Not sure why this place has such a bad rating but I absolutely enjoyed getting our clothes cleaned here. It's brightly lit, clean place and a big table for you to fold your clothes. Has some seats for you to sit and wait.

There are ( prices as of December 2023 ):
4 x 8kg washers @ €7.10
2 x 20kg washers @ €14.10
1 x 26kg washer @ €17.70
4 x 15kg dryers @ €4.70 for 30m / €2.40 for 10m
2 x 30kg dryers @ €9.40 for 30m / €3.60 for 10m
3 x washer + dryer ( no mention of max kg but it's small, maybe 8kg, also not sure how much it is as all were being used. )

You choose a machine -> put your clothes in -> go to the pay point and select the machine number -> pay. The pay point has English and Deutsch.

You can use Visa, MasterCard, GooglePay, ApplePay or their own Green & Clean load card. I used my overseas MasterCard with no issue. I believe you can also use cash ( no coins ) but no change is given back.

There's also a small vending machine beside the pay point so you can buy some drinks or chocolates if you want.

As I had a lot of clothes ( family of 4 over several days ), I used the 26kg washer. I also put in one of my pods even though it says detergent included. Took 42 minutes to finish.
Clothes came out clean and fresh smelling.

Then I used the dryers, took 30 minutes. All came out nice and dry. Folded our clothes on the big clean table, packed up and left happily with clean, fresh smelling clothes!

While it isn't exactly cheap, but a true life saver when on holiday and staying in a hotel.

Decided to try this branch of Green and Clean, even though the reviews were a little variable. Not sure why this was the case because we had no issues at all. All the machines were easy to use and we were able to pay with credit card.

Cannot comment about the problems other had with regard to auto dispensing of detergent because we had our own laundry sheets (like pods) for this purpose, which I threw into the machine.

Would happily return to use this place again.
Not too far from the old city via the metro, and close to the Hauptbanhhof.

The place is well kept and clean. There are different types of machine; wash, dry, or wash and dry, with different sizes; 8 kg, 15 kg, 20 kg, 30 kg. You can only pay in credit/debit card or the green and clean card. The machines can add detergents but last time they were all out, luckily I brought my own. I totally recommend this place.

This is a great option to do laundry while you are traveling in Vienna. Yes, the detergent is included, but the stain removal probably isn’t as good as a name brand detergent, so our baby clothes didn’t come out perfect.

The wash+dry machines are an incredible convenience while traveling, so I don’t have to spend my whole day waiting to move the load to the dryer.

The process is perhaps even simpler than the instructions from other reviewers make them seem. Don’t worry, basically everything is in English. Start at the touch screen machine and follow the instructions from there. Pay attention to the different machine types and sizes (just match the numbers and words) and you’ll be fine.

I paid with a Chase contactless (tap) credit card which worked great. It also worked on the vending machine for a soft drink (but also, there’s a grocery store up the street if you’re dying for a snack while you wait).

When you finally choose the program on the machine with the knob, make sure you pay attention to the wash temperature if you’re not used to Celsius. 90 degrees is a very hot wash, and you probably don’t want that! Also, if you bought a wash+dry program, don’t accidentally choose a program that is only a wash cycle.

At the end of the cycle, a voice in German will say some stuff which basically means it’s done. For me, the dryer was still spinning, but the screen said “TASTER FÜR TÜRÖFFNUNG DRUCKEN,” which means “press door opening button.” Technically, there isn’t really a “door opening button” on the wash+dry machine. I pressed OK, and the machine stopped spinning and allowed me to unlock the door with the twist knob.

I thought the performance of the machine was similar to mine at home and I ran a few bulkier items in a standalone dryer for an extra 10 minutes while I folded the rest of my clothes.

Overall, I can’t complain. Considering how much better this setup is than anything I’ve seen in the USA, I don’t even mind that I paid ~$25 for a load of laundry. I’d rather do that than check an extra bag and lug around too many clothes!

