Point Hut Picnic Area

Lovely spot. Shady, big trees, not many people here during the day during the week. Toilets. Picnic tables and chairs. Scenic area. Watch out for snakes. Would come here with the family and dog. As it very inclusive of the whole family!!!!!!!!!!!

A real gem! Stunning nature spot about 20-30 min drive south of Canberra. A bush trail, dotted with wild blackberry thickets, follows the Murrumbidgee River all the way to Pine Island from Hut Crossing which opens out to little swimming spots along the way. Nature lovers and dog walkers will love this part of the country.

Great place to relax and listen to the river flowing. Great for a swim in summer if it's not flowing too fast. :)

A good place to spend time with your family and specials. I absolutely recommend this place for nice day out.

A great place by the river. You can take a walk to pine island by the riverside. You can swim here in the river. You can picnic on the nice grass area. Not too many tables to sit at. Does have a toilet block.

Little hidden gem of Canberra. I almost don't want to do a review on this place to keep it a secret. Lots of room, places to adventure and excellent picnic location.

Parking is easy and off road. Only down side is the little to no phone reception

Has an off leash area for dogs. We can all swim in the Murrumbidgee.

A beautiful spot especially in autumn. Long and short walks can be taken by the river. A hundred metres downstream have a look at the Silurian Laidlaw Volcanics (423 - 422 million years ago) outcrops.

Beautiful, restful. Dog friendly areas. Trees, river, walking paths, picnic tables, toilets 🚻. Limited off road parking. BYO rubbish containers and take your rubbish away.

A quaint, calm and relaxing picnic area for those lazy weekend afternoons... Take your dog for a walk, swim in the calm rock pools, or just lounge around with your family... A great way to spend a weekend without travelling too far...

Great spot to bring your dog and kids for a swim in the glorious Murrimbidgee. Best spot in the south for dogs, otherwise have to go up to Uriarra Crossing.

Great little spot for a fish during the night, there is carp but you do get the odd cod every now and then 😀
