New design hotel with great amenities and comfy rooms.

We really enjoyed our 5-night stay in The comodo hotel in comfort+ valley room. The hotel has great concept with rich list of amenities (restaurant, bar, gym, yoga room, co-work, cinema, indoor pool, two saunas, lounge, and sundeck).

Our room was spacious, had view to the mountain. Beds were very comfortable, we slept very well. Even though the hotel does not have AC we never needed it, even during our stay when temperatures were high nights were very refreshing. Breakfast was very good.

Hotel owners paid high attention to the hotel’s concept and design. Hotel is really smart. And it was also visible on type of clients in the hotel: more sophisticated types ;).

Recommended place. We are saving this place for our future stays.

The hotel is brand new with amazing facilities. Staff is great and very friendly and welcoming!

The food in the restaurant is very good and the personal does a very good job. Although I understand the project and the idea behind it, the wine card is a bit “too alternative”.

Breakfast is very good. The overall food experience is focused on a more healthy lifestyle which is greatly appreciated.

You have saunas, pool and spa area. Also the hiking trails are immediately outside of the hotel.

I was disappointed that my Marriott Status was not acknowledged and the lack of bottled water in the room was also a bit of a let down.

Overall an amazing experience that will definitely repeat.

Great boutique hotel in Bad Gastein. The staff was wonderfully forthcoming and helpful for any tips what to do on a cloudy day and with destination recommendations.

The sauna / sun terrace is gorgeous with a great view over the valley and the breakfast was exceptional.

This place is truly a heaven on Earth, offering some of the greatest value you'll ever find in a hotel this kind.

Overlooking the Gastein Valley, it provides dozens of scenic hiking routes that begin right from the hotel’s garden.

As a Marriott Titanium Member and a guest who has stayed here more than anyone else (23 consecutive nights in 2023 and breaking my own record with 32 consecutive nights in 2024), I can say many kind words about the staff, the hotel’s facilities, and how everything is harmoniously connected. However, none of my words can fully capture the soul of the cōmodo. It's something you have to experience for yourself.

As someone who stays in hotels more than 90 nights a year, I want to mention a few things that might be important for you:

– Only the suites (4 out of the entire range of rooms) have AC. However, believe me, you don’t need AC in the mountains. Even on the hottest days, when it rarely reaches 30 degrees, it cools down at night, making it perfectly comfortable. They can also provide you with thinner bedding if needed.
– There are no kitchen facilities available in the rooms (such as mini-fridges or coffee/tea tables), but you can request a Nespresso machine at the front desk – just ask the team.
– The food is good, so there's nothing to worry about. The restaurant always has something to offer. And you have more options in town with a walking distance of several minutes.

Extremely nice hotel in the mountain. We stayed here for 4 nights - stunning view from the room and almost everywhere in the hotel, along with good services. All the hotel staffs are very friendly and professional.

The sundeck has the best view. Really love the design of the hotel - from rooms to the lobby area. They have the yoga studio, co-working space, and a nice gym. Most importantly - they even have a big cinema room!! Highly recommend to stay here

Beautiful, recently renovated design hotel in a gorgeous location. Stayed for a week in June, and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The location is great, very close to all the highlights of stunning Bad Gastein. The design of the entire hotel, the rooms and the common areas is beautiful. Everyone working there was super nice, helpful and courteous. The amenities of the hotel are fantastic: well equipped co-working space, cinema/theater room, restaurant for breakfast & dinner, large spa area with swimming pool, yoga room and gym, sun terrace with stunning views. Definitely will be back!

Top mid-century design concept. Everything is styled really nicely. Loved the sauna, the pool, the food, the rooms and the amazing view from the room. Great hiking trails right behind the hotel. Big thumbs up!

Cōmodo is a delightful new gem in Bad Gastein, offering a refreshing mix of modern comfort and charm. The staff? Absolutely top-notch—attentive, friendly, and never in your face. The design? Every detail is a treat for the eyes that makes you want to stay forever.
Rooms are calm and comfy, making it easy to unwind. The food? Breakfast is lovely, but the dinners are where the kitchen really shines. And don't miss the cocktail bar—the drinks are pure magic.
Traveling with dogs? No problem! Our furry friends were greeted with cozy beds and bowls, making us all feel right at home.
The location is fantastic too—step outside for a hike in the woods or a stroll into the charming town of Bad Gastein. If the rest of the town follows Cōmodo's lead, Bad Gastein is set to become a top destination once again.

This place was just really nice.
The view of the valley from the sundeck is just the best you can have. Breakfast and dinner were always delicious and Ronnie gives the best massages.

Everything about The Comodo was top-notch, but special mention was the service. Every person I interacted was friendly and helpful. We were graciously upgraded at check-in to a room with a view/balcony, and given a welcome cocktail at check-in.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms very smartly designed. The bed was comfortable and firm, unlike a lot of beds in Europe that are too soft for my tastes. All lights were smartly placed, but the one negative is that the TV was not on wifi so could not cast my device to the TV (I admit, I didn´t go to front desk to try and resolve the issue).

I don´t often eat in the hotel restaurants, but the food was so delicious, we skipped our in-town dining plans and ate there the second night. All the servers, at breakfast and dinner, were so polite and hospitable.

The pool was very nice, so was the sun deck and sauna. Our massages were quality, although the one negative is that the staff were not conscientous of noise, so it was noisy during the massage (meaning the people outside the rooms).

We enjoyed our time in Bad Gastein and I would be thrilled to return to The Comodo.

