Dollar Car Rental

The agent at the counter was very nice, professional, and quick. I loved the new Kia Carnival. The agent at drop off was also ready when I arrived, was kind, and prompt. I love renting a clean vehicle that has absolutely zero smell of smoke.

We were very pleased with Lazario Talaro' s exemplary service. He was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant. It was early morning when we picked up a rental car at the airport location, Lazario greeted us with a big smile, checked our reservation, gave us a vehicle key, also provided us some good tips. We returned the rental vehicle the same day, the lady (we didn't get her name unfortunately) checked us in was nice and cordial. Overall, the staff at this location was great. We will rent from Dollar at this location again when we return to Anchorage for future trips.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with Dollar Rent A Car! We set up our rental car reservation online through Expedia and Junior was the Dollar representative who helped us finalize everything at the airport. Junior was very friendly and very helpful! He even upgraded our rental car for free! We had reserved a smaller, older SUV and he set us up with a nice, large, new 4Runner for the same price. The car was very clean, comfortable, and easy to drive. Our great rental car experience certainly enhanced our Alaskan vacation!

Not sure what the negative reviews are about. I’ve rented from Dollar at ANC several times and always had a good experience. The prices are higher in the summer but that’s true with any seasonal business. There are taxes added to the rate, but those are government mandated and the total cost was made clear when I booked my car.

What I like best about Dollar (and their sister company Thrifty) at the Anchorage airport is how practical the cars have been for Alaska. Lots of cars come with all wheel drive, snow tires, and even remote start! None of the other rental companies that I’ve rented from there seem to get that a 2 wheel drive econo car with bald tires just isn’t safe in the winter. Dollar’s cars also seem to be newer and have more features than the others too.

I definitely recommend Dollar and will continue to rent from them first when I need a car in Alaska.

Recently my 13 year old son and was were traveling in Alaska for a fishing trip. He had brought his own fly rod, After an 11 hour journey while renting a car he left his rod on a bench. He did not discover this until the next day and at the time could not remember where he had left it. His Father called the rental company that he had used, but no luck. It was a painful week for my son.
Upon retuning the car on the off chance he checked with the surrounding car rental desks and initially no luck,,,,,but what do you know the good people of Dollar came running down the hall with good news! After looking in the back of the office there it was. My son can't thank them enough and neither can I.

Easy online reservation, easy pickup at Anchorage airport, easy return!

Great costumer service, however they charge a 500 dollar deposit regardless if your using a credit card.

I have leased cars dozens of times, each experience has been great.
