Is there a better ski shop on the planet? JP was so friendly, expert in his binding repair and recommendations, and it was even hard to get him to take what anyone else would’ve charged for his amazing expertise in repair of a very fussy binding issue. Plus, the schwag (and the beer!)—top notch all around. 10 stars

I rarely bother to write reviews but this place is just so amazing I have to!
Hands down the best experience I’ve had buying ski gear. JP was amazing, so helpful and knowledgeable, I felt no pressure to rush into a decision. I barely had to ask any questions as he gave me all the information, pros and cons of all the gear so I could make the right decision for me! If you need new gear go to these guys, they will definitely be my go to from now on!!

They solved a boot issue I have been riding with for two seasons in 15 minutes. I would recommend anyone that gets new ski/snowboard boots to stop by! (Preferably before buying so they can advise you on correct sizing)

From just getting started to advanced adventure needs, come to Cripple Creek Avon for supplies, the most advanced up to date gear, rentals, and absolutely lots of laughs and smiles. Bring your backcountry, side-country or resort skiing/some snowboarding dreams to life. JP and Hayes are famous in the area for their dedication to adventure and honest hard work. They share their knowledge openly to get you to where you want to be.

This is a great shop. Such a helpful staff, and really good about listening first and then giving educated recommendations. Very knowledgeable on all equipment. They also were really fast on shop work and I’ve only had great experiences on the quality of work too. JP in particular has gone above and beyond when it comes to customer service.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! I went to CCB to correct a problem with my AT boots. JP was AMAZING!! He could not have been more knowledgeable, helpful and understanding. JP spent time explaining things and teaching me about the equipment. Everyone should go to CCB! Ask for JP- he is fabulous.

Cripple Creek is the real deal. After visiting a nearby corporate-y spot that proved unhelpful, my partner and I visited Cripple Creek seeking help with boot fit problems and an issue with setting up an alpine binding for a touring boot. JP was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and caring - he solved the binding issue quickly despite techs from other shops being unable to find a solve, and he really listened regarding the boot fitting problems. We came in several times later in the week to dial in the boot fit, and stayed late for beers and an avalanche presentation from the local forecaster. If I lived here, I'd stop by weekly just to hang - these folks are that great.

Great shop that helped me figure out what I need to get into touring. Bought boots and Hayes and JP took time to carefully work through fitting, heat molding, and adjustments.

Everyone here is amazing, but I wanted to give a shout out to JP specifically. He gave me a full step by step walkthrough of how to use my new bindings and skins. Very welcoming place.

Very knowledgeable and patient. I needed advice on a new touring setup because there are a lot of options out there. They asked the right questions and fitted me with the perfect set up for the type of touring I enjoy. Love my new gear!

Both of us needed boot adjustments to get things right - and we were so pleased with a) the quick turnaround and b) the effective result. It took a few tries on my cranky feet but JP and Mike collaborated on the just-right boot punch to make my uphills and downhills awesome. We also needed an exchange to get the right fit and function of a backpack - brilliant customer service.

This is by far and away the best ski shop experience I have ever had. The staff is both extremely knowledgeable and super easy to talk to. They set me up with some great gear and even more knowledge. Huge fan. Won’t go anywhere else.

Do you remember the old-school backcountry store, which always seemed to be run by locals who lived and breathed what they did? Remember that feeling of respect and welcome that the place imbued? Very few places feel that way these days, but Cripple Creek is one major exception. JP and the team know their stuff and offer their services with kindness, respect and a deep love for their craft. Looking for well-researched AT or tele gear? I highly recommend.

A+ customer service and knowledge. I did online order shipped from Avon location. TYLER was super responsive and helpful. He suggested a similar item for an out of stock item I wanted and helped with sizing.

Super knowledgeable staff, very helpful and friendly. Paul helped me put together a split board setup and made things very quick and easy. If you’re looking for backcountry gear in the Vail Valley definitely check them out!

Great and knowledgeable employees, only spot ill shop!

I needed an attachment from my climbing skins that no other shops in Denver or Summit / Eagle had. Every other shop told me they would need to be shipped from the manufacturer in Europe. I called cripple creek and they informed me they had adequate inventory, were able to get me the part within 3 minutes of arriving to the store in a Covid-safe manner. Haven’t purchased skis or boots from cripple creek yet, but they will be top of mind for my next pair.
