I had the pleasure to meet the owner and his dog and had a brief 20 mins “wine tasting” session with him and his friends before the store closed. I had great wine, great company and great conversations, mucho gracias! The store has great collection of Argentinian wines, the owner is very knowledgeable and passionate about wine. I regret not going to this wine shop sooner even though I stayed in the area for 5 days. I went there my last two nights in Buenos Aires and each time I brought two bottles of red. My favorites are the Patagonia Araucana and Petit Caro Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon! I wanted to buy more but there was only one bottle of Caro left. Both wines are very hard to find in NYC, not to mention the cost is 5 times more here in the states!! When the owner told me Opus One is about 4 times more expensive in Argentina I should have known the ridiculous import/export taxes on wine works both ways… needless to say next time I go to Argentina I will call ahead to make sure I have a case of Caro and Araucana waiting for me at the store.

I had a wonderful experience at Bonwines wine shop. Tomas, the owner is very attentive, very knowledgeable and nice, speaks good English (if your Spanish is not good enough) and makes great recommendations. I spent more than an hour discussing wines, sipping great red wine offered by the owner and selecting the best Malbecs to take back to Georgia. Even though the shop is not huge, the selection of wines is excellent and you do not need to spend a fortune to stock up on fine Argentinian wines of various origins, depending on your budget. Highly recommended!

I knew almost nothing about wine before my trip to Buenos Aires. Fortunately, my apartment is right next to Bonwines. The owner is very knowledgeable and attentive, answering all my questions and giving me recommendations that were a hit with my friends here in Bs As. He speaks English just fine, and offered to speak it with me, but I wanted to stick with Spanish. He was happy to do so, was very patient with me, and even helped me with a few corrections.

La atención fue increíble!! Me voy súper contenta con la selección que el dueño me ayudó a escoger. Quería vinos un poco menos tradicionales y más especiales y con mucho gusto me guió. Todos los vinos me los envolvió para viajar. Recomendado!!

¡Excelente vinoteca! Ir a elegir un vino se convierte en una verdadera experiencia con Tomas de guía. Tienen una amplia variedad de vinos, la selección es boutique y acorde a todos los gustos y precios.

Loja excelente. Tomamos duas indicações muito boas na casa dos 40 reais (3000 pesos).
Os vinhos são menos famosos que os que você compra no mercado, mas muito mais saborosos e complexos (pelo mesmo preço ou abaixo).
Por fim, voltamos e o Tomás fez uma seleção de 16 vinhos de diferentes uvas e regiões argentinas para levarmos. Estamos super ansiosos para provar.
