The best pastries in San Antonio, hands down. 10 stars! The prices are very reasonable. I told the cashier that we had never been there and asked what she recommended. She gave a quick intro to all the current options (and let us know what other pastries they make and which ones are likely to sell out) and her personal favorites. She was very friendly, sweet, and helpful. There's an actual coffee bar, which I've never seen in San Antonio, and my husband was incredibly happy being able to try the four caffeinated options (there was one decaf). He loved the hazelnut and the Costa Rican. We couldn't stop raving to each other about the monkey bread - that was our favorite. I devoured the pecan roll. The cinnamon roll and muffin were both delicious. They had a ton of different pecan options - a bakery after my own baking heart. My only complaints would be no bathroom (my hands were sticky after eating the pecan roll) and a very small space to sit and enjoy your pastries, but it's very easy to get a box of pastries to go.

The best pastries in San Antonio! Soooo fresh and delicious. The blueberry kolaches, cinnamon rolls and banana muffins are our favorites but we’ve never had anything that wasn’t absolutely delicious.

I wish I didn’t need to pre-order the sourdough because that is just an extra step that I rarely remember or want to do… but the sourdough is worth it if you’re a more organized person than me!

And the staff is always sweet but sometimes a little too slow moving for my mornings when we are trying to run in and grab something and get on our way. But overall great all around if we aren’t in any hurry. I also wish they had oat milk for the coffee!

I wish I could leave 6 stars. I think I enjoyed the treats so much because they exceeded my expectation. I ordered two sweet kolaches and a cinnamon roll but each were way too much for one person to eat.
They open at 7 and I came in around 930 but the specific item I came in for was sold out so if your mind is set on one item, you should come in as soon as they open.
Also, call about the menu because not everything if offered daily.

We have been in town working across the street from this bakery. I wasn't able to try it until today(Tuesday) as its closed Sunday and Monday.

I went in to take a look around 10 am and I was like a kid in a candy shop.

The bakery is huge and open(I love getting to see how they do everything. the bread had just been pulled out of their giant oven, & brought over to the cooling rack for some flying bread trick( see video)

They have samples of sweet treats and organic breads( they milled their own seeds, who does that anymore? AMAZING ✨ 💖

The staff are wonderful friendly, they answered my many questions.

Glad to be working here one more day to try their croissants tomorrow 💖

Best bakery in San Antonio hands down!! I can’t believe it has taken me so long to visit. Everything I tried was delicious! I’m not usually a scone eater, but their bacon cheddar scone was pure perfection

Met here with some friends for breakfast and cannot figure out how I didn't know about this place before!! It's so quaint and warm people are always coming and going with fresh bread. I got the cinnamon twists and a milk. The picture is half of one twist, they were bigger than I thought! Which worked out as I ate the other one for breakfast the next day. The woman at the cashier was really nice and personable. After breakfast we were taking pictures of front and she came out and offered to take them for us! So sweet! I will definitely be back!

I mean! The sour cream coffee muffins and the pecan rolls are both freaking fantastic. I keep meaning to come and get some actual bread, but then I just get sweets and eat them in the car before I even get home. That's how I know its good! Everyone is always very friendly and nice, and I love how easy it is to get in and out of there.

Great old world vibe great selection make sure you order ahead or you too will watch the last loaf of rosemary olive sourdough vanish before your eyes!

If you have a big sweet tooth like I do, this place is for you. Everything is fresh. The muffins are delicious and the cookies are sharing size. They also make fresh bread. I recommend the Birdman. Make sure to check their bread menu online because some of their flavors differ by day of the week. Those available daily are Birdman, Honey Whole Wheat, and Old Fashioned White. They are closed Sunday and Monday and they have an additional location on Dezavala Rd.

They use real butter over gmo oils in their goodies old style bread zero chemicals hello?

The service is amazing there, the coffee is always freshly brewed. The pastries are amazing. I get the blueberry scone every time I go. Definitely a wonderful place for us to go weekly. And everyone always has a smile on their face!

I love their baked goods. I bought 2 couple brownies and cinnamon rolls, an apple turnover, a key lime bar, and a pecan pie bar. It was all delicious, soft, and fresh. Sometimes, you get day-old stuff from other places. Not here. I've been here many times and have never received anything that was day old or older.

Very nice counter lady, you could tell she loved her job..bread and all sweet bread smelled wonderful and great service.

First time stopping in, late on a Saturday. We got one of the last two loaves left, amazing! Wonderful service as well.

The cupcakes, specifically the chocolate ones, the icing is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I'm going to get so fat if I don't stop eating them. It's so difficult, they're so delicious.

BDB is absolutely one of the best bakeries around. Delicious muffins, scones, cookies, etc, etc! Great customer service, i.e. attention. And way better, less expensive coffee than most anyone: Even their bold roast is smooth witbout bitterness. You gotta try 'em!

This bakery smells heavenly! Love coming here to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a scone. I first found this bakery when I was looking for challah and now I keep coming back. They have a wonderful variety of baked goods and literally everything I've gotten here tastes amazing! The staff are always really nice and the whole shop has a lovely inviting atmosphere. Two thumbs up!

I honestly love this place and wish I had found it sooner. Such wonderful staff. Such amazing baked goods. Parking is off Broadway but only a minor inconvenience. Just park on the side street and not the road. Fresh. Delicious. High quality!!
