Lorelle is a lovely and welcoming host.
I really enjoy the peaceful setting and convenient location to Geelong.
To me, it feels like a home away from home. I always feel welcomed and enjoy the cottage gardens and old worldly charm of the guest house.
I suggest bringing your favourite dish, to heat up in the microwave provided and enjoy the elegant dining room. You can leave your dishes for your host, on the tray provided, to take away to clean.
I always feel special and well looked after when I stay at Barrabool Hills.
There is a lovely porch just off the dining room, a lovely space to enjoy a glass of wine with a friend or the perfect location for your morning yoga. On one occasion Lorelle offered me one of her yoga mats as I had forgotten mine. I found this very thoughtful.
The rooms are cosy and welcoming. I enjoy the old country cottage feel, so it suits me very much. The cows in the surounding paddocks, the ducks meandering in the garden and the old farm cats at the back door step just add to its restfulness and warmth.
Filled with art and books, its quirky and homely, I really enjoy my stays.

We felt so at home as soon as we arrived. Lorelle was extremely friendly and accomodating. The home was comfortable and unique. The views were spectacular - rolling hills, trees and cattle. The English garden was gorgeous and so fragrant. The highlights were the comfy beds, an amazing breakfast spread and sitting by the fire playing some games before bed. Lorelle was very welcoming of our dog, Chewy. She also gave us a bit of background about the property - which has been in her family for 7 generations!! Lorelle also displayed her artwork throughout the home. We did not want to leave!! Highly recommend.

I was greeted with a warm welcome from Lorelle who had the coonara aglow upon my arrival. Cosy loungeroom with an eclectic array of memorabilia including a history of the property. The bed was very comfortable, firm but still comfy.
I'd recommend Barrabool Hills Retreat to anyone wanting a quiet getaway in an authentic home away from home!

I have had such a lovely relaxing stay. The breakfasts are the best I have enjoyed for years. The hospitality is unashamedly old fashioned and genuine. The ambience of the property is sufficient to help you forget the tyrannies of the crowded busy cities we now inhabit. Loved it and thanks Lorelle. Forget to mention the two dogs here were a great treat as well.

Best host, restful place. Suitable for people who love arts and books. The host sells all paintings in the house. You can ask for the price. There is no wifi or hotspot here. The 4G internet has only one signal, but still can use sometimes, no problem or feeling irritated. 😌

Wonderful retreat in a peaceful location close to the Great Ocean Road and easily accessible from Melbourne. The Beds are 5 Star and the Breakfasts are delicious.

The property is located in a picturesque Valley in the Barrabool Hills a beautiful area West of Geelong.

Great accommodation.

It was such a pleasant stay with my puppy Oscar. It is a quiet and peaceful place which is only 20 mins drive from centre of Geelong. Highly recommended.

Stayed here at Lorelle’s B&B. Beautiful place and a wonderful host.

Would have given 0 stars if possible. Worst airbnb experience ever. The host treated us like we are aliens and don't know how things work, probably because of our skin colour. It was cold in the night, she didn't let us use the fireplace telling us to wear more layers. She barged in on us without even knocking. Asked us not to use the quilts from the bedroom while we were sitting in the lounge. Told us to use old quilts which triggered allergies of some friends. When we confronted her about this she was very rude. Would not recommend this place at all.

If you are person of Culturally and linguistically diverse group I would strong recommend that you avoid this place as the host is not welcoming and is prejudiced against non-English speaking people. Friends and I had a terrible experience for several reasons, one of them was that the host denied our request to use the fireplace when we were cold and directed us to use an old quilt instead that triggered our allergies. One of my friends even suffered an asthma attack, thanks to the host.

Lorelle can you please turn your phone back on. I spoke to you on the 29th and you sent me an email on the 31st saying you will refund our accommodation. It has been a month and we haven’t heard from you and now you are uncontactable. Rebecca
