Everyone was super helpful. I visited 4 times before I got my gravel bike. It’s my new hobby….and everyone was super interested and went above and beyond to make riding a great experience. They looked at the experience from my point of view…a 60 year old novice/enthusiast. I didn’t feel pressure at all and got a great deal!

I work a job that has been a lot more stressful since Covid hit. Mountain biking is an escape for me, and very important to my mental and physical health. During the supply crunch, this crew was still able to get me a fantastic bike, and they've kept it tuned up and riding well ever since. In fact, after my last service visit it's riding better than it ever has. I can't thank this crew enough for keeping me geared up through some really hard times.

Jay and his staff are top notch. They are knowledgeable, personable and really care about the bikes they are selling. Great work guys, I will continue to buy from this shop. Thank you again!

I have been a customer of Berkshire Bike and Board for a few years now. In the past, I have felt less than valued as a customer. But my recent experiences have been positively amazing! Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, very responsive and efficient. It has always been a good bike shop with knowledgeable staff, but now it is truly a pleasure to do business with them.

Jay was very helpful in purchasing two Cannondale ebikes and an Thule Epos bike rack. He answered our many questions and helped us purchase helmets, etc to enjoy our bikes.

I was 100 miles into a 4day/400mile ride when my ultegra crank failed. Rolling into this shop for the first time, not knowing if they would be able to help, I was hopeful but not expecting much; boy was I wrong. Rob, Bob and Chris all jumped to immediately help me, did not have what I needed at first but combed the bowels of the store and (to all of our amazement) had EXACTLY what i needed - a new crank: same size and all.

Lucky is one word for that, sure. This shop, though, was as interested in getting me back on my bike as I was. LBS in true form. I am not sure how to thank them enough.

Before we even spoke about pricing, etc. they were already installing the crank on my new bike, packaging my old crank to ship back to so I could manage that warranty and then gave me MORE THAN A FAIR PRICE. I was endless: the support, the kindness, the deal, the immediacy.

If you live say, within about 600 miles of this shop, it is worth the trip. Stores (and ride saves - imagine the logistics if they were unable to fix me up!) like these will not be around if we all shop on amazon or try to save a few bucks ordering online all the time. Show them some love, we need them and they were/are there for us.

Again, thank you Bike & Board. You have a loyal customer who will come visit and spend at your shop.

I was looking for an ebike and noticed a sale going on at Berkshire Bike and Board. I emailed the store and was called by Sebastian as soon as the store opened the next day. I went to the store and was helped by a very knowledgeable salesman, Wyeth. We looked at a few different bikes that I had researched and then test drove the one I ultimately bought. They spent plenty of time to get the bike fitted and ready for me to take home. After riding the bike for 20 miles I noticed the front fork wasn’t working correctly. I called the shop and talked to Ivan who told me to bring it in and they would fix it. I received a call the next morning that it was fixed and ready to be picked up. Ivan had to make an adjustment to the front fender, no cost.
Great customer service before, during and after the sale. This is my sixth bike I have bought from Bike and Board and would recommend them to everyone.

Purchased a blue on black belt driven 5.0 Vado on Friday. My third visit there and changed bike choices at the last minute.
Jay Norah Wyeth were all patient knowledgeable and professional.
They are two hours from home but they are worth the trip.

I bought an E bike from this wonderful place bike and Board during the pandemic. It changed my entire life. I now have a whole group of E biker Friends in Monterey and we all enjoy riding to the Southfield store having a little lunch and coming home. Bike and Board has been wonderful to me. Whenever I have a problem with my bike, they are there for me and even helped me to package and send my bike to Florida.

I have purchased bikes from Berkshire Bike and Board over many years, as my enthusiasm for cycling grew. I have always received excellent advice from the store's friendly, knowledgeable staff. The mechanics and sales staff are all excellent. The bike fit process is done very carefully, taking account of each client's cycling experience, flexibility, objectives, and any special health issues. The store runs weekly rides for cyclists at all levels. The atmosphere is always friendly and congenial. Special orders for accessories and clothing are handled with expedience. This is a truly great bike store. Go nowhere else!

My boyfriend and I are new to mountain biking and know next to nothing about the sport or equipment. Zach was super helpful and encouraging while we looked at bikes. You could tell he was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he was selling. It helped get us even more exciting for this new hobby!

Jay Elling was terrific. Let me test ride 5 bikes from two brands. This was after closing on a Saturday. I wouldn’t have bought an e. bike otherwise. And the Specialized Como 4.0 is a great ride. Couldn’t be happier with BB&B.

Being from Brooklyn I have a quite a few shops to go to but few of them offer test rides, so I made my way to the Berkshires.

I called them up to see if they had a Giant Defy composite in my size. They didn't but built one up for me to test out.
I ended up riding 4 different bikes as per their suggestions, and rented one for an extended trial.
When I returned and asked if they had the new 2013 models in they said they didn't but would get back to me.
Within 2 hours they called back and said that they located one and would have it ready for me when I returned.
I'm happily riding around on my new Felt Z5 and will be shopping there for my biking needs.

I can't say enough good things about them.

The excellent staff, at Berkshire Bike And Board knew exactly what I needed to get rid of my saddle soreness. Jay sold me Assos bib with super padding , my pain is gone.

Quality bikes, super knowledgeable and honest staff who can advise all levels of bike enthusiasts. One of the few merchants I've visited recently that I walked out feeling like the money I spent was worth it on every level. Great example of how to run a business and treat your customers right while keeping it real and and leaving out the scripted sell. I am super impressed!

THE MYTH OF THE E-BIKE

“Who me, ride an e-bike? “Why in the world would I want to do that? I have a wonderful carbon fiber Anyroad. Besides, e-bikes are for older folks.” Well, a friend pointed out that vanity and age have nothing to do with owning an e-bike. It really has to do with how far one might ride on any given day, the route one might take and how many years one might like to ride. For me I want to ride 50-60 miles a week well into my next decade.

So, I took that counsel to heart and for my 80th birthday purchased a Specialized Creo SL, and what a terrific decision that was. I cannot say that this changed my life per se, but it certainly has provided a greater sense of being able to take on more challenges, be it in difficulty of terrain or length of journey. I generally ride without engaging the “pedal assist”, but when a Cooper Hill or Collins Hill presents itself, I engage the power. Instead of using the motto adopted when I cycled (no e-bike) around the Isle of Skye six years ago - “ I never met a hill I could not walk” I sail up and over, gratified to have the freedom to do so.
