Klosterstube

Klosterstube is one of our favourite restaurants, an oasis of calm next to a lake accompanied by the best food and wine. The food is really tasty, the staff is friendly and helpful, the garden is very pleasant and picturesque, and the interior is very charming and cozy.

We loved the place since the first time that we set a foot on it, and this is why we decided to celebrate our wedding there. Christopher and his partner Eva were very accommodating and made everything in their hands for us to have the best day possible, and they managed. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was fantastic, and everyone was happy and satisfied.

If you have the opportunity to go, we really recommend their homemade vermouth, the seasonal seafood, the pork cheeks and, of course, the Pasteis de nata.

Kosterstube is definitely a hidden jewel that is a must visit for everyone.

To paint a picture, the guy was alone, taking care of the kitchen and an event. We came in and he was a bit hesitant to let us stay, but I am glad he was ok with us.
We drank amazing wine and he prepared really good food. He was very nice from the start and they even had a play area set up for kids.
It's a cool location at a beautiful lake, with good food, good drinks and a very friendly staff.
If we are in the area again, we will definitely go again!

Great meal with fantastic personalized service! My wife and I stumbled on this small, quaint restaurant within walking distance from our hotel (Das Traunsee). Chris waited on us with true care and concern as we are from the United States with no ability to speak or read German. Chris literally sat down with us, and personally explained each dish in detail, and helped make perfect wine selections to go with our meals. We learned that he and his wife run the restaurant and his wife is the chef. My wife ordered a chicken dish that was in Chris's family from his grandmother. I ordered a Prawns dish that was one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had, and we go out to dinner at least once a week 30+ years! Chris overheard us talking about my wife's birthday the next day, and prepared a special surprise treat after our meal. We could not have been more pleased, and loved the personal attention of a family owned and operated restaurant. Very affordable for this area with 5 star service, 5 star food, and 5 star wine!

Great food and amazing service! We will definitely come back. The new owner and chef, Chris, has brought his own experiences and influences from Portugal. It is a very interesting and fun menu in a historic atmosphere.

The garlic soup was out of this world. Been sitting outside on a warm Summer evening. Lovely atmosphere, brilliant service, very good wine list, the tapas are really original (try the pig cheek! ) We were lucky as there was a live jazz band performing...

Been there for a wedding. Dinner was great, service was awesome: you could feel the waiter's passion for their job especially the sommelier and i don't drink wine often.

Great service and nice location. We had a big steak, which is not my kind of food, so I can not comment on its quality. The side dishes were delicious though.

Best burger I've had in years! The steak was also delicious: perfectly cooked and juicy. Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Herrliche Lage in traumhaftem kleinem Klostergarten. Liebevoll zubereitete nicht alltägliche Speisen zu moderaten Preisen. Der Hausherr steht für alle Fragen bereit und man kann jedes Gericht abändern lassen! Top Service und Qualität

Das Klosterstube überzeugt vom ersten Augenblick an. Freundlicher Kellner-gemütliches Ambiente der Geruch des Sees, der ganz in der Nähe liegt mit wunderbarem Blick,… über den Traunsee und zur Bergwelt. Freundlicher Empfang, tolles Service und eine Kulinarik himmlischer Genüsse! Das Essen war sehr lecker zubereitet Ich komme gerne wieder. Und ich werde allen meinen Freunden von euch erzählen.

Man muss sich einlassen und wird belohnt mit genussvollen Speisen und Getränken. Wir danken dem Wirt und seinem Personal für die tolle Zeit.

Nach einigen Besuchen in der Vergangenheit und nun meinem ersten Besuch als Vegetarier kann ich nur sagen, dass Chris immer wieder mit der portugiesischen Küche und seiner lockeren Art überzeugt. Das Essen ist von höchster Qualität und ein geschmackliches Erlebnis.

Anlässlich der geschichtsträchtigen „Mordsgschichten“ (Faschingsausklang am Fascingsonntag, kehrten wir bei Christopher Oliveira Malveiro ein. Wir bestellten uns eine sehr gute Fl. Pinot Noir von Landauer Gisperg „Handzeichen 2017“. Nach der Vorführung bestellten wir geschmorte Schweinsbackerl mit Gemüse und gebratenen Polenta. Gebr. Blunzenräder m. Rote Rübensalat. Hat alles sehr gemundet. Der Chef hatte keinen Kellner, keine Hilfe und schaffte diesen Abend ganz alleine, ohne das jemand lange warten musste! Sehr tüchtig!!

Hatte zufällig gesehen, dass es hier portugiesische Küche gibt. Sind spontan dahin geradelt und hatten Glück, dass es doch noch einen Tisch für uns gab.
Reservierung unbedingt empfehlenswert!
Die Tapas für Zwei waren ein Gedicht und äußerst reichlich. Danach gab es Frango com pimenta da vovò com arroz de tomate e iogurte (Omas Paprikahuhn mit Tomatenreis und Joghurt).
Dazu tranken wir die passenden portugiesischen Weine.
