Gorgeous park!!! Spent a couple of hours viewing with my family and it was great. Sadly, Louisiana is considering cutting funding for state parks and Hodges Garden will close without it. Please consider donating and fighting against the cuts so that we can keep our parks for tourism!!!

I hope that this park will find the funds to reopen. It's such a beautiful and serene Park. I especially enjoyed the herb garden . I stayed in a spacious one-bedroom cabin close to the lake shore. The cabin had a fully equipped kitchen. It was especially nice to have a flock of geese visit me every morning and every evening before their bedtime.

Beautiful view with nice amenities. Renting a cabin for a vacation or night away is a great idea for a family getaway. The "locals" are very friendly also.

Walking around the gardens you can see the past beauty of this, kinda like walking through an abandoned utopia, it's pretty neat. The areas that are kept up look amazing! But with limited staff and it's funding being cut they have had to abandon quite a few projects but that doesn't deter from the beauty of this place. Once upon a time this would have been a gorgeous place and it still is beautiful today

I LOVE this park for many reasons! Since it's located away from any major city, you can see lots of stars on a clear night. It's peaceful and quiet. The park rents out canoes and kayaks so you can enjoy being on the lake that's located in the center of the park. They have cabins, tent camping sites, and a primitive campsite (my favorite!) that's on an old airstrip. The gardens are BEAUTIFUL, especially in Spring when all the flowers are blooming. It's a great place to get away for a day or for multiple days. If you need to go to the store, there is a Dollar General within 10 minutes from the park in Hornbeck. If you haven't been here before, you should check it out and see for yourself! :)

I was at the gardens back in 1981 as a child. At the time it was still run by the Hodges family/foundation. I just brought my husband and daughter July 5-7th, they love!
It is different now. The financial restraints of a state government run program are obvious but it is reassuring to see different features have been adopted by groups, organizations and companies. We saw two different features being worked on while there. Great work being done.
Flag Island is closed do to unsafe conditions. That was very sad. I loved that feature when I was a kid. But until they can find someone willing to finance the repair and cleanup, there isn't any going up there.

It was a great trip, beautiful gardens and the cabins are wonderful! The hard work being done by the limited staff and volunteers is terrific! Everyone we came in contact with were extremely friendly and helpful. Stop by and see the wonderful Kim in the gift shop and she can tell you all about the history of the gardens.

I really wish I could live here. This place is my escape. If I need a day to relax and center myself a road trip out here is always the answer. I wish we could reserve for camp outs but last time we were told that they no longer do it. I can spend all day walking through the beautiful gardens and waterfalls and then spend a few hours out on the water.

I see that it's been closed permanently. This makes me so sad. I went there when I was five years old in 1982, with my mom, sister,my mom's then boyfriend, grandma, uncle, and two of my cousins. I felt the same way when they closed Hamel's Park.It feels like a little piece of you dies. I'm blessed to have the pictures of our trip there soo many years ago.It will be forever in my❤.

This is a very large park with multiple gardens, waterfalls, fountains, a lake, cabins, fishing, canoeing, hiking. It is a state park but under threat of closure by the state Lieutenant Governors office as a budget cut. Should not be closed.

Beautiful gardens, wonderful lake. The walk is easy through the gardens, and the lake is beautiful and easy to get on. Definitely work the 30 min or whole weekend you could spend there.

Scenic views around every corner!

Hodges Gardens is a masterpiece of outdoor design. The layout of the park is as whimsical as it is stately, with secret garden paths and manicured hedges. Exploring the park's many features feels magical and dreamlike, complete with the unbelievable aromas of flowers in bloom.

The waterview cabins, boat launch, amphitheater, garden trellises, and barbecue pavilion make Hodges Gardens an ideal destination, whether you visit for the day, the summer, or a special event.
