I have been there in July 2016 together with a local trekking group. The Reserve is located approximately 1,5 hours by car from Tashkent. The access to part of this area is restricted and you need permission. I recommend to take a local guide with you.
It is a really wonderful place that is rather remote. Within the park you do not have any infrastructure but instead pure nature. The landscape is a mixture out of grassland, slight hills and as further you are going mountain terrain. The Reserve is not crowded at all, you barely will meet somebody. So if you are on the search for a silent place with fresh air and incredible nature....than it is a must see.
But be careful in summer. During lunchtime you will have more than 40 degrees…so look for a place to stay during the hot hours of the day.
