Island Cafe

I came to this joint on my recent stint in the WI area. This restaurant is located right off the strip and offers a cozy atmosphere to the small town it resides in.

It was quite busy the morning we dined in for breakfast. I ordered the smoked lox plate which proved satisfying. The salmon was smooth and buttery w/o a strong smoky flavor. Philadelphia cream cheese and a small salad w/an orange slice accompanied the dish to cleanse the palette.

We were immediately seated on a Sunday morning. The table was clean and the server greeted us immediately, asked for our drink order and gave us menus. The items in the display cabinet looked delicious. Our server was awesome. I had the Smoked Salmon Omlete with a side of cream cheese and an everything bagel. My husband had eggs benedict and a side of gravy with a biscuit. It was all delicious and we cleaned our plates.

I recently visited the Minoqua area after a 13 year hiatus. I love this little cafe that appears to be frozen in time.....it looked exactly the same! I ordered a belgium waffle that was perfect! The service and prices are great! Thanks, Island Cafe!!

Absolutely loved the little place. It's so cute and cozy the food was great. The customer service was great. And they have a tea list with some pretty delicious teas. it was awesome. I definitely would recommend it. I had a great first time experience.

Great food, lots of options. Good, quick service from Guse. Scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon and 7 grain bread toast ftw!

I was very impressed by the food I love the gyros, my wife got the chocolate chip pancakes and the atmosphere was calm, and very cute decore on the walls! It's a little on the higher end for price but you know what it's the experience to me that matters!

Delightfully fresh food. The entire bathroom is someone's canvas, done so well!

The staff was great. The food was very good. Good family place too. Large tables. Greek omelet and Monte Cristo. Coffee was great too.

The food makes this place. It's fresh, delicious, and elevated. Every ingredient on the lox bagel plate was well executed and the Monte Cristo was made so much better with the apple fritter. Best meal I've had in Minocqua.

Nice cafe, the French dip sandwich was amazing. It looked so appealing when I got it. I failed to take pictures I ate it so fast.

We had the "Build Your Own Omelette" with Ham, cheese, Spinach and mushrooms. The veggies were very fresh and the omelette was HUGE! Emphasis on the largeness of this dish. Holy moley! Not only is it GIANT they also offer it with many different toast/bread options or pancakes. Since I don't eat carbs ( = Death) I got a dinner salad instead which they did charge me for. But it was beautiful, like a piece of art. But, the omelette was so MASSIVE that I didn't have room for the salad. They were nice enough to offer a to go box and I had it for lunch.

Definitely would recommend this place. It has a home-style feel with fresh flowers on the tables. A very nice touch.

The place was very clean and the service was great. The food was amazing. I didn't have any of there homemade baked goods but they looked delicious.

Such a nice surprise! Passing thru Minocqua and found this gem for breakfast. Enjoyed a fresh plate of lox and bagel with cream cheese on a bed of lettuce with cucumbers, capers, tomato and red onion. Fresh goodness worth the stop!

This is our favorite breakfast/brunch spot. Everything is amazing every year we come!!! Staff is also very friendly and prompt.

Lovely cafe on the main rd, we got there early so it wasn’t too busy, but I imagine in the summers it gets packed. I had the cinnamon roll French toast, it has frosting on it, that is all I need to say about that. 😊

Busy cafe, and certainly worth the wait. The food was perfect, wait staff friendly and courteous. Highly recommend.

This was my favorite place to eat, they had something for everyone. We had a larger group and some were gluten free and vegan 🌻 Worth a stop in for the good "coffee treats" & snacks 🍉
