A cozy cafe on a beautiful neighborhood street with plenty of seating inside and outside. The coffee was delicious, and rightfully so considering they roast their own beans in the back.

The indoor seating was varied, playful, and plenty. The outdoor seating was more of the same, shaded, with a scattering of people enjoying the sunshine or getting some work done on the cafe wifi.

Would recommend coming back for pastries and perhaps grabbing a bag of espresso beans to go.

Lots of seating and a great atmosphere.
I got a plain latte, and the flavor was great! Not too bitter, and the milk was steamed to perfection.

While the line may be long, it's only because everyone wants some great coffee and it's worth the wait.

Opo is now one of my favorite coffee shops! They have exceptional coffee and the baristas are well trained as well as friendly. I love that they do a flash brewed nitro, since cold brew doesn’t stand out as much.

My wife and I spent a few multi day sessions in the Opo training lab taking Specialty Coffee Association courses. Our trainer Jonathan has many years of experience in the coffee industry and put together some great courses. They were well balanced between lecture and practical, and we got to be very hands-on with all the equipment. Whether you’re looking into home brewing courses or SCA courses all the way up to the professional level, Opo Coffee is a stellar place to get trained.

Great study/homework spot! Unique and cute atmosphere. Expect to park on street or side street near by. Great coffee!

This place is a gem!
Cute, colorful, and cozy.
I always order iced lattes with oatmilk, sometimes changing up the syrup flavors. They have house-made syrups, my favorites being vanilla and lavender sage.

The baristas are kind and helpful, and will help you figure out what to order if you’re not sure of what you want. Service has always been fast.
There’s plenty of seating, including swivel chairs, benches, bar counters and stools, etc. Near the counter where you order has straws, napkins, simple syrup, etc. Opo stays very clean, whether it is packed to the brim with customers, or quiet. Same with the bathrooms. They are fully stocked and even have feminine products!

Past the bathrooms is a beautiful patio decorated with live plants and plenty of seating as well.
They also have a “roasting room” where they teach classes about coffee roasting.

On every occasion I have visited, it has been very quiet, with customers usually reading and working remotely on their computers. They have two outdoor tables in the front, 4 chairs each.

If you can overcome the parking pressure, Opo is a precious place to camp and be productive. The plants looked so real I thought they were fake! Service is top notch, and the products are quality. What a gem of a cafe!

A gem! This is a great place to study either inside or outside on their patio. They have a lot of coffee and drink options. I stop by the market next door for food if you need a bigger meal. There is plenty of street parking or paid parking around the corner. The service is exceptional!! The employees are super friendly and always say hello.

I'm a huge fan of opo coffee! The attention to detail in the space is super appealing. It feels like a really great place to hang with a group, or get some work done. There's plenty of space.

Parking can be a bit challenging, but it's not too difficult to find street parking.

I tried their pour over and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was really well done! They clearly pay close attention to how excellent the coffee comes out. The pour over was floral, light, and not too acidic.

All in all a great spot :)

Opo is a must-visit new local coffee shop in Decatur, GA. They roasts their own coffee resulting in unbeatable freshness and flavor. The atmosphere is cozy, filled with loves of plants and open space. Their baristas are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Overall, I would highly recommend Opo to anyone looking for an exceptional coffee experience. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just someone who appreciates a good cup of joe, you won't be disappointed.

Parking is a little tricky, you can park on the side, road nearby, and quickly walk over.

Opo Coffee is a gem and a fun place to go in the Old Depot District of Decatur. The large windows give the coffee shop a light and airy atmosphere. The coffee itself is PHENOMENAL, not a lot of pastries selection at the time I visited this place. There is seating inside facing the roasting area, outside in the store front and on the outdoor patio.

This is still a relatively new coffeeshop, but I believe it’s a best in class establishment in the metro Atlanta area after my visit.

As always, I judge a coffeeshop on their Cortado and this place delivered! Great taste and flavor!

The vibe inside is super chill and the employees are friendly.

