We were a school that went to Camp Kokoda last week and omg. It was definitely a blast of an experience especially with our instructor, Guy! He was amazing was always there for the students and just gave out a positive attitude to us! I hope to come here again with my family and experience it all over again! There were multiple activities that we did such as flying fox (ziplining) Tree top course, canoeing, giant swing and hiking! All these activities are completely fun and exciting to do. Well Done Guy and the rest of the team at Camp Kokoda!!!!!

P.S Please Give Guy A Pay Rise:)

definitely an incredible experience. i went down for a school trip and although the intense hiking was difficult, my camp group and especially my instructor were absolute godsends. my camp instructor was kind and helpful as well as being supportive which allowed me to be able to enjoy the little things like the incredible view rather than the absurd weight on my back or the steepness of the mountains. our camp instructor, guy (i believe that’s the spelling), really helped me through everything by being patient, allowing me to take my time, being reassuring especially when it came to our safety during things such as abseiling and by making conversation and telling the group and i about him and things that he’s experienced. overall, the experience is one i’d most definitely go through again. watching the sunrise and sunset, the incredible views and being amongst the wildlife was truly incredible.

Camp Kokoda is the complete location!
As an outdoor education teacher I couldn't be happier with the service and delivery of programs. Staff are engaged, build great relationships with students, while their practises are safe and always putting safety first.

Steve was an absolute legend as our school camp instructor. He was flexible and kept us fed, so we were never hungry. Please bring Steve back. He is your best instructor

I loved this camp it showed me how important resilience was and always challenged our group to the best of our abilities. I would like to give a shout out to Toby our guide who put up with us but taught us how to cook clean etc. The food was very delicious and overall the whole thing was fantastic. Thanks from St Patrick's college shorncliffe and most importantly treacy house❤❤

Got back yesterday I already have separation anxiety from this place, cried at least 7 times since our bus left the camp. I loved it so much and it made me feel so good. Our instructor Jared was great, made me feel safe on all the activities and put up with me and my friends every second he was around. He did have a lot of attitude that we had to deal with but we got through it. But seriously I would be happy to stay there with my cohort and instructors for weeks it was so good. I felt so safe and happy and if I had the option to go back next year for yr11 I would. You really do have to experience it to understand how it will stay with you forever, its not a normal school camp its a growing experience.
I would recommend it to any school to gain friendships and learn.

PS Jared Alli looked up " can't " in the oxford dictionary and it was there so I think just for that you do SadTurtleDance.

Went to camp Kokoda for a school camp, 100% the best camp and one of the best life experiences so many fun activities and going and doing things I have never done before. Our instructor (Roachie) such a great guy you can almost think of him as your mate not your camp instructor gonna miss this place, wish I could go again.

I went to Camp Kokoda through school expecting another mediocre experience in which I got nothing out of, but Camp Kokoda exceeded my expectations and is a program I would absolutely participate in again. During the three days I was there, there was not one dull moment. Though the giant swing, tree tops course, sugar glider and flying fox were all brilliant, what really made my camp was our instructor, Jared (Sharon!!!!!). He treated every student with equality and support. He never made anyone do anything they weren’t comfortable with, and he was always calm and collected. He played jokes on, and with us, and told us stories around the campfire - he even took the time to learn about each and every individual under his care. Jared taught us mateship, sacrifice, endurance and courage, and you could tell that he truly cares about what he does. In summary, Camp Kokoda was a 10/10 experience, and if you are reading this review, debating if you want to go or not, GO!!!! I thought I wasn’t the type of person to go hiking or do anything adventurous- but I found skills and developed abilities I never thought I could ever have. This program provided an exemplar experience which I highly recommend.

P.s give Jared a raise and a huge bonus because he deserves it

I went to Camp Kokoda for a school camp about 3 days ago. All the activities were amazing, and safe and just soo much fun. It brought all the girls together. Our camp leader was Codey. He was lovely, and pushed us to do the best we could. The food was amazing. The hiking was soo difficult but it was good. The sunset and sunrise was perfect and every night was amazing. It was a good camp that you would go to to learn and get closer to people and for just a fun experience.

