Gasthof Hochalmspitze

This is the best value for money in Känten. I have stayed here 3 times now, 2 days each time and I will stay here again next time I pass by. Its close to lots of attractions and biker friendly! I have stayed in a lot of different accommodations around Eorope, but this guys go the extra mile to satisfy their customers. Its often sold out so its a good thing to book. Extra tip, do the half pension - dinner is very good!

I have just had the pleasure of staying here 4 nights on a motorcycle tour which took in a lot of Austria. Would not hesitate to recommend this to "proper" bikers.
Great location to explore the area from.
Very good food at very reasonable prices, serves a good cold beer.
Rooms are clean and have all you need.
Willem is a great fella and very, very informative and helpful.
You MUST do the 3 countries in one day trip and the Dam is simply amazing.

I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable, the standard of cooking I would say excellent, but the best was how hospitable the hotel owner Harold was, nothing was too much trouble for him to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I cannot recommend too highly

Friendly owner and staff who all made myself, my partner and our dog extremely welcome. Great place to stay in a stunning location with great nearby mountain passes. Great food, the pizzas are the best we've ever eaten. Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks.

We stayed seven nights, mid June, and did a different route every day including Slovenia and Italy, thanks to John putting all the best routes into our sat-nav,

An absolute must for bikers, nice friendly atmosphere if you want to chill out with other bikers at night.

We will be returning next year.

Loved our stay at the Hochalspitze so much we came back for another few nights on our European tour. Everything for the motorcyclist - garage, tools, drying room, maps and advice. Ask about the Special Day Challenge if you're staying a few days, you'll get sent on a special, secret, route! Evenings in the bar are fun and a chance to interact with the locals. Have fun, stay a few nights!

Great hotel, lovely hosts Willem and Yvonne, go out their way to make you welcome, great food, rooms and setting, perfect for bikers, regular visitor, highly recommened

Es gibt keinen Wellnessbereich, das Bad weckt nostalgische Gefühle aaaaber, es funktioniert alles incl. WLAN und in den Betten, neueren Datums, schläft man gut. Das Betreiberpaar ging hier in einer Zeit an den Start, wo andere aufhörten und dafür Respekt. Außerdem sind aufwändige Modernisierungsmaßnahmen im laufenden Betrieb ohnehin schon Problematisch selbst wenn die Handwerker zügig kommen und das Material auch verfügbar ist. Fünf Sterne gibt es dennoch, weil die Erwartungen , welche man an einen Gasthof stellen kann, für mich auch erfüllt wurden.
Man fühlt sich aufgenommen, die Wirtsleute sind stets freundlich und hilfsbereit, ich hatte da ein kleines Problem mit dem Motorrad, und die Dame des Hauses kann sehr gut kochen.Die Zimmer sind sauber und man findet eine Flasche Wasser nebst Gläsern und auch ein paar Betthupfer´l. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist überschaubar und es ist alles da, was es für ein Frühstück braucht. Es gibt gekochte Eier, süßer Brotaufstrich eine Auswahl an Wurst und Käse und frische Butter. Außerdem Obst, Fruchtsäfte, Kaffee bis zum abwinken.und frische Semmeln. Das Bikerfrühstück mit Kaffee und Zigarette, kann dann auch auf der Terrasse an gängigen Biergartenmöbeln fortgesetzt werden..Vor dieser Terrasse befinden sich dann auch schon die Parkplätze. Hier stehen im Sommer dann auch die verschiedensten Motorräder internationaler Herkunft. Die weiteste Anreise während unseres Aufenthaltes, hatte ein Kollege aus Litauen.Die Abende werden nicht langweilig, weil es immer Leute gibt, mit denen man sich gut unterhalten kann und sei es auf englisch. Wie bereits oben erwähnt, handelt es sich hier um einen Gasthof und kein X-Sterne Luxushotel, was sich natürlich auch in den Preisen bemerkbar macht. Die sind nämlich in einem sehr guten Verhältnis zu dem, was man dafür bekommt und günstig, Dies macht die Hochalmspitze auch für den Familienurlaub interessant weil nur noch eine Jugendherberge evtl. günstiger ist. Allerdings hat man dort auch nicht den Service so wie hier. Beim Wirt kann man sich auch über die vielfältigen Freizeitangebote, welche das Maltatal zu bieten hat informieren oder man geht in das örtliche Touristikbüro, welches fußläufig in ein paar Minuten erreichbar ist.
Fazit: Egal ob nur für den Zwischenstop auf der Tour oder den längeren Aufenthalt man ist in diesem Gasthof gut aufgehoben und bedient.

Ottimo ! Molto gentili ed amichevoli i proprietari. Sono andata a pranzo e cena .. e anche con 2 cagnoline non ci sono stati problemi . Molto bella la terrazza sul retro .. panorama stupendo e tanta tranquillità.

Al twee jaar zeer gastvrij ontvangen door eigenaren en hun staf. Zeer prettige sfeer waarin je je direct welkom voelt. Mooie omgeving en terwijl je geniet van je ontbijt zet John na overleg een mooie route op je navigatieapparatuur. Een aanrader speciaal voor motorrijders.

Het was een ongekend fantastisch en gastvrij verblijf! Super lekker eten. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk en doen er alles aan om het zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Het voelt als thuis komen!

Alle Super nett und zuvorkommend. Zimmer und alle anderen Räume sauber und gemütlich. Kann man nur empfehlen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden. Klasse ! Weiter so

Dass das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist, übersieht man gerne,wenn man weiß, mit welcher Liebe und Hingabe der Chef da am werken ist. Man fühlt sich, als wäre man zu Besuch bei einem lieben Freund.