Bad Gastein is a funny place to be in April. The hotel and the staff however were incredible! Amazing service and hospitality from every single person we interacted with from the manager, to the front of house, to the back of house team. I celebrated my birthday here and got nice comments from all the front of house staff all day wishing that we had a nice day/ happy birthday. Truly a memorable birthday in a memorable hotel.

I recently stayed at the Comodo design hotel and my experience was more than expected. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained. The highlight of my stay was the amazing staff – they were incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this hotel and I will return back in the future.

In general we are disappointed with the hospitality sector in Austria, a lot of places pretend to be something that they are not, bad behaviours from staff, impolite bosses.
The cómodo in bad gastein came to change this perception with super friendly staff well trained, amazing rooms , great minimalistic decoration combined with a lot of green. Sustainability here seems to be the thing, it is really nice to see a business that actually is up to date with trends and eco practices compared to the typical outdated Austrian family business style hotels.
A very refreshing experience and atmosphere, with great pool and spa facilities.

Design Hotels property and stylish hotel The Comodo, located in the Austrian Alpine Resort/ski town of Bad Gastein is a highly recommended design-centric destination for travelers a little extra interested in incredibly well thought out and luxurious mid-century modern sensibilities

We spent 3 nights in the Deluxe+ Mountain room which was highly spacious and with gorgeous attention to detail, and of course the centerpiece massive free standing bathtub, amazing!

The hotel is overall well equipped with bikes/ski equipment, a sun deck, pool, sauna, spa and its own little cinema, something we got to rent out for an evening which was a huge plus and was incredibly enjoyable! There is only 1 restaurant here serving breakfast, light bites for lunch and then casual but thought out dinner options, the big plus here was the daily chef special menu which provided some well needed rotation to the items

Alex helped us out with hike-planning and was very friendly and helpful, big shoutout to him! This is overall a great area in the summer for many exciting and breathtaking hikes, Sportgastein is a must!

To wrap things up I wanted to share a few tips/feedback to make the experience even greater!
• Because of the somewhat remote location, lack of close bus stops and high taxi prices It would be great if the Comodo could arrange semi-frequent shuttle trips back and forth from hotel to Bad Gastein centre
• Dinner closes quite early and there is no bar snacks menu after which can be a little sad for those wanting a later snack or arriving back to the hotel later
• A small desk in the room would be great for getting ahead on some work/writing
• in-room coffee/tea would also be helpful as everything closes down soon after 22
• If possible, arrange certain hours where the pool is adults only, this because while we tried visiting it was quite full of children splashing, shouting and jumping

Overall we highly recommend this destination and it’s quickly cemented itself as one of our favorite Design Hotels locations!

The entire experience was amazing - the setting, the service, the views, the food and especially the staff! I felt welcomed and warm the moment I entered the hotel. The view of the valley and the surrounding mountains was breathtaking! The staff (especially Nessi, Lena, Phillip, and housekeeping) were attentive, friendly and professional. The breakfast and restaurant team started each day perfectly. I'll be back - simply an amazing experience.

Outstanding Experience at Comodo Hotel - Exceptional Service!

My stay at the Comodo Hotel was nothing short of exceptional, and I owe it all to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make my visit memorable. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism that instantly made me feel at home.

A special mention must go to Lubi, the wonderful receptionist. Her kindness, efficiency, and genuine care for guests truly set the tone for my entire stay. Whether it was offering helpful suggestions for local attractions or ensuring that all my needs were met, Lubi was simply outstanding.

I also want to express my gratitude to Bella, the hostess, whose hospitality was second to none. Bella’s warm and welcoming demeanor, along with her attention to detail, made dining at the hotel’s restaurant a delightful experience. She ensured that every meal was not just a meal, but a special memory.

Overall, the Comodo Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-notch hospitality!

The only down side is that they dont offer coffee machines and mini fridges in the rooms which might force one to shorten their stay .

The comodo is a lovely and relaxing retreat in Bad Gastein. Excellent saunas and pool, great views, and nice walks out the back door both to town and the mountains make for a very enjoyable stay. Staff is very helpful and accessible.

Shuttles to and from the gondola make it easy to get on the mountain.

And the bar is lovely with a nice selection of cocktails, lounge spots, and great bartender.

Also pet friendly for rooms and lounge/lobby.

This was a wonderful option for staying at a very well-designed hotel with a child, without being labeled as a typical family hotel and screaming "kids, kids, kids" from all corners.

The staff and also amenities were very kids-friendly and the hotel offers several elements that are helpful when travelling with kids, such as early breakfast and pool times from 7am, a nicely equipped playroom with toys and a small indoor slide, a cinema with a childrens movies selection and separate kids menu in the restaurant.

It is a nice hotel with good service, a fantastic view, a perfect sauna, and aesthetics.
We enjoyed: The food was great, the friendly and welcoming staff, the great location, and the organized shuttle to/from the ski lifts.

Areas for improvement: it would be great to have sparkling water and tea inside the room.

A beautiful and cozy design hotel with a breathtaking view of the Alps and the Gastein valley. The consistent design throughout the entire building is luxurious and elegant, never overstated. I loved how the design brings nature into the house, mirroring it, for example granite table tops, evergreen tiles and warm wooden floors and panels. Our hotel room was beautiful with surprising small touches to make it special.
The Austrian fare in the restaurant was tasty and both the food, as well as the drinks at the bar were fairly priced. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful.
Silvia‘s yoga class was a highlight for me before heading out to ski or for a winter hike. Classic wellness was also to be had, with a larger than usual pool and 2 glass-walled saunas facing the alpine horizon and the sunset. We even took in a movie at the hotel’s own cinema.
We really felt at home at the Comodo. Danke!
