Amazing food,
Must try the Drunken Cajun Shrimp appetizer
Spicy Cajun pasta is amazing and my favorite.
Mouth watering ribs
Tonight we had the rainbow trout with a dill cream sauce. It's amazing.

This place is small and quaint but the most amazing food and service I've ever had in a very long time.

Was invited to dine there by a chance meeting from the Chef’s mother. The food is excellent and I love that they use fresh ingredients they purchase from farmers right here in Michigan. I had the Whiting fish, my husband had chicken, and our guests had the steak. We spent two hours there. The average cost for four people is about $120.00 and its worth it!

This place is soo good! The food was amazing! It was cooked perfectly and the alligator is a must try! It was soo good and tender! It melts in your mouth. I wish I would have gotten a pic for you but once I took my first bite I couldn't stop until it was gone lol! I can't wait to go there again!

When you desire a healthy meal, Canal Street Cafe has great options. I had the wild caught Black Sea Bass, which was fantastic. Thick pieces of bass cooked to perfection, with fresh steamed broccoli. The accompanying cucumber salsa would have been great, had it not contained cilantro. (That tidbit of info. should be divulged in the description. For some palates, ie: mine, cilantro can ruin an otherwise fantastic meal.) Fortunately, the bass was sooo good, it made up for it 🙂

Very good, service was friendly and quick. This was the chicken marsala and it was tender, sauce was flavorful. We had kalettes as an appetizer which were delicious, however slightly pricey.

Very nice little restaurant for a quick lunch. Friendly service and great food (the fries are awesome!) at a reasonable price.

From the start to the end, this place is well run. Outstanding and well trained/managed staff. Simple, yet well thought out menu and specials. Every item from the bread to my entree was wonderfully cooked. I had the complimentary bread with olive oil and the perch special. Perch, red skin potatoes, and asparagus were all very tasty.

This place is priced higher than surrounding restaurants, but you pay for what you get.

This place is great. I drove by it a number of times and just thought it was a sandwich shop. Boy was I wrong. This is a hidden gem in the small community of Augusta. Once discovered, I have been here a number of times. The service is always great. Every meal has been cooked to perfection. Their meat is from a local meat market and the rest Michigan made, when possible. I highly recommend this place.

Always a wonderful dining experience. Owner obviously cares about her business; she greets guests at the door and checks in on them while dining. Our waitress always seemed to be right there when we needed her, as if by telepathy. Menu is limited, but everything on it is amazingly good.

We had dinner last night before the show at the Barn Theater at the Canel Cafe and they exceeded my expectations. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. From the time we were greeted at the door and were advised we could be seated at the bar, (Normally I would reject the offer but the woman who made the offer was charming and gave me the vibe this was a good place to dine.) The food was delicious, the service was top notch and the staff was efficient, if you are looking for a exceptional dining experience this is the place to be.

Reservation reccomend.

The food was remarkable! I had the flank steak and the combination of flavors was heaven. The garden basil martini was amazing as well and we loved how fresh everything tasted. We missed out on the peanut butter pie, but will be back again and putting our order in for a slice as soon as we sit down 🤤

Quality food and fun-delicious cocktails.
My sister and her husband took me here for dinner and I had pasta and cocktails. Everything was delicious. I wish I lived here because I would go back!

We travel 2.5 hours to eat at Canal Street Cafe. We meet a couple for dinner that travel 1.5 hours to meet us.

The food is always excellent. Menu variety and nitely specials are great. Service is impeccable. Great ownership personally involved in the day to day business. They speak to every customer and inquire about quality and service.

I strongly recommend eating at the Cafe. They have struggled through the pandemic. They are now faced with a shortage of employees preventing them from opening for lunch.

This is a family run restaurant that deserves your patronage.

Great spot for quality food. It's farm-to-table so everything is local and fresh. We had a big group and everyone was pleased with the experience. Will definitely come back

What can I say about this place? If you've ever watched shows on Food Network or Cooking Channel about a restaurant done right, this is the place. The layout and decor is unique, yet subdued. The floors are not carpeted so the feel is clean. Bar area is uncluttered and well organized. Wait staff is fully trained and knows the menu. Of course, there's the food. There's a standard menu, but constant new daily lunch and dinner specials. Food is fresh, sourced locally and made to order. There's just a special feeling about enjoying a plate of food that was prepared just for you. Most of the menu is nothing overly exotic, spiced or seasoned. This is comfort food done at a very high class and level of quality. I frequent this place regularly and have never walked out with any negative feelings.

This place is a hidden gem. I'm serious. This place is incredible. Wonderful seafood, the drunken shrimp sauce is to kill for. I actually ordered a side of the sauce to take home. The filet, the white fish, the salad was incredible. I seriously can't say enough about this place. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Molly was wonderful as our waitress. Thanks again!!!!
