Our journey to Estancia Santa Susana in Argentina for the Gaucho day excursion was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with delicious empanadas and a choice of wine and soft drinks—a true Argentine welcome.

What made the experience even more special was the evident family-run nature of the operation. The owner personally greeted each guest, and the camaraderie among the workers was heartwarming. You could feel the strong bond they shared, and it reflected in the seamless way they interacted, like a close-knit family.

Now, let's talk about the food. The steaks at Estancia Santa Susana were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The flavors were authentic and rich, embodying the essence of Argentine cuisine. It's safe to say that each bite was a delightful exploration of Argentine flavors.

The variety of shows and activities offered was truly captivating. From traditional performances to hands-on experiences, every moment was engaging and enjoyable. One of the highlights for me was witnessing the remarkable skill of the gauchos as they caught rings while riding at full speed—an impressive display of horsemanship.

Our overall experience at Estancia Santa Susana was beyond our expectations. The full Gaucho immersion, paired with the delectable steaks, entertaining shows, and authentic cultural insights, made it well worth the investment. If you're seeking an authentic Argentine adventure that showcases the heart and soul of the country, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Estancia Santa Susana. It's an experience that will leave a lasting impression.

This makes for an incredible day trip from BA. We loved getting out of the city and seeing the farm. It couldn’t have been easier, we were picked up and dropped off, and well fed. The staff were all incredible friendly. As a vegetarian, the food was ok (decent spaghetti lunch and really tasty empanadas). Mark thought the meat was good, there are lots of different cuts, some were better than others. We had a bottle of red wine at lunch and it was good (much better than what’s served at tango shows). The horses were beautiful and all looked very healthy. It was definitely touristy, but done in a very classy way. I enjoyed seeing the house (museum) with the rooms setup in traditional style, more than I thought I would. The highlight was the horse ride (only 15 minutes and at a slow pace), but it’s beautiful and there are so many amazing birds also! The dancing and show was actually excellent, better than the tango show we saw. Then the gauchos put on a horse show, and it was great. It’s a full day and we were never bored. I think it’s definitely best to go on a sunny day, or at least when it’s not raining.

It just takes over an hour to escape the magnetic charms of Buenos Aires (and it’s traffic jams) to escape to the famous Pampas. Estancia Santa Susana is a good choice for the day at a ranch... with some doubts first if it is worth it we all (7 of us) all enjoyed the tour. Extremely friendly staff working hard to feed and entertain the flocks of tourists but at the end of the day to money you leave there is to support the local community. Very good Asado which is not just a barbecue and along with being the national tradition it is also the source of the national pride. Excellent show with high level performance including awesome boleadoras dance... and yes gauchos are real

Very beautiful horse ranch. Upon arriving they greet you with wine and homemade empanadas. Horses are friendly and horse ride is simply and pleasant. Food is cooked and served fresh from their large fired brick grill. Tango show and chances to dance are excellent.

Very cool ranch. The staff is awesome. Our favorite was an older man who has been there 36 years. When you arrive they greet you with awesome fresh, warm empanadas. There’s horseback riding and a shoe after dinner with dancing, and a gaucho show. Neat variety experience.

Good place to travel with family and children’s, they give you all the experience of the traditional life outside of the city in Argentina. The people and the service is incredibly friendly. The food is amazing and they have their own leather store with unique designs.

We visited here for several hours as a portion of a full day tour of Buenos Aires with a large group. This was our favorite stop! The welcome was warm and friendly. We were greeted with the choice of red or white wine or a carbonated beverage and empanadas. Next, we toured the museum and walked the beautiful grounds. The scenery is lovely, and the flora and fauna are gorgeous. After a lively "Goucho" demonstration, we were able to visit briefly with the horses. Finally, we ate an amazing barbecue dinner of sausages, beef, and chicken accompanied by a variety of salads and vegetables all served "family style". The meal was complete with bottles of wine and carbonated beverages as well as baskets of bread scattered throughout the dining tables. We even had a delicious dulce de leche style ice cream dessert. During our meal we were entertained with live music and tango demonstrations. The gift shop features handbags and shoes made by a local designer and many other high-quality leather and wool goods at very good prices. As we departed the ranch, we were treated to the traditional "mate" tea and a jam filled pastry. The people were warm, friendly, and so attentive. This tour was one of our favorite memories of Buenos Aires. I can't recommend this tour enough. People of all ages would enjoy this site. Some moderate walking is required, but surfaces are relatively even and well marked. Wear sun protection and a hat during Summer months.

A ranch on the pampas. Took a short wagon ride. There is the old homestead that is still furnished with many items from the original family. It was quite interesting and self guided walking tour. Lunch was served in a large open air pavilion. Lots of various types of meat and lots of good wine. There was a tango show and a couple of singers after lunch. Pretty much a full day visit. Really enjoyed it.

Had a wonderful day at Santa Susana in Argentina. The staff were very welcoming and always entertaining. The service was excellent. After horse riding we sat down to a fabulous lunch featuring a variety of barbequed meats and a show of traditional dancing including a very nice slow sensual tango. A great day had be all.

Great experience and excellent show.wonderful dancers, great food, nice little museum. The rain prevented us from seeing the show as it was too dangerous for the horses/riders. The staff was outstanding!

You should definitely consider taking this side trip while on vacation in Buenos Aires. It is a surprisingly refreshing change from the bustling city scene and is also a pretty authentic representation of a bygone era. The food is delicious and presented in a truly authentic way. The entertainment is excellent and not at all kitchy. There was abundance of everything and multiple helpings were immediately granted though not necessary. We met good people both local and international as well as families with kids. What a magnificent experience.

This was well worth it. They did a great job of highlighting all things "classic" for Argentina. Empanada, asado, pastelitos and mate cocido. The show was great; Tango, folklore and the gauchos were amazing. Our nephew loved being able to ride the horses! I fully recommend it. The people were very friendly. Gift shop is a bit over priced.