I love reading reviews. I always start at the 1 star reviews to get a feel for the service or product. The one star reviews for Camp Kokoda are written by entitled brats who have likely trained their parents to do everything for them. It's a shame that Google allows misrepresentation to be so readily posted. In reality, Camp Kokoda support the development of Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice and Courage. This means that students are moved to the edge of their confort zone in some activities or experiences. For some, this might feel past the edge, but in reality the instructors never force any particpant to complete a task they are not actually capable of. Everything is done with safety in mind. Many of the students who come here may have never camped before. So carrying some food and equipment on a hike might be confronting for them, especailly if they are used to only playing X-box and having their parents pass them pizza. All activities are well planned with all staff highly qualified in outdoor education. All locations are vehicle accessible and in short walking distance of only a few kilometres. The food is camp food. We had spaghetti bolognaise, teriyaki chicken, and tacos for dinner. Sandwiches for lunch. Crackers, homous, fruit etc for morning/afternoon tea. Porridge, cereal, and toast for breakfast. One night we even baked a chocolate cake in a camp oven on the fire. This facility provides an excellent experience for all participants and is worth the effort. Take your group of kids here and ignore the >1% of entitled Google review sooks who need to swallow a spoon full of concrete and harden up. You will be really pleased you did.

I came back this afternoon from camp and it was really fun, our instructor who felt like a brother, Jared was the best. He made sure we were all having a good time and he treated us all like family. Jared needs a raise because he is the best instructor you have, he was always open for a chat about anything and he’s just such a great guy.

This was an excellent experience for our students; they were indeed challenged but enjoyed the activities and the responsibilities there were afforded. Some incredible activities including Giant Swing, high ropes, flying fox, abseiling and canoeing. Facilities and camping gear were very well maintained. Camp Kokoda instructors were extremely knowledgeable and personable. Would recommend for any school program.

This camp was a truly incredible experience. It is situated at Lake Maroon so after hiking to your campsite, you'll know it was worth the hike. Ignore the other bad reviews. They are just kids who wanted their phone.
My group leaders were Mitch and Jason, they made sure every activity was safe and I wouldn't hurt myself (that was a concern of mine going into the camp). The food there is pretty good (considering my peers cooked it 😂).
Overall this camp is a great place and I highly recommend going.

We took our corporate company for a team building weekend and had an amazing time. A true camping experience with super fun activities. Our instructor Shazzy was really great! The food that was supplied was great as well and they catered for all dietary requirements. Since returning to our office the overall vibe has changed which has increased everyone's productivity. I would highly recommend to any company who wants to create a better work culture and push their team out of there comfort zones. Thank you!

We have been sending students to Camp Kokoda for many years now. As someone involved in organizing expedition style camps for our students I have always been impressed by both the facilities and catering which are both first class. The staff are friendly and highly professional and management extremely helpful in catering for all our requirements. They have even helped in facilitating expeditions for our students through the world-class Mt Barney National Park which not only provides our students with an amazing challenge but also with an experience that is fixed in their memories for life.

We sent out two boy's aged 7 & 8yrs on the Camp kokoda camp over the September 2021 holiday's as they lost there pop to brain cancer in August 2021 we noticed a change in behaviour towards each other with emotions running high. We found Camp kokoda and thought it would be great for them to be in the wilderness and be a team help them with the way they feel. They came back like different kid's behaviour has improved with more appreciation. Our boy's had so much fun they loved the whole experience of being in the wilderness connecting with the land & nature whilst learning new things and over coming there fears. They didn't want to leave & wished the camp went longer. Laura was very nice great communication was able to answer any questions I had. I sent the kid's with the list of things provided they didn't use it all and stayed in the same clothes for 2 day's but that's just my boy's. Shaz & Nic we're awesome instructor's my boy's gave them a lot of good feedback very professional and funny at the same time would 💯 recommend this camp to everyone and love that the profits go back to supporting the youth .

Camp Kokoda is a truly authentic camping experience! The surrounding views of the Scenic Rim are stunning and make all the camp activities even more enjoyable!

The instructors are so patient and amazing with the kids in ensuring they understand all the safety requirements for each activity. This is the perfect spot for school or holiday camps especially as it’s only about a 2 hour drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

This camp is more suitable for secondary students, however they have just opened another camp near Laidley in QLD called Kokoda Park that is more suitable for primary students as well as older kids as they have cabins. Would highly recommend both!

I have severe crippling autism and this camp helped me overcome my greatest fear; cows. Cows were so scary before but now I even put my finger up their bum to show my superiority!
