Jausenstation Unteraigen

A fever dream of an evening!

I wanted to surprise my friends to a traditional Austrian evening of food, drink and entertainment, and the Unteraigen delivered on all counts.

The traditional evening is on Wednesday and starts around 7pm and lasted until 11 ish. We were staying in Zell and the staff helped us find a taxi to get home.

The food is very reasonably priced - I had the spinach dumplings and they were incredible. We enjoyed the weissbeir and the traditional Austrian music which quickly developed into hilarious audience interaction, table dancing and bum-kicking - it was hysterical.

We didn't understand a word of what was being said but don't let this put you off if you don't speak German - the staff and fellow diners won't let you escape the fun 😉

We had two meals in Jausenstation Unteraigen.
On both occasions we were delighted with the food and service.
The second time, we ordered in advance the pork knuckle dish which comes with sauerkraut and knodel. This was well worth it and I would add great value for money.
On a previous holiday we pre-ordered the Hutessen, which is a very convivial and fun dish to share, with a hot "hat" used to cook the various cuts of meat.

We had a wonderful hüttenabend. The food was delicious and the service and atmosphere fantastic! Thank you for this nice evening!

Absolutely loved that place. Very pleasant and smily waiters dressed in costume , good meal, cold bier in a hot day and spectacular view on Kaprun and Zell am See. On top of it playground for children. Definitely recommend as also the price we paid was pleasant.

"Wunderbar" place to spend time in Kaprun. The owners are very friendly and if you want to know genius loci of this area you have to visit it ;-)

Great food and personal.

Of course you can go for the best-sellers like burgers, but why not trying the Kasnocken and the other local dishes?
On top the winter garden part of the restaurant grants a stunning view of Kaprun, during the day but even more after sunset!

We spent 3 nights here, everything was perfect, super kitchen with nice and huge plates. All the family was super kind and friendly!!!

Just a perfect place to stay in Kaprun. The cottage is located right on the ski slope. The meal is very good and Toni and Sabrina are just perfect hosts.

Lovely mountain bar/ cafe/ restaurant with good food at reasonable prices, efficient and friendly service in both German and English languages.

Außergewöhnliches, tolles und uriges Lokal. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wurde ansehnlich angerichtet und serviert. Die Bedienungen sind gut gelaunt, freundlich, aufmerksam und stets präsent. Der Ausblick auf die Berge ist herrlich schön. Die Musik war gut und ist in angenehmer Lautstärke.
Insgesamt gute Atmosphäre und sauber, ein Ort an dem man sich wohlfühlt.
Ein dickes Daumen Hoch von mir an das Team und weiter so!! 👍

Einfach nur perfekt.
Wir haben in vielen Wanderungen nicht annähernd so eine super Jausenstation gefunden wie diese. Service Top, Essen und Getränke Top und mega lecker!!
Freundlichkeit von Anfang bis Ende.

Landestypisches Essen, was wir in ganz Kaprun und in Zell am See so nirgendwo gefunden haben.
