I think they need to work on the payment department and have some kind of way to look up your policy info and all.

Security Life of Denver is transitioning servicing to another company and has perhaps intentionally lost all payments. Payments are mailed to an address in Minot, ND but are actually processed in Boston, MA. Is that the reason my payments are now missing. How beneficial to lose payments and then arbitrarily cancel policies. Now I have to go through the reinstatement process. Seems suspicious. Health questionnaires are asking for current health status. After 20 years a person's body changes. REASON for cancellation?
Is this a way for them to deny my coverage that I have had for 20 yrs? Phone bank is in the Philippines. I've always thought it was a good company but now the internet says they are being sued in a class action. Should I consult an attorney?

Frustrated... I have unclaimed money that they are holding of my fathers. He's passed away and it's almost impossible to gather the info they are requiring just to get information so I can attempt to file a claim on the policy. They are making this too hard and I have the same situation with another company and haven't had half the hassle and trouble with them like I am Security Life of Denver. DO NOT USE THEM OR THERE AFFILIATES. It will take an act of Congress just to find out what company your policy has been shifted around too and who has it now.

The only people giving them 5 stars are the employees. My mom has been paying over $2500 a year for 20 years. They sent a letter saying she's late and has used her cash value up to pay the premiums and is now asking for $2000 immediately. I asked for an illustration of future payments first and now they want $16,500 a year! She's 86 and can't afford that. These people are crooks! I, along with many other very upset customers will be seeking legal council. I'm retired and I have plenty of time to find ways to hold this company accountable.

Unfortunately reading through all these reviews are correct. My mother passed away and trying to collect on her life insurance has been a nightmare. Customer service is terrible. Hold times are long. Over 30 minutes today alone. Another policy my mother had on my dad they said lapsed and they changed the due date without telling us and no lapse notice. Going to contact an attorney to deal with this mess. Run far away!

My Mom has been paying her account regularly. She paid her Jan-Mar quarterly payment in December. Then she gets a letter saying she is past due $176.26 and they will cancel it in April. They continue sending a bill for $42.64. When I asked why they didn’t send the amount due, I was told that there is no way to change the billing to reflect what is due. Wow! If the electric company sends a bill for $100 I’m paying $100. What Mickey Mouse company continues to send a bill for $42.64 and you are supposed to know to pay $176.26. What a joke!

The do not issue a check to you as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. They create this system that will not allow you to withdraw your funds from their transition account. They will not answer their phones easily. They want you to create a pin, except their system will not allow you to create a pin. then when you reach someone, they refer you to a fax number that is not a fax number (or their company). Their paperwork references a website that displays a different name than their business. A week later and I am still getting the run around. I know it should be a legitimate company, but the vibe feels the same as if I was looking an email from a Nigerian Prince who is claiming that I just inherited 3 million from an unknown relative, and I just need to pay upfront these processing fees.

2 calls, 8 hours of holding. Promised forms not sent. Sent forms not processed. That's just the beginning. Don't trust them! AVOID!

Too bad I can't give ZERO rating. This company is either incompetent or dishonest. Oh no - let's just say both. The other negative reviews are similar to what I have been going through. Beware!!

Can't pay online. I have to write checks and sent through mails. I'm scared of losing my check and information to strangers when the mails get lost
