help. Fine. Store policy is store policy. Returned with receipt. Was questioned about whether it was really the correct packaging, whether I had used them because I "looked like I had just shaved". Her words. Not mine. What I thought was just a simple exchange turned into accusations. To me. Unbelievable! In the end I asked for my money to be placed back on my card but of course all sales are final so to end the situation I agreed to swap equipment which is what I wanted in the first place. Of course, after all this, they don't have anything of equal value, and I was forced to pay more money for a product that I did not originally want. My issue is here is not the faulty equipment(based on other reviews I have read, not the first time). My issue is the way I was treated. I came very non chalant just trying to solve a problem. Never in wildest dreams did I think I would be accused of swapping trimmers(who has extra trimmers??!!), accused of shaving already and bringing the wrong packaging. I order these trimmers at least once a year because I hate maintaining them lol...I would rather buy new ones. I usually just order on Amazon and have the next day. On this day, I said to myself I had never been inside and wanted to support small business...🙄. Back to Amazon it is. I have daughters who frequent this place on a very regular basis because they both work at the winn dixie next door. This place will not receive another dollar from my household again. Very sad. I'm guilty of not supporting black owned business enough. And when I try to, this is what happens...

These people do not stand by defective products. They do not respect the people who spend money with them. If you don’t have the money to make your customers whole after selling defective products, then you shouldn’t be in business. Further, to laugh at a customer when they are frustrated with your horrible service and product is beyond disrespectful. I will inconvenience myself and drive further before giving this business another penny.

Severely disappointed in this black owned business! Purchased a what I thought black hair fibers from here, realized it was the wrong color came back the next day I couldn’t even exchange it because the worker from the previous day didn’t give me a receipt! How is this my fault as the customer?! Especially when I bring it back totally unopened?! No manager to rectify the situation was available either, how is this proper business practice?! I’m never coming back here. Be careful shopping here!

I’m here during business hours it opens up at 9:00am I’m here at 10am it’s saying it’s open online and at the store but no one is here I even called no one picked up this is my first time coming here and this store is closer to my house but if there were a sign stating that they will close today that’s fine but it doesn’t so I’m disappointed that’s it’s not open on day they say they are open and communication is key other than that I can’t say other wise didn’t get a chance to go in
