Books-A-Million

Love the helpful staff and the selection of manga and comic books. My kids will have a lot of fun shopping for books during Christmas time. I like all the pop culture house items like pillows, mugs, etc. It's like a bookstore and Box Lunch all in one.

Good book store with good deals on comics we can’t find at other chain book stores. Bathroom needs fixed and toilet seats replaced.

This book store is great. It's like Barnes and Noble but with a huuuuuge Christian section and an almost as huge Wiccan section. I avoided both.

Fun place to stop weather your looking for something or stretch you legs from car ride!! I love this store and always find something new to read!!

It was not the amazing selection of books, board games, merchandise, fidget toys or even the delightful staff and atmosphere that made me review this establishment, (don’t get me wrong, the selection IS amazing and the staff IS delightful!) I wanted to go on public record and state that Books-A-Million in Ames, IA has the single nicest water fountain on the south side of town. Straight up! The water was cold, clean, and the fountain pressure was perfect for someone as tall as myself. As someone who travels by foot or skateboard 90% of the time, it’s nice to have a relaxing establishment to refresh myself in on hot summer days. Everyone who works there deserves a raise of a billionty dollars!

The workers I've dealt with are very friendly. Smile on their face and all. Was so excited to see Sloth items in the store😁. Makes me one happy camper😁. This was my collection first time around, have made a second trip.

Awesome stuff to choose from and great staff that really knows their stuff, plus super duper friendly.

I'm a huge sucker for bookstores of any kind. I don't have much to complain about, I found what I wanted to buy, which is all I can ask from any store. I just wish the music selection was a little larger.

I worked here for just a few weeks short of 2 years and I had the best time. I am currently looking to work at a bookstore again where I live now because of ho much I enjoyed working here. The people are wonderful and so kind. Paul can be a pain, but I love him all the same lol Lori was quite literally the kindest boss I've ever worked under. I wish more advertising was done so more people knew about it and loved it. No, it's not a barnes and noble, but it's the best bookstore i've ever been to or worked at. Love going back and shopping <3

My favorite place in ames to go for books. If the book store in my home town doesn't have something, here normally does!

It used to be an old Borders and they didn't change the design at all, I think that's really cool because it makes me feel nostalgic to walk in there. Plus they have books!

Love this store! We need more Books-A-Million

I love this place! They have a wide selection of things. I'm not much of a reader and they had options for me that I liked. So, anyone can get something from here. They also have more than just books. There are some cool knick knacks around the store worth buying.
If I was staying in town longer I would have bought more lol

A little pricey but it is definitely worth spending, all use books are in perfect condition. Great variety of books, games, toys, music, movies, manga and more Definitely my favorite place to go:)

I found a book in first 30 seconds of walking in..
In the discount section....I still went in....I could easily have spent an hour in there. But my wife was waiting in car. Great friendly staff.

Nice store and the guy helped me find a book I wanted.

Nice big store, found everything we were looking for and then some lol. The staff member working when we went in was really friendly and went out of her way to help. She even cut the tag off my son's plushie for him when he asked if they had scissors he could borrow. The manager on duty was also nice and went above and beyond to help with an issue with my coupon. The only thing is I just wish the online prices and sales matched with the in store prices because a couple items my kids wanted were missing price tags and when I looked up the price online for my store it didn't match the price we had to pay for the item due to online sales. They have a great selection of books, collectibles, plushies, and so much more.
