Hotel Echo Bad Gastein

Charming hotel in excellent location.
Lovely breakfast with vegan things for us. 5 minute walk to central train station and bus stops, a little longer walk down the hill to the historic city center. Great to hang out on the terrace after a day of hiking. Impressive is the waterfall directly next the the hotel. Great tips for hikes from Henriikka, the owner.

This review has to start with the owner Henrikka who deserves at least 6 stars. She has lots of suggestions for great walks, places to visit and the best food in town. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped to send taxi details when we got caught in a storm whilst hiking. Thanks Henrikka for making us feel so at home. Breakfast was gorgeous; breads, cheeses, salad, butter, jam, cold meats and fruit. The hotel itself is old and full of character and kept sparkling clean, it’s really cosy. We booked two nights but extended to four. Cannot recommend Hotel Echo enough!

Great and cosy B&B runned by hosts Damian and Ray. Got plenty of tips for great hikings and restaurants and much more. Very helpful in all you need. Clean and charming rooms and the lounge, amazing view. Waterfall just in front of the hotel :) Lovely breakfast too :) Thank you!

Cosy little hotel that is driven by a very friendly owner. Wonderful view of the stream from some of the rooms. It is situated at a perfect location close to the bus station (if you want to do trekking at e.g. Sportgastein), the train station and just up the hill from the restaurant scene.

We spent 3 nights at Echo Hotel and had a lovely stay. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. We were located in a corner room that overlooked Bad Gastein on one side, a beautiful forest on the other side and we were lucky to hear the soothing sound of the river.

Breakfast was fresh, delicious and we were spoiled for options. To name a few there were different types of juices, tea and great coffee as well as eggs, fresh bread, cheese, meat and veggies.

The hotel was tastefully decorated and we enjoyed looking at the historic features. We also had a lovely time in the main guest area which offers games and drinks.

We were traveling with our small dog and were delighted that this accommodation is pet friendly. There is also hotel parking which was very convenient because spaces are sparse in the town.

Henrikka went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful and I couldn’t recommend this hotel more.

The hotel is located right next to a waterfall which makes it a unique experience. The owner is really friendly and very helpful with advice regarding things to do in the area. The room was very clean, and it was cleaned on a daily basis. The breakfast was nice as well.

Great little place and a real deal at the price point. Super clean, and Henrikka was outstanding as our hotelier & concierge. Breakfast items were all fresh. We had a corner room with 3 windows, one with a lovely view of forest and the river below, the others with a view towards the mountains in bad hofgastein direction, filling our room with fresh mountain air. Very comfortable beds and nice bedding. Great location -- easy walk from the train station, or for cars, hotel parking across the street. Highly recommended.

Great little hotel in the beautiful town of Bad Gastein. The owner and the staff made our stay wonderful with their hospitality and friendliness. The rooms were super clean and all our needs were addressed with a smile on the face. The breakfast is quite rich. Definitely a great value for money, highly recommended and certainly will be back.

We choose Hotel Echo on our Honeymoon in Austria from India. We chose Bad Gastein as it is little less touristy, we visited during January 2020. We had the most amazing and favourite time at this hotel, and most importantly henriikka is the most kind, generous owner you will ever meet! This hotel has a vintage hunter's vibe and she has managed to restore so well. Dine out is so pretty and cosy. Rooms are clean and we had a view of waterfall and forest. It was all so perfect! While leaving we had an early train to catch, she made us sandwiches and kept it a night prior! This was the sweetest gesture. Thank you Henriikka for a wonderful time and memories for life! I hope you have that piece of paper on which I wrote your name in Marathi/Hindi language! Hoping to visit soon.

Amazing place!
Would highly recommend if you're looking for a cozy and friendly place to stay on your holiday. Henriikka is a great host and will take a good care of you. You will not regret staying here! :)

We spent 1 night there. The place is clean, breakfast is great and the owner is really nice and helpful. We had a great time there before going hiking.

Excellent location on the edge of the waterfall and right near the old center. An idyllic traditional inn. Excellent service.

We stayed here over Christmas and absolutely loved it! It's a quaint place with heaps of character. The staff are amazing, super friendly and helpful and the room was clean and cosy. We really enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend!

Hotel Echo is cozy hotel with good athmosphere. The location is good and the staff is very frendly and helpfull.
