Melnikfall

Beautiful waterfall which you can get very close to and feel its power. This should be your first stop on the Hochalmstrasse route, easy parking with picnic bench and cycle parking, and a short walk to the falls. It's 100% worth paying the toll to drive all the way to the top, taking your time and stop for pictures, and more waterfalls on the way! Great scenery , nice to cool down when it is hot . Beautiful Alpine Roads to get there ,don't forget to drive to the top of the mountain ! Worth the money you have to pay to go up !!

If you are heading to Kölnbreinspreicher you should not miss this wonderful waterfall on your way up. There are numerous hiking trails around the waterfall, and a lot of nice spots to take a photo of the fall itself.

Melnikfall je drugi, markantnejši slap v dolini Maltatal. Najdete ga takoj za prvim ovinkom, ko ste že prevozili plačilno zapornico. Tam parkirate in se v nekaj minutah hoje že znajdete pod markantnim, res mogočnim slapom. Tu sem našel še nekaj v angleščini pa si prevedite:
The Melnikfall is one of the bigger waterfalls in the Maltatal, at the beginning of the Malta hochalm strasse. From highway A10 it is a 16 kilometer drive into the Maltatal before you reach the Melnikfall. The Melnikfall is almost directly accessible from the roadside.

There is no Parking directly next to the waterfall, but we were in the Malatatal in May and we parked the car along the road. From the road it is a 2 minute walk to the bottom of the Melnikfall. A nice place for a picnic. From a distance you see the Melnikfall in all its glory. A big waterfall in the river Melnikbach that cascades down over 300 meters.

It is also possible to walk up along the Melnikfall. A trail leads you up to the top in 60 minutes. If you have the time, you should make the walk in this beautiful area.

The Malta hochalm strasse is closed in wintertime and when we were there in May, the road was still closed, but we managed to drive up to the Melnikfall.

Best time to visit the Melnikfall is the beginning of the summer when melted snow feeds the river Melnikbach and the volume of the Melnikfall increases. The source of the river lies high up in the mountains at two small lakes: the kleiner- and grosser Melniksee.

The Melnikfall tumbles down towards the south and can be visited from early morning until late noon.

The Malatatal is one of the best valleys, in Austria, for visiting waterfalls. Other nice waterfalls in the Maltatal are: Hinterer Maralmfall, Fallbachfall, Gossfalle and the Schleierfall. The Fallachfall is the biggest and most impressive waterfall in the Maltatal with a single drop of 150 meters and a quit impressive volume.

Dit is één van de mooiste watervallen in het Maltadal. Je kunt gemakkelijk tot aan de voet van de waterval lopen, waar het heerlijk verfrissend is op een warme dag :-) Zelfs begin september stroomde er nog volop water naar beneden, net zoals bij de andere watervallen in dit prachtige dal.

Sehr sehenswert 👍😊 absolut ein Erlebnis wert. Wunderbar sehr natürlich und ruhig.

Wat een prachtige waterval! Je kan heel dichtbij de waterval komen, heerlijk verfrissend. Er is een erg leuke wandeling naar de waterval toe waarbij je langs 5 watervallen in totaal komt. De laatste is de Malnikfall waterval. Wij hebben de wandeling gedaan met 2 kinderen van 5 en 7 jaar en ze vonden het fantastisch. Echt een 'avonturenpad'. Je kan de auto net voor de tolpoortjes parkeren aan de linkerkant bij het restaurant. Rechts achter het restaurant begint het pad. Deze volg je door de rood met witte vlag of stip te volgen. Zo kom je vanzelf langs de watervallen. Wij hebben op een bankje gepicknickt bij de Melnikfall waterval, erg mooi. Het is een wandeling van 60 min heen en 60 min terug (tempo van de kinderen). Trek stevige schoenen aan en je moet goed ter been zijn, want er zitten kleine klimmetjes tussen. Maar een absolute aanrader!!

Der Melnikfall ist ein sehr schöner Wasserfall, man kann gleich mit dem Auto nebenan parken, zu Fuß braucht man nur wenige Minuten dorthin

Es ist auch ein erstaunlich hoher, wunderschöner Wasserfall. 🤩

Ez is egy elképesztően magas, gyönyörű vízesés. 🤩

Cascata bellissima, si può tranquillamente raggiungere (fino a bagnarsi) completamente a piedi dal parcheggio sottostante.

Sehr schöner und eindrücklicher Wasserfall im Maltatal.

Am Fuße des Melnikfalls kann man super entschleunigen. Derartige Natureindrücke sind einfach unbezahlbar. Ein äußerst schönes Fleckchen zum verweilen!!!

Es ist dort sehr entspannend und kühl. Der Wasserfall ist sehr idyllisch und gut für Foto's. Der Bach der von dort wegfließt und die Wilde Natur rundherum sind definitiv einen Abstecher wert.
