I have had 2 different post people. Very friendly I had even make the female one a few Christmas. Not long ago someone stole my package left by my door and they were very helpful. Now maybe 10 years ago I hated going in to the office because there was a rude man but I no longer need to go in.,I remember growing up watching for our mail man and he was always so nice

My goslings would all be dead if not for the kindness of the people at the Olean post office. I ordered goslings through the mail and the company's computer system had a glitch and (even though the confirmation e-mail had my current address) they sent them to my old address on Long Island that I had previously ordered them at. That post office forwarded them to my correct address, but the goslings were hatched and shipped Monday and the box didn't make it here until Friday afternoon. Everyone, including the company I purchased the gosling from, said there was no chance for survivors when they did not show up in the Friday morning delivery.

When they arrived in Olean one had passed and the other two were near death, not making any noise or really moving. The box was wet. Knowing the situation and that the goslings had shipped on Monday, the compassionate people at the Olean post office put a dry, clean towel in the box to provide some warmth and to cover up the one that had died. They also made sure the surviving two received food and water. When I received the box, I was delighted to hear peeping coming from within. The first 24 hours were a little shaky, but they are both doing very well now. Thank you for saving my goslings!

I go there weekly, never had any issues that could not be worked out.✅

Depending on the time, this place can get busy. Otherwise, the lines are short and most of the staff are very helpful.

I had to mail in money orders at this post office two months ago.

Quick, friendly, cheaper than ups or FedEx.

Lovely building and staff are helpful and friendly. Historic building is nice to look at but with new roadways ( roundabouts or circles ? 2016 ) its a bit tough to park on road, or cross road. But its a standard, well run US Postal Service location wirh everything you would expect to find.

We stopped in to pick up our mail. The service was quick.

Usually good service, but if we're not receiving mail, they won't even bother checking to see if we have any outgoing mail. We even have a nice, bright red sign that says "outgoing mail" that stands out against our black mailbox and white house, but clearly going through the effort of LOOKING at the house is too much to ask for.

Good service, suggestions for mailing cheaply. Only a few parking spots with Olean's new roundabout it's worse

Needs more parking and employees when busy. That is 98% of the time.

Most of the workers are professional and helpful. There is one older male working there that is always rude and short with anyone that goes in there. Cuts people off when they're talking and doesn't explain anything. Will go to another place if he's working.

Slow staff. Some are friendly, many are not.

When “attempting” to deliver packages. All they do is ring the doorbell and walk off. Don’t give you time to even stand up and open the door. It was scheduled for in person pick up, yet they are delivering it. Called and told them about the package, they said was a notice left? I told them no. They said well he already attempted today we won’t do it again. Call back at 430 see if he’s back. Yet they close at 5. Then inside the older gentlemen gives me attitude and a hard time every single time.

Was on the phone with a male worker. Monday, February 5. morning shift. Around 11 o clock.

Told them one of our envelopes was mailed out with no stamp and asked them if we could go look for it, or preferably if someone who actually of authority to go look for it.

Just called them and they said "I cant just go through mail as though I was some kind of criminal"

Who said anything about being a criminal?????? I love how he just insults you by assuming you're going to commit a crime instead of just saying "no one can sift through the mail for legal reasons".

I was in town for Christmas and had my new debit card mailed to my mom's house...you know, that plastic thing in your wallet that's an absolute necessity? Anyways, my mom has that delivery confirmation thing, and she sees the envelope with my name in it in her email. That day, it didn't get delivered, so I had to drop what I was doing and go TO the post office the next day to pick it up. I drove down and walked in, and everyone working there glared at me like I wasn't welcome, and they were rude when I told them I was there to pick up my mail. Since they clearly don't like doing their job, they should all go find new ones.

Had a letter held at the post office that I wasn’t able to receive (It was sent to my parents and required a signature and I was unaware it was coming). When I stopped to pick it up “Mike” asked “yeah what do you need”, I told him there was a slip left at my parents residence for a letter that said it was available for pickup at olean post office, he scoffed at me and said “well you have to bring that stuff with you”. Mind you this had never been an issue before, then he looked at my ID *laughed* for whatever reason and then proceeded to walk 5 feet over pick up the letter and bring it back. So I presume getting off the stool was too difficult for him. Man is disrespectful everytime I have to stop in there. From the looks of other reviews this is a consistent issue.

Tall, bald, 50 year-old man behind service counter is aggressively hostile.

If I read it right, woman working next to him is scared of him. Once he starting arguing, she tried to avoid eye-contact with everyone, but still had to do her job.
