Do not let outside appearances fool you- it may look like a hole in the wall but it is sooo stinkin good! The lobster roll is reasonably priced (26) and is so delicious. My mom had the fish and chips platter and ordered a medium service and it was an extremely healthy serving as you can tell. We arrived at 1:30pm and customers kept pouring in while we were there despite it being after the lunch rush. This is a place to go when you are treating yourself and not counting calories and it’s complete worth it.

This is just a little no-frills fish shop. If by “service and atmosphere” you mean waiters and ambiance, forget it; this place is closer to McDonald’s in that way. But the cashier who took my order was friendly and helpful, even when I keep adding drinks one at a time; the cooks were maybe six feet from me; the kitchen staff grabbed my drink for me and took the time to speak to me, offering to get me a glass. It felt a neighborhood place that knew me. And the fish was tasty! Actually, I should add the dining room was very clean and nicely appointed with a nautical theme.

Wow, Soo good. Very impressive with the quality of seafood and price! Heard new owners, and the man definitely has it going. I've been dying for good seafood, so I took the trip today from Fall River. I'm so glad I did. The ladies working the counter were very friendly and helpful, as to the men cooking. Ordered my food and grabbed my Dels and bamm my food was ready, popping hot just how I liked it. One of the BEST seafood joints around. I'll be back! Here's to make you drool 🤤 ....

I ordered a half & half plate. Half clam strips, and half fish. And 1 order of a clam cake.

Always my absolute favorite place to go for seafood. I grew up in mass and my family frequently visitors this place for their fish and chips. My dad makes me buy him some every time I come visit and I keep it fresh all the way back to PA just so he can enjoy his favorite fish! I have so many memories here with my grandparents and cousins. What a wonderful place to eat and it’s not too far from the bay so you can take your meal to go for a picnic too! Huge serving sizes and always friendly staff! Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!

So I drove by the place the first time because it really doesn't stand out from the road. I am so glad that I was able to find it because when I did, it was a gem. The staff was very friendly and patient with me ( I was from out of town and didn't understand what some of the local stuff was) I got a clam roll on the first trip and I couldn't even come close to eating the whole things. The clams were large and so fresh and the prices were great. It was so great I went back a second time 2 days later! (Was only in town for a week). I picked up a lobster roll to go, and the serving size was so generous...what a great little place for locals and visitors alike! Prices a reasonable and food is outstanding.

Excellent counter person and my hats off to the chef! The oysters were to die for and the lobster roll was amazing! Sat at a table with a nice breeze and ate delicious food to celebrate an important date. Thanks genes!!!

Hands down the best scallops I've ever had! I wish they weren't so far away from Philadelphia.

I Love This Restaurant I have been eating at Gene's for years & my family loves this place too the Food is excellent & the Staff are Great too My Favorite Menu items I would recommend are the Fish & Chips, the Clam Chowder , the Tuna Roll, Fried Scallop Roll, Fish Sandwich, Fried Clam Strip Roll, the fried Clam Strips Plate & the Gene's Famous Seafood Platter with Clam Strips if you are looking for a Great Seafood Restaurant I would highly recommend giving Gene;s Seafood a try

Delicious fried seafood and very large portions. Sodas are very expensive, so skip it and get water. Indoor seating is available.

Our first time here for a date night and will absolutely be returning! The food was delicious!!! Absolutely delicious! And the plates are huge. I highly recommend them!
We had clam cakes, clam chowder, fried shrimp, fried clams, fried fish, and fried scallops. Delicious, all of it is as absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to bring my kids here!

Food is always cooked perfectly with large portion sizes and amazing flavor. I couldn’t be paid to complain about this place. My parents use to bring me here as a kid and now it’s one of my favorite spots to bring my girlfriend. The best local seafood restaurant!

Wow I love fried scallops. Batter is light and a tad crunchy, cooked perfectly. I stopped to count…11 still on my plate. There must have been 20! Delicious!!! Best ever!

Been eating at Gene’s since l was old enough to eat solid food. As a kid vacationing at my Grandparent’s cottage on West Island it was our family go to favorite. The fish and chips couldn’t be better if Jesus himself was manning the fry-o-lator.
And the simple picnic tables and nautical motifs are a joy since they never change. Speaking of, when Jeff took over he wisely left everything the same and he’s been doing a fantastic job keeping a local institution running well. I can’t wait until my annual September vacation to go eat heaps of fried goodness off those industrial paper plates…..see you soon, guys! Love ya!

We were visiting NE and went here for lunch. Excellent seafood and very friendly staff. Recommend to stop here for a delicious meal.

This place reeled us right in the first time, delicious food, huge portions, reasonable prices, fast friendly service and super cute inside. Also love that there is outside seating available. We've been back 3x within the past month. Can't get enough!!

What a great spot. My wife and I simply had clams in a roll. But wait, there were fries and a healthy offering of tartar sauce. Indoor our outdoor seating. And service was quick. We felt pricing was a bit more reasonable than up north in Essex county.
