Arena Franz Ferdinand Nassfeld

Just back from a week in the Arena Franz Ferdinand, what a fantastic hotel!
I paid for the slightly larger room which was very comfortable. I loved the storage area at the front of the room. I used it to keep my rucksack, boots and climbing gear away from the main living area. The boot dryer was VERY welcome after a day of torrential rain.
The room is a slightly strange set up. From the corridor, you can see through in to the storage area which is also where the toilet is situated. Bare that in mind when you need to go!
Also the shower cubicle opens straight out in the bedroom/living area. Fine if you're on your own but if you're travelling with another person, make sure you know them well enough :-)
The rooms are very cosy and comfortable, towels were big and fluffy as was the robe.
Great to have a kettle in the room and a very good selection of tea, coffee, decaf and herbal tea which, along with a jug of water, was replenished daily.
It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room too.
I stayed half board. Breakfast was amongst the best I've seen in a hotel. Wide range of coffee (complete with syrups, various cups/mugs, hot and cold milk) cheese & hams, cereal, bead, sausage, omelettes made to order. The juicing machine was an interesting addition too.
I had a very early checkout but I had a breakfast of sandwiches and fruits ready for me at reception.
Evening meals were listed in the morning news (available at breakfast) They offered a good choice and were always tasty and filling. The plates there are huge! It's a buffet, just help yourself to as much as you like. The waiters take your drink order. There's a good choice and prices are fair. You can then either pay on the night by cash or card or charge everything to your room.
Staff are lovely. Attentive, quick and friendly. Some can't speak English too well and I've only a basic level of German, but that was never an issue.
And the climbing wall! Wow!! Loved it!! Wish all hotels had one :-)
Finally, the +Card is so useful. I used it several times for free access to the cable car and chairlifts. You are given it at check in and it gives free access to transport and various attractions.
It makes for a very cheap holiday.
So, in summary, a great hotel in a beautiful location!

Amazing buffet for breakfast and dinner, every single day the food was really great. The service team was honestly the friendliest i have ever met so far. The rooms are not the biggest but you have lots of storage room at the entrance hall, can hang your bikes there, backpacks, suitcase and so on. There is even a shoedryer. Ofcourse it is also prepared for the winter season and you have a place for ski too. Been a great experience and i am looking forward to visit again.

Crystalski holiday makers please check the welcome letter, the Crystal ski hire shop is not attached to the hotel, although yes there is a ski hire shop but you need to walk 10 minutes to Intersport for Crystal.

Also the ski school meeting place/details on the welcome letter are incorrect. Please check with reception or call the ski school.

Crystal have been given this feedback in March 2023.

So the hotel......

We upgraded to a family room, a king size bed and a small wall separating the smaller bed. This room worked for us as a family of 3, not sure if 4 people would have been that great. Bathroom large and shower powerful.

You'll get your own ski locker area, again worked great for us.

Self serving food section for breakfast and dinner excellent, most nights the service for drinks was great. Austrias/locals in our opinion were given priority.

The main ski lift is minutes away.

Would highly recommend the hotel.

Great hotel with great value. Very friendly staff, nice spacious rooms and very comfortable beds and sofas. The food was really delicious and the breakfast buffet was the best I had seen in a long time. The climbing wall is really cool and the children enjoyed the playroom. The rooms were very clean and the soap provided smelled really nice. They also have a lovely little shop that sells really pretty dishes and tasty jam amongst other things. We will definitely come back.

We enjoyed our already 3rd stay in this hotel and hopefully we come back. Our daughters love the kids room and big climbing wall. Breakfast and dinners with many options and always well prepared. Hotel has good location, right next to lift that can take you to the mountains for skiing or summer adventures like aqua trail-nice activity for families with kids.

Is this place having Michelin star? Food is outstanding. Hotel is next to ski resort. Could it be even better?

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Feanz Ferdinand hotel. The location is ideal and the concept of the hotel is perfect for a ski trip.

Excellent food and clean rooms. Hotel is super close to gondola lift. You can play pikado, ping pong, billiard and there is also big "mountain" where you can climb. I am very happy with staff and with hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great!

Thank you Franz Ferdinand team for a wonderful week. In this hotel people make the difference. Everyone is smiling and are doing their best so you can have a perfect vacation. You can feel the positive atmosphere all around the hotel.
Compliments to the chef and the kitchen personel. The food was excellent. Nora in the restoran was so kind and our kids noticed that she is always smiling. She even learned how to say some words in Croatian.
Reception team was great. All was done fast with friendly approach. Check out till 11 is a good thing when you are traveling with kids. It gave us a stress-free packing.
Every day after dinner we had fun indoors. With kids we enjoyed climbing wall, table tennis, family board games that are available at the reception, bean bags in the lobby, billiards and darts. And just for the grown ups, sauna was a great relaxation after active day in the mountains.
The room was big and spacious (XL) and the storage for bikes next door is a great thing. We had 3 big bikes and 1 small-20'' and they fitted the storage room with no problem. You can ride the bike all through the hotel so you are ready to go cycling at the moment you leave your room. The bike routes R3 and R3a are perfect for kids.
Millennium express gondola is next to the hotel and it is free with the +Card. It is a great bouns because we didn't use our car the whole week.
It was a bit hot in the room in the afternoon (building 1, west side) but with opened window and the door of the storage room, the room cooled down quickly so we didn't have trouble sleeping.
Perfect vacation and we will be back 100%!!!!

We loved this hotel. The service is great. The food fantastic and the location beside the lift is a great way to access the mountain climbs. The location is also close enough to other locations we felt like we could have used more than the 9 days we had. Definitely recommend the hotel and area.

Wow. Excellent location. Unusual way of organizing the hotel because you can walk in ski boots and change in close to room space. Very nice food. The sauna area is also a little bit unusual but also ok and nice. Generally worth to stay.

Nice design hotel near Millenium express. Very good food. The room was nice and we had the smallest room. The entrance room wher you can store your stuff works realy good. The room can be a little noisy if you would like to go to sleep early, but i have solved problem with ear plugs. The location is top :)

Very nice hotel with a very convenient location. Just a couple of minutes to the lifts Millenium Express.
Always clean and tidy, the breakfasts are very tasty and the staff is friendly and polite.
