Hotel &Traditional Food Ansel

Really good food and the view exceptional. We eat set menu and aubergine stuffed. Menu is for 1 but verry abundance also the cost is 15€. I will say good dinner for 2 with a caraf of 0.5l wine and water 30€.

The food at ANSEL is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can choose among many traditional options. I love the service at this place! They are so friendly with the guests and always taking care to offer the best quality. I also recommend this restaurant for the amazing view of the Berat's old city!

What a beautiful location near the UNESCO site. The owner is very accommodating and generous with the homemade raki. We had a delicious veal dish that is native to Berat and it was delish! We hope to return soon

Hotel is situated right at the heart of the 3 different parts of Berat. Despite being so central, the rooms are very quiet - you might hear the water running from the toilet of the other rooms. The place is very clean and is well-equipped. The staff was super welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was also really good. Definitely will consider staying here again when in Berat.

Got the set menu. It was excellent, highly recommended. You may need to remind staff as a few items from the menu didn't arrive until we asked if they were coming 🙂.

A room with a view♥ the cuteness of the little windows and the location of this hotel in the center of Mangalem quarter of Berat, makes it truly special and well worth the money! We accidentally found their restaurant when walking in Berat at the evening and were really surprised by the delicious national food, great portions and fair prices! Definitely recommend for a visit, their beef steak and stuffed eggplant is top choice for me.

Really nice cozy hotel in the heart of Berat. We really liked the decoration and the little details. The stuff is very friendly, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast is really good. I loved the fig cake. You will have an excellent view :)! Ps.: on booking it’s written no private bathroom, but in both of our rooms we had a nice new bathroom.

The perfect choice, whether you are with your family or as a couple. The hotel is located in the old part of the city, easily reached on foot or by car. Rooms with nice front view. The infrastructure respects the tradition combined with the modern interior. The cleanliness of the room was commendable. The room offered all the desired amenities. The staff was very friendly and kind, ready to meet any of our requirements. Delicious breakfast. If you are planning to visit the beautifulI city of Berat , I would highly recommend Ansel hotel. Hotel Ansel is in the oldest building in Berat (allegedly), and the rooms are super clean, well appointed, and the bathrooms are modern, with terrific water pressure and fixtures. But the real distinguisher here is the VERY nice staff! And the breakfast is possibly the best I had in Albania, in a room looking across the river at the sort of view you see on postcards. Also? This is a town on a pretty steep hill...if you're walking it, don't foolishly get a place in the castle you'll have to climb to at the end of a long day! Get Ansel at the bottom of the hill, easy parking, and? Amazing access to the wide, flat stone walking promenade that for MY money doesn't get the credit it deserves as a town treasure because it is new. It is just SO pleasant to walk along the river from Anselm and along the promenade. My ONLY caveat!: If you have ANY mobility issues, stay around the corner at Megullieme (SP?)...Anselm is built into the hill and you can't even get to reception without climbing a set of steep stairs, and more to the gorgeous, sound-proofed rooms (with amazing mattresses and pillows, BTW). So be aware of that!

It has all you need to make your stay perfect.
Breakfast is super nice and the treatment couldn't be better. Even though we missed breakfast time the guy came looking for us when we were about to leave to offer us breakfast.

We had dinner 1 month ago,the food was traditional and very good prices,what i liked the most was the service,very friendly staff,made us feel very comfortable,i will for sure go back
I will recomand this place to anybody,that want to eat good for a very good price,try all the traditional food of the area and have a nice raki,which they give you for free like a starter

Wow - this is the best place we stayed in Albania so far. Sleeping in a Museum. Great living room. Kitchen old stlyle and view to to city on the other side of the river. Absolutely fabulous.

Before all, the owner of the hotel Andy, his family and Ms. Ada were all amazing people.
In the hotel, we found everything we need. It offers more than you actually need. Also the view is just spectacular. In this hotel you feel like you are at the heart of Berat and its history. A hotel in a UNESCO Heritage Site couldn’t be better. This was the best choice in all Berat. I can safely say that!

Everything was great! Owner Andy is very caring and helpful and his employee Ada is preparing wonderful breakfasts and meals. She cooked Tavekosi for us it was soooo delicious. Rooms are very clean and designed with every need in mind. the right hotel to stay in the old city. I recommend it with peace of mind.