I live in north Georgia, but every time I’m down in Decatur I will be visiting!

Decatur's local coffee shop with a colorful, geometric design and spacious loft ceilings.
Things you should know:
I. PARKING
Limited. There's about 4-5 spaces on the direct left of the building. The street in front (E Howard Ave) has 2 hour, parallel street parking. If there's nothing available there, then the very END of Barry St, closest to E Howard Ave may have some parallel spots; however, make sure you're not parked in front of someone's home ~ you will get towed (hence why I said the end of Barry St. Not the middle. Not the side near Commerce Dr.)
II. SERVICE
Timely. They do provide latte art here.
III. QUALITY
The Americanos are delicious ~ dense and acidic ~ not watered down.
IV. CAPACITY
Ngl, the coffee shop is packed on weekends around noon but tapers off as the evening approaches. We were lucky and still able to find a seat.

This has quickly become a favorite coffee spot for my wife and I. We’ll drive 30 minutes just to hang out here for an afternoon, and love that they stay open later than a lot of other coffee places.

Great vibe inside (although often crowded), and awesome patio out back. It’s a great place to meet a friend or colleague, and the coffee and tea are *chef’s kiss*.

My one complaint is that their food options are really limited, and they don’t allow outside food or drink. I understand why, but it would be great if they worked something out with Kelly’s Market next door to provide sandwiches or something similar. If you’re not feeling hungry, though, this is a top tier coffee shop for hanging out or getting some work done.

Briefly checked this place out—some of the silkiest steamed milk on a latte I’ve ever had. Spot on. The owner, Jonathan greeted us and struck up a conversation. This place is one of the only ones in Atlanta that has latte art and espresso training classes as well as barista classes open to the public. (Which I plan to attend as soon as there is an opening as they are in high demand at the moment).

Found my new go-to coffee shop for when I’m in Decatur. Highly recommend.

This is such an awesome location for great coffee, hot chocolate, cookies, and to just chill! It’s my go to coffee destination whenever I get the opportunity! Also, you can see coffee being ground, and sign up for classes, if you want to learn more about the coffee industry! The people are exceptionally friendly, and the coffee is the best I’ve ever had! (Hint: buy some fresh coffee, and take it with you!)

I came here on a Thursday and stayed for over 5 hours to work. Great atmosphere, no one rushed or bothered me. Coffee was good and there is water for if you get thirsty. Bathrooms were clean and I parked on the street right in front of the Cafe. You can also bring in food to eat. Super convenient and great place to work or chill.

Very cute cafe with friendly staff and a lot of seats. They were super busy when I went on a weekday morning, probably since they just opened recently, but I got to sit outside in their patio at the back of the cafe. They have a lot of tables outdoors and with umbrellas.
As for the coffee, I really enjoyed my latte! Can't wait to try more as their menu expands.
Parking was a bit hard to find. There's street parking but you might have to walk depending on where you find parking.

I came in at 6:30 in the morning and the staff were excited and happy to be there. I ordered a pour over coffee and I got way more coffee than I was expecting for the price and really enjoyed the atmosphere while sitting with the plants.

I was looking for a coffee shop that was open on the later side and found this great new coffee shop. I guess the pandemic affected all coffee shops because none of them seem to be open past 8, but I digress. The place is great. Open, airy, modern, and welcoming. There’s great outdoor space in the back with tables, planters and string lights, and street parking out front. It’s great to have a no-pretense coffee shop in downtown Decatur since Java Monkey closed.

As a new Atlanta resident, one of the biggest challenges has been finding decent coffee with a good atmosphere. Opo was suggested by a friend and didn’t disappoint. The first thought I had when I walked in was how neat and clean everything is. It’s clear they spend a lot of time ensuring cleanliness and care. The workspace behind the counter was spotless and the workflow was smooth and deliberate without sacrificing the feeling of good service. The outdoor patio is open and perfect for solo work or socializing. Thanks Opo, I’m impressed and plan to be back again with more people!