Hello there! American traveling abroad for the holidays and needed to get some laundry done mid-trip. Thank you to everyone who reviewed before me, especially recently. You really helped me out! Maybe they’ve changed technology, and updated their English menus, but this place is far more intuitive than reviews a year or older would suggest.
Want to be a pro when you come in? Read the prior reviews and read the instructions when you come in. I’ve taken some pictures, so you can get a little up to speed before heading in.
There are 3 types of machines: 1) washers, 2) dryers, and 3) combined. I did not try the combined machines because I needed 4 machines and they only had 3.
There are 2 types of washers and 2 types of dryers. The smaller washers are about €6,15 per load and the big is €12,25. There are two types of dryers, and they have varying drying times that affect costs, either 10- or 30-minutes. The “small dryer,” which is still pretty large, is €2,10 for 10 minutes and €4,10 for 30. The bigger dryers, which are massive, and €3,10 and €8,10, respectively.
Step 1: load your machine.
Step 2: go to the pay kiosk. If you’re an American - forget the app (as of this writing). You can download it, but you cannot register - it will never send you the registration SMS.
Ways to pay: cash, NFC credit card (visa/MasterCard only - I tried Amex and it did not work), or you can use Apple Pay / google pay. I used both a NFC card (look for a “wifi” symbol on your card), and Apple Pay. Apple Pay was easier.
If you pay with cash (I didn’t, but I read the instructions), you will need to buy a proprietary card. It’s a €20 purchase and minimum reloads are €10.
Step 3: pay and activate the machines at the kiosk. You then have 3 minutes to start. Do not panic - it’s plenty of time.
Washing machines - the default temp is “hot.” Spin the OK button for different settings. Use google translate to help you figure out what they are (there is free, good WiFi). Once you have the cycle set, push the OK button. The machine will start. Push it agin if it doesn’t (this is in the instructions).
They advertise the detergent is included in the wash. I believe them, as there were suds visible during the wash cycle. It didn’t seem to have any certain odor, but I’m not good at picking that up. If you’re sensitive, you will want to read more on the cycles to see if you can omit detergent. I did not look, so don’t know if you can do that.
Dryers: there are 4 heat settings. The default is “high”. 20 minutes in to the 30-minute cycle, the door was hot to the touch. No complaints from me. The dryers also occasionally reverse direction. I thought it stopped the first time, but it’s ok.
Other notes: I got here at 6:00 am sharp on a Friday. It was well-lit and warm (it’s December 27th). About 6:30, another patron came in, and was friendly. The vending machine had some drinks and snacks. The WiFi works.

Very clean location is nice part of town. Washers add their own detergent and all clothes smelled clean after wash. Dryers dried clothes in one cycle. Very easy-to-use system to pay for the machines. All instructions in both German and English. Only thing that took me a second was that you need to turn the dial on the washer after you pay even if you selected the cycle you want before going to pay.

(Following John Hendrikson’s in depth review here are a few useful details):

• the wash cycles are 40 minutes regardless of temperature (and you get the choice of cold/unagigated, 30, 40, 60 and 90°C).
• the wifi is difficult to log on to without a Facebook account.
• Apple Pay (all cards) works and that’s your best bet.
• International numbers do work, but you need 00 instead of +.
• The machines are huge — triple a standard household size.

We went late on a weekday afternoon. It was uncrowded. It is clean with good machines and reasonable prices for washing and drying. Incidentally, the only other customers were five Aussies. Weird. But the place is highly recommended.

great location, walking distance from Wein HBF and we did our laundry here without waiting or issues. our clothes came out clean and we were in and out in about a little over an hour. there are signs written in English which was helpful, and there were seats with wifi which was also very nice, its actually the first time i've seen a laundry place offer free wifi, none of the ones that I use in the USA offer free wifi so that was nice. Inside is nicely lit, and we noticed towards noon there were quite a few people coming in so I would suggest doing your laundry earlier to avoid any queues.

After struggling to find detergent while traveling and having to babysit washer + dryer cycles separately, I LOVE the wash+dry machines here which automatically add detergent. Set and forget. Come back in a an hour and half.

Highly efficient fully automated laundry with flexible options. The detergent is auto loaded. Multi language instructions make it very workable after a bit of familiarisation. No wifi, but it is a laundry, a few places to eat nearby

Nice little laundromat, very clean, easy to use, and near the U-bahn station! There are instructions in many languages, they accept card, and detergent is even included. This is a must for tourists who don’t want to pay the exorbitant laundry service fees at hotels :)

Clean, great machines and air conditioned (was here on July 1, 2022). Definitely the best self service laundromat I've ever used.

The world needs more John Hendricksons, what an impeccable review. Thank you John 😊

Additional tip would be to check at the kiosk which of the machines are available, before putting the clothes in the machine, then going back to the kiosk to pay. This removes any hassle of putting clothes into machines which are not working.

Super easy self serve laundromat. Put your clothes in, tell the vending machine which machine is your, pay (credit card), and hit go. It automatically adds soap!
Ignore the grumpy old lady. She chased us around with a mop, making us feel bad for leaving foot prints. She also yelled at a few other customers for putting wet clothes in the supplied baskets and for leaving a dryer door open. In the end she salty but harmless. All part of the charm :)

Have been traveling for over 2 weeks and have another 3 weeks. Going on with our travel so necessary to have machine washed clothes. If we read the directions first it would have been faster how to pay and use the machines. You can pay with credit card or cash. No problem afterwards. I selected based on reviews even though there were laundromats closer to our hotel.

Well after reading the reviews i got scared a little but still decided to go there on sunday because it was the closest to my hotel.

I was surprised but there wasn't any problem reading my credit card unlike other places in austria.

The info how to operate the machines is available in english.

I can very recommend this place as it clean, the machine add detergent,
Most machine ware in working order,
And my laundry is clean and dry.

A little bit tricky how to proceed at first even with the description. I supposed there will be a person who takes care about money and everything but no, you have to do everything by yourself, though it’s quite convenient

Good machine self wash and dry. Clean. Takes credit cards. If your wash is small enough there are 2 machines that are wash and dry.

Super easy, detergent included, combo wash/dry machines for smaller loads. No issues with credit cards although it's tap only. The machines also accept cash to buy/recharge a Green Clean payment card, or there's an app that you can use to pay also. All machines were clean and in good working order, and there is English instructions everywhere.
