Schupfer's Dorfschmiede

Austrian cuisine with a nice twist; we were impressed. The menu is tiny, just like the size of the kitchen, but I think that all the items on the menu are brilliantly made, presented and served. Me and my grumpy wife ;-) were pleasantly surprised by the deep flavors and twists this cook gave to these dishes. When entering, mind to close the door gently as an authentic counterweight may slam it behind you. The space including headroom is tiny and gloomy like a cave pub, but so much more authentic, romantic, and relatively cool, which is perfect on hot days. Most of the time, one can sit outside under a wooden shed. I would highly recommend to give this restaurant a try, if not for a nice fresh beer at the bar.

It seems we have been lucky and got a table without reservation. Very small and cozy restaurant - and the food - simply delicious!! Great mushroom sauce as amuse bouche, fantastic lemon soup served in glass but surprisingly hot was very innovative. Home made pasta with scampi could easily compete with best pasta in Tuscany. Finally, ordering mixed blatt salat you will not mistaken. Five stars fully deserved! Thank you Chef for premium food experience. Thank you waiter for lovely servis.

One of the best dining experiences we have had. Ordered 4-course tasting menu. A lot of fresh ingredients used, which overall we really liked. Really friendly and polite waiter (who is probably the restaurant owner). Would recommend.

Very nice suprise. Looking at neighbours table, it was my mistake not to order the Überraschungsmenü. But, the special main dish was agreed for children. Extra desert, which was not on the menu was prepared. You should put it on menu:). Rostbraten vom Ennstoirind was amazing. Great experience. We will for sure return and try the Überraschungsmenü :) thank you.

Amazing!! From start to finish everything we touched was great!! The service, impeccable and genuine, the food, delicious with 5 star quality and taste. We’ve eaten at very fine restaurants everywhere we go and the finest in Miami and this place ranks with them easily with the added bonus of small town Austrian charm.
A true hidden gem!!! (try the steak or ask the host for a recommendation).

Our day was almost ruined when we had a series of rude and indifferent experiences in Gossl, a nearby town. One lady opened our car door to yell at us when we parked in a private parking spot for 30seconds while trying to find the correct road. Then we were ignored and treated indifferently at two other local restaurants while trying to find a place to eat.
A shame as we are on our honeymoon and I was trying to show my wife this small town that I had great memories of when I visited in 2007.

Good thing Schupfer’s Dorfschmiede came to the rescue and offered a truly wonderful time. The host, Stevie, was friendly and really tried to help us with the menu with his English and my very basic German. He made the night really memorable and shows that he genuinely enjoys what he does. The chef was also wonderful and we made sure to give him his proper kudos.
We are making it a point to come back the next time we are anywhere near Austria!

We spent amazing time at the restaurant! We made a reservation one day ahead and came with friends for a dinner - and it definitelly worth it! Everything we tasted was delicious, the staff was extremely friendly, the cheff was really interested if are the guests satisifed with the meals- and we definitelly were. If you have any chance to visit this place, go for it!

We have just had to most delicious meal at schupfer’s Dorfschmiede. The food was exquisite, well thought out and cooked to perfection. We ordered a steak to share for our kids and they split it between two plates and still gave each tiny portion the full beautiful attention as for our adult meals. Lots of restaurants know how to drizzle a bit of balsamic vinegar around the plate but the food doesnt live up to the flashy presentation. Schupfer’s Dorfschmiede certainly does live up to the presentation! I can’t wait to get back there.

A rare gastronomic delight in the heart of a very beautiful village! Highly recommended!

Würde gerne mehr als 5 Sterne geben! Absolut geniales Essen, zwei Grüße aus der Küche, die nicht nur aus Brot und Aufstrich bestehen. Haben dann das 4 Gang Überraschungsmenü gewählt und waren am Ende richtig satt und jeder Gang war ein Traum! Das Ambiente ist ebenfalls ein Wahnsinn, richtig urig und stimmig. Der Service war extrem freundlich und aufmerksam, war ein wunderbarer Abend!

PS: Grüße an den Kellner der uns Banausen darauf hingewiesen hat, dass das 4 Gänge Menü nicht nach dem 4. Gerichten zu Ende war, wir wollten vor dem Hauptgang zahlen, da wir nach einem süßen Zwischengang dachten, das war das Dessert… anscheinend müssen wir öfters in gehobenen Restaurants essen gehen 😉

Ein wundervoller Abend zum Geburtstag meiner Frau. Essen und Service auf allerhöchstem Niveau. Das Essen war wie angepriesen köstliches aus Österreich . Mit das beste Rind das ich seit langem genießen durfte . Auch jede andere Speise und auch die Vegetarische Option für unsere Schwägerin war, um es kurz zu machen Lecker ! Das Ambiente ist super gemütlich und das Personal sehr freundlich, man fühlt sich gleich wohl. Das Überraschungmenü ist eine Geschmacksexplosion und wirklich ein Traum. Der Wein schmeckte auch sehr lecker und passte perfekt zum Essen. Danke für den tollen Abend.

Gemütliches Ambiente und vorzügliche Speisen. Der Kellner ist überaus freundlich! Die hausgemachten Nudeln und der Saibling waren wirklich sehr schmackhaft! Tischreservierung empfohlen. Das Überraschungsmenü ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen!
