The Somerset Hotel

This pub is nothing short of amazing, their portions are incredible and staff are so friendly. My little brother is autistic and has ADHD, Georgiah never fails to make him happy with her authentic and bubbly personality, she is so kind to him. He loves her company, not only that but all of the staff here are so friendly and welcoming. I work in hospitality myself and the energy all of the staff give off is incredible. Friday nights with the raffles is the absolute best! We come down every bi-weekly Friday and have the time of our lives. This is SO much fun and is such a good idea. Will be back here many many times again.

My wife Wendy and I have been coming to the Somerset for a long time but in the last couple of years the level of service and quality of food have been amazing. The friendliness and courtesy exhibited by the staff is incredible and in particular Georgiah (who is an absolute bundle of happiness), Rebecca, Taryn and Shannon. Their customer service skills are exceptional and in conjunction with the wonderful selection of meals at terrific prices makes you want to come back again and again. You won’t be disappointed !!!

This place was great. Enjoyed my wifes 50th here. Staff were professional and very helpful. The young guy behind the bar was great to talk to. The food was next level and cooked perfect. Had a great aftetnoon. Thankyou to everyone working st patricks day 2024. You guys rock.

This is a tough review to write as I feel that giving 2 stars for service is not fair on the young lady that served us at our table in the beer garden, and whom was fantastic at her job.We always enjoy our meals, drinks, and the layout and atmosphere of the booths in the beer garden area.
The blunt dismissive barman
(fair haired with a short beard) however is a massive liability to your establishment.
This guy seriously needs to consider a career change, or at the least he should be given some retraining.
Whilst standing 3 people deep at the bar waiting to be served, this guy was at the other end of the bar having a chit chat with another patron. The guy in front of me asked for service, his response was a rude " yeah someone will be with you in a minute" This sort of attitude, and many other similar interactions with him, and not just on this occasion but many times over the last year or so, are enough to make us consider never coming back.
All the other people waiting, and another group at a table next to ours all commented on this guys surly self important personality.
I do hope that the owner or someone in upper management reads this, as he is is a terrible liability to an otherwise great place to come to.
Myself, with family and friends have been coming here regularly for many years, and would hate to see this loyal patronage ruined by one bad apple.

Always a favourite stop for dinner when over from Whyalla. Crumbed Chicken schnitzel mushroom sauce, enjoyed very much. ..thx

The southern fried chicken with mash potatoes and coleslaw was outstanding,you won’t be disappointed with the food selection.(also have a variety of pizzas on the menu.

Great pub with a good blend of modern and traditional spaces. Traditional resturant offers a quiet space to enjoy dinner with it's own bar for drinks, and a fantastic hot salad bar with fresh bakes and pasta.

The tucked away sports bar is a lively corner with ample bar seating, a few tables and many screens.

The beer garden is an amazing well designed indoor/outdoor space. With cosy booths (each with personal speaker tv, heater and fan) outdoor fire, dj booth, and stage. All bars offer a weekly rotating bar specials, and offer classic pub meals with gluten free, vegeterian, and vegan options.

Always a great place to eat out for lunch, dinner or just a casual place for drinks. Have been here multiple times over the years.

Great beer garden, very friendly staff and decently priced drinks

I was part of a large gathering for lunchtime. I must say the food was excellent, fresh & hot as was all of the guests. The service we had was also excellent & very friendly. The room we were in was clean & well kept. The outside of the hotel was also very well kept. Overall, it was a gr8 experience. Well done, Somerset Hotel. Highly recommend your establishment.

We have been going to our local hotel for years now and service and quality of food has been so bad we decided to try the Somerset hotel. Well two weeks in a row we have been now and wow the food quality, value for money and the staff are amazing. Always asking if we enjoyed our meal and never leaving dirty dishes on the table . Staff are so friendly. I want to give a special shout out to the chef our meals were Devine . We will be making this our local hotel for lunches from now on.

The kitchen here is a real hidden gem. I've had a Chicken Parmigiana there 3 times in the last two weeks and it's been flawless every time. I've wanted to try something different but it's so good I can't bring myself to order anything else. This place has genuinely good food and great staff. Looking forward to my next visit.
