Hillside Gardens

Hillside is the best place around North Cambridge to get a Christmas tree. The trees are reasonably priced and there is a good selection, with helpful staff to answer questions and put the tree in your car.

Staff were extremely helpful. Was in and out quickly with their assistance. This may be my new hardware store.

They got everything. Even stuffed birds

It's great to have a hardware and garden store in my neighborhood that has nearly everything that I want. The service is knowledgeable and friendly.

I have always had great experience in this store. Instead of wandering for an hour in a big box store where some employees don't want to make eye contact or give an assist, they are happy to help and then put the item right in your hand. The employee yesterday morning, was outstanding!

Store extremely well-organized. Staff very knowledgable, very helpful. If you are confused, or can't find what you need - ASK - they'll take care of you. A shockingly nice selection of lump charcoal, for those of us who are grilling freaks.

My name is Marie and I want to share my experience which was excellent. I purchased a beautiful weber grill for my son’s Christmas present and we decided after we purchased it that we should have gotten a larger one. I called Josh and explained the situation and he was very helpful, since the grills were out of season they didn’t have one in stock, so he ended up refunding our money. He did everything possible to make us happy and even picked up the grill at our house. I will definitely continue shopping at Ace hardware, thanks for the pleasurable experience.

I love this local hardware store that sells just about everything! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The garden center has recently expanded and there is also a new plant atrium. They have the healthiest and freshest Christmas trees during the holiday season. This ACE store is conveniently located with plenty of parking and always a better experience than the big box stores.

I have been going to Hillside Gardens for over 25 years and they have always provided excellent customer service. Yesterday they out did themselves. I had a complex plumbing fittings problem to solve and Josh spent time helping solve it.He is knowable, patient and walked me through the task. You might save a couple of $ going to the big box, but I doubt you will get the knowledge and guidance.

Super impressed. Walked in with my dad the other day, the owner greeted him *by name* asked him what he was looking for... And then showed him where those items were. Great service.

Excellence deserves to be rewarded! Hillside Garden met and exceeded expectations. I bought a new Weber gas grill and experienced a helpful, kind support from the manager and staff. When I had questions and a difficulty with the propane tank, they delivered fast and personal attention. This is a family-owned business now run by different members of the family. They are friendly, responsive and dedicated to good service. Five stars and congratulations on doing a great job.

Newly rebranded, stunning setup. NEW SMOKER SECTION. A breath of fresh air. Great products including yeti and Benjamin Moore paint. The owner is always present and more then willing to help no matter how small the task. Manager Tom is incredibly knowledgeable and invested in his customers. You don’t get this kind of customer service and mom and pop experience at Home Depot.

I have always used snap on tools in the past. My socket wrench was being serviced and I needed a quick fix. I went into this Ace Hardware and was blown away by the service. Troy (I believe he was the owner) took several minutes to explain the quality difference between craftsman tools. I purchased several tools per his recommendation and couldn’t be happier. Thanks Troy!! I will continue to come here and the future and highly recommend.

The Karen in front of me in line when I was there last week was unreasonable to the point of insanity. Tom handled the interaction like a hero and even though I didn't buy anything, I have to give him five stars for:
- a beautiful, clean store with great selection
- reasonable prices
- an easy-to-navigate parking lot, and
- a VERY patient, helpful, gracious owner who keeps his cool even when faced with entitled noisy customers who are clearly trying to goad him into matching their level of wildin

Great selection of grills and knowledgeable staff. I was in the market for a new Weber, but left with a Traeger instead; just found it to be a better grill for my needs. I was also happy that I didn’t have to rush my choice since my wife (who accompanied me) was glued to the yeti isle.

I was running behind schedule on a Sunday morning before my fishing trip, I made a stop there and bought a Yetti cooler. The customer service was exceptional and I was guided to the right product to meet my needs. Highly recommend checking the store out. You will not be disappointed.

This is a really nice store. Smaller, but that makes it easy to find everything you need. The employees are really nice and helpful.

Both under the previous owner (recently passed) and even more under the new ownership their service is great. Everyone is helpful, they take the time to find just what you are looking for. They have a good selection and they are knowledgable and suggest what you need. They expanded the space and have even more items now.

Excellent customer service. Troy took care of my request very fast and effectively. My Weber grill was assembled and delivered in short time. Definitely I will return to the store! Totally recommended.
