White Point Take-Out

We were staying in a rental and wanted some local caught seafood for dinner. White Point was still open and we headed that way. 4 adults and 3 kids all arrived within 30 minutes of closing time.

The boat that caught all our food was just pulling away, so this was as fresh as fresh could be. The adults all ended up with fresh caught and calabash-style fried seafood while the kids got normal kid food. It was about $100 to feed us all.

The flavors were awesome. The staff stayed beyond their closing time to get us all served. There was outdoor seating, which was awesome on a nice 80° day, but probably rough on a hotter day. Definitely recommend if you're a short drive away!

If you're Down East, this is a must stop for seafood takeout! The best ever crab cakes and soft shell crab. Cole slaw, hush puppies, fries .... banana cream pie .... everything was made with love.

I'm pretty stingy with my reviews, so it's something for me to post one ... the last one was for a restaurant in Ontario, Canada!

Really nice, secluded, friendly take-out spot. Great picnic area too. Yeah you can bet it's fresh when you're able to see the boat(s) that bring in the catch only about 150 yards away. Amazing shrimp burgers, fresh ground beef burgers, crab is fresh too. Definitely worth checking out!

Food was good, service was wonderful & friendly. I did not get any photos of the restaurant or picnic tables but I did get some of the area.

In search of the best cheeseburger in Carteret County, NC, one person suggested White Point Take-Out. Having time, I drove 55 minutes from Atlantic Beach, NC to Atlantic, NC and the cheeseburger was just excellent. Nice size and seasoned beef, cooked perfectly. Added cheese, mustard, onions, chili, and homemade slaw, all served on a steamed hamburger bun. Worth the trip. Will be hard to find a better burger in Carteret County. Only 12 miles from the Cedar Island to Ocracoke Ferry. I give it a solid "A".

Oh, I ordered a soft shell crab sandwich and it was delicious. "A" as well.

Food was good they were a little busy but it was worth the wait. Nice shaded picnic area. Take out only. Have eaten here before but had been a few years ago

It's that hole in the wall that you would have no idea is there if it hadn't popped up on a search and when you find little places like this you know it must be good. There is a little window for ordering like Spencer's Snack Bar if you've been there. I just got a cheeseburger, fries, and a sweet tea; which they topped off once my food was ready. Exactly like I expected, I should have gotten 2. You won't be disappointed. Wish I had tried their local fresh seafood, but there will be a next time.

These are some great Cheeseburgers. Come here every time we are in the area.

Best hidden gem on the East Coast . Soft shell crab sandwich are the best. And their BLTs are fabulous . Worth the trip to see them . Been going there since the '80s .

This is a hidden gem for sure... we rented a house close by and the caretaker told us about the little restaurant.... we had the best lunch!! The Crab cakes were AMAZING!!!! Their tarter sauce was pretty great as well... kids had the burgers and hotdogs... another crowd pleaser! Apple pies were delicious for desert . Cute little fenced in area with picnic tables under a shade tree and room for the Pup to hang out! What a treat!!

Good customer service and good food! Had the fish plate and hushpuppies. Hushpuppies were exactly how hushpuppies should be!

magical place, spend a few minutes in the little garden next to the Take Out, you will feel restored as this place has not been touched by the vice of the world. Food is fresh and very good, people unhurried and natural.
Excellent place to visit and have a lunch. Motorcyclists ! a must to visit.

Unbelievably good soft crab sandwich and crab cake sandwich. Cannot recommend this gem highly enough. Worth the drive anytime you are in the area. Prices are good. Saw soft crab sandwich at another local spot for $3 more.

The fish is good but the Carolina style hot dog knocked my socks off. Just a touch of Carolina slaw, with the right amount of chili on a grilled dog. Stop by after your ferry ride a experience a bit of authentic North Carolina.

What an absolute treat of a find. Delicious soft crab snack with house made Cole slaw and fried pickles, plus a fat shrimp burger. All fresh cooked to order and very light and fresh. Add two half and halfs, and the tab was $18. So tasty yet inexpensive.

Great Cheeseburger's, made to order, and freshly brewed real sweet tea. Cute little place off the beaten path and we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. We definitely will be going back. 🙌

Stopped by this little place for lunch while exploring the area. Great crab sandwich, my wife loved her shrimp sandwich. The Hush puppies were fantastic as well.
