Incredible experience! The owner is very knowledgeable and kind. We learned so much about the history and production of wine. I really enjoyed this experience and would definitely recommend it for anyone visiting Buenos Aires. We tried five wines ranging from Torrontes white wine to Cabernet. I didn’t know anything about wines before, but now I feel like I can better understand main differences and know what makes a wine good quality. During the experience, we were able to ask questions and had all of our questions answered. The host also served us cheese, crackers, and olives to accompany the wine. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, the experience is very accessible. We were a mixed group of Spanish, Portuguese, and English speakers and everyone was able to have a wonderful time. I would 100% recommend visiting and spending some time here during your time in Argentina. The shop is located in a very nice area in San Telmo with a lovely ambiance!

I did the wine tasting here and wow what a AMAZING experience!! Gustavo is so nice and knowledgeable, and the wines are all wonderful! You get to try 5 different wines with cheese and olives. I don’t speak Spanish well so we used the google translate, but I am so so happy with my experience and I’d recommend 100% to anyone!! I had absolutely a great time! Muchas gracias Gustavo!✨

One of the nicest wine shops in Buenos Aires! You can also taste wines here and the owner is super nice and knows a lot about the Argentine wines. The range of wines is very large and is cheaper than other wine shops nearby. Also easy to follow if you don't speak Spanish. He also has a box of the 10 Malbec aromas. Must Visit and don't forget to do the tasting in the shop!!

We had a wine tasting in the lovely wine shop of Gustavo. We tasted five wines, he explained a lot and it was a perfect experience and we learned a lot about Argentina wine. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and Gustavo took a lot of time to explain the different wines. We can highly recommend it!! It was not touristy at all and the price was really reasonable.

My visit to the 1853 Wine Experience in the historic San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires was nothing short of remarkable, thanks to the exceptional guidance of Gustavo. His deep knowledge and genuine hospitality transformed a simple wine tasting into an extraordinary journey through the world of Argentinian wines.

Exploring five distinct wines, each with its unique character, was a delight. However, the highlight was delving into the scents that compose a classic Argentinian Malbec. Gustavo's expertise in explaining the nuances of each aroma and flavor added a rich layer to our understanding and enjoyment.

The ambiance of 1853, coupled with Gustavo's friendly and professional approach, made for a memorable experience. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or a curious traveler, a visit here is a must for an authentic and enjoyable exploration of Argentinian wines.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant wine culture of Buenos Aires.

I did a wine tasting experience here with Gustavo and would highly recommend! He was very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I tried 6 different wines here with some cheese, salami, and olives and it was an amazing experience (also at a much more reasonable price than what you pay for a tasting in Palermo). Definitely stop by here to learn about Argentina wines if you get a chance!

Wonderful wine shop in a great area for antique shopping. Gustavo, the owner, is passionate about the wines and welcomed us into the shop. He helped us with picking out a bottle of Argentinian wine - difficult with so many good ones to chose from! He’s got a lovely tasting room and an excellent selection. We opened it up right there for a few glasses and it was fantastic. So glad we stopped in! :)

My friend and I had been looking all over Buenos Aires for a wine tasting place - we came across 1853 and absolutely loved it. Gustavo, the owner, was extremely hospitable, kind, and very knowledgeable about wines. We tried 3 wines and had a great conversation about them, amongst other things. We would definitely come back and recommend anyone to stop by, ask questions and buy a few bottles. We're so happy we found this place!

We read the terrific reviews of Gustavo’s store and we’re lucky that he was here and available to do a tasting for us on our last day of vacation. His store is in a lovely location in San Telmo and he is a great host. What a treat! We learned so much, tried amazing Argentinian wines and ate wonderful cheese and salami too. Highly recommended!

I had a great experience here. Gustavo gave me a fantastic wine tasting experience. Normally, you need two people for the tasting, but since it wasn’t busy, he said it was fine for me to come in as one person. Gustavo was very knowledgeable on Argentinian wines. He was also able to do a vegetarian grazing board for the wine tasting. I highly recommend any tourist or local come here to taste and learn about Argentina wines!

I was looking for wine shop where I could do tasting. Gustavo offered 5 types of Argentine wines - 1 white (Torrontes), 1 Rose (Pinot Noir) and 3 Red (1 Tempranillo and 2 Malbec) by explaining each wine in detail with reasonable price. Since not so much Argentine wines are exported to my country, Japan, it was fun for me to see full of Argentine wines! I bought one bottle of Malbec, called mAi that I tasted, one of the most prestigious Malbec and Pinot Noir from Patagonia. I strongly recommend this shop for those who want to explore Argentine wine.

This spot is a hidden gem located in a beautiful street in the San Telmo neighborhood. The owner, Gustavo, was incredibly welcoming and took the time explaining the four wines we tasted, which were accompanied by a delicious charcuterie plate. We can’t wait to enjoy the full bottles - very reasonably priced - at home. Definitely recommend a visit!
