A lovely hotel situated perfectly for all your skiing needs.
The gondola is over the road, the ski rental shop is underneath and it's surrounded by ski schools and shops.

The bus to Auffach is literally on the doorstep.
Auffach is a 10 min free bus journey away and drops you right outside the gondola that gives access to two mountains worth of pistes.

The room was cleaned daily, and they provided a good breakfast.

After a good day skiing, it was great to come back, relax in the infra-red cabin, and then jump in the indoor pool.

I had a nice room with lovely views from the balcony.

Food wise, I only had b&b, which I'd recommend, so you can try the different restaurants in the area for an evening meal.

All in all, it's a great hotel which I'd be more than happy to stay in again.

This was my first week-long ski holiday and I was quite nervous as I had seen some bad reviews, but from the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had arrived quite late as our transport had been delayed and had a lovely check-in experience and were able to take our luggage to the room before going down and having a lovely meal. The food was delicious (it is customary to pay for your drinks at most in-hotel restaurants in Niederau so we knew about that). The restaurant was clean and had a lovely cosy atmosphere as well as very pleasant waiters and waitresses. Yes, the rooms were a little warm, but after skiing in the cold, we were quite happy for the warmth. When it got too much we were able to open a window to cool down and there wasn't too much noise outside. The room itself was comfortable and the shower room was clean, modern and had enough space to put our toiletries. It was nice being able to go to breakfast and dinner in a shirt and jeans and then don our ski attire when leaving the hotel. There was an easy to access boot room (kept warm so everything was nice and dry when you wanted to go back out) and from there straight through to the ski hire shop. There were lockers available to house our skis and then a very short walk right to the gondola and nursery slopes. Honestly cannot say how nice it was to have such a short walk to the slopes whilst wearing and carrying all our gear. The buses were practically at the front-door too. All in all, was a wonderful holiday made especially so by the fantastic staff (the pool and infrared room helped too). Definitely will be going back to this hotel next time we are in Niederau.

Hotel Austria is a Family owned well run place. The bedrooms are functional , warm and the shower has a good supply of hot water.
We were staying via an Inghams ski holiday package, we got a buffet breakfast and a 4 course evening meal included. All drinks with the evening meal cost extra including water. The beer was reasonably priced (don't quote me on this but per Ml I think beer was cheaper than the bottled water 😉)
The hotel had a nice small swimming pool, ski lockers, a very good ski hire shop, the staff in the hire shop were great, I got my snowboard serviced while I was there and they did a fantastic job.
There was also a winter sport shop (clothing, ski gear and Austrian tourist trinkets) it was a nice shop but I felt the pricing was at a premium.
All in all, Hotel Austria was a good base for our winter holiday week in the Ski Jewel area.

Love this place! Great location for skiing and skiing related goods and services. Ski hire/service is under the hotel and any ski equipment can be purchased from the sports shop.

I am looking forward to going back yet again ! Position of the hotel is perfect,Rooms are warm and clean,meals are varied and tasty,other facilities are good too ! If you are looking for a five star hotel pay the price ! If your looking for a very comfortable family hotel that values its guests look no further !

2nd year here in a row. The hotel is perfectly situated for ski activities and whilst it's basic it's more than comfortable, the staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient, the pool area is great and breakfast and dinner is great in very nice surroundings.

Very friendly family-run hotel in glorious walking country. Very clean rooms with comfortable beds. Local discount card gives free access to cable car to the top of the mountain immediately opposite the Hotel

Great hotel....a number of years ago. Really enjoyed it. Good place for lift for magnificent walks.

Excellent hotel.Service the best and hotel is very close to gondola ski lifts.

Friendly and homely with a great evening meal. Made my husband and I very welcome indeed.

Expensive hotel because it is opposite the lifts but it has a great menu of delicious food for a good price.

Wir haben eine Nacht im Hotel mit Halbpension verbracht.
Das Essen war gut.
Es gab ein Frühstücksbuffet mit großer Auswahl.
Die Zimmer waren sauber und der Ausblick vom Balkon war sehr schön

Super Preis-/Leistung, sehr sauber, Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Frühstücksbuffet sehr vielfältig; Abendessen abwechslungsreich und lecker.
Wildschönau-Card inkludiert, tolle Lage für Bus und Seilbahnen.

Wir waren für eine Woche Anfang März zum Skifahren dort. Es hat sich wirklich gelohnt und war wunderbar. Die Zimmer schon etwas älter, aber völlig in Ordnung und sauber. Super nette Angestellte und leckeres Essen (ganz liebe Grüße an Laura und Lombard 😀).
Skiverleih und Servicewerkstatt direkt im Haus, netter kleiner Pool und Sauna. Die Markbachjochbahn (Gondelbahn) direkt über die Straße, keine 100m entfernt. Auf den dadurch zugänglichen Pisten kann man sehr gut starten und Spaß am Ski/ Snowboard fahren haben.
Durch das Wildschönauer Skigebiet hat man aber auch Zugang zu anderen, auch ziemlich großen Pistengebieten.
Es war eine wunderbare Woche, wir hoffen es findet wieder mal die Möglichkeit für einen Urlaub in diesem Hotel.
